Nice menu, excellent service. Best for fine dining in Manassas.
Although service was adequate, it took an unusually long time to be served our food.
The food wa inconsistent. A spectacular sweet potato soup, lovely salad and seafood dish but undercooked pasta and lobster that was chewy and tough. We love this restaurant and would love to recommend it but at this price point consistently well cooked food is expected, and it wasn’t.
Outstanding service and food!!!! In my opinion this is Manassas’s best option for a special occasion.
It was a fabulous meal and experience. This was our third visit and we expect to return. Thank you and many thanks to Jennifer, our server. She was a joy!
We met up with some friends that we had not seen in awhile. Great food. Quiet enough to be able to talk and catch up. Had a great time.
Food was delicious—chef is very creative! Nice ambience, quiet and intimate. Wonderful experience!
Had to wait a long time for one of the appetizers. Pasta was like overcooked ramen noodles and LOADED with garlic. Not real Italian.
Food was good. Staff forgot to bring out our salads. Management made it up with a discount on the check and a gift card. Restaurant was extremely loud; half of restaurant was booked for private event.
I had never been to Carmello's but hosted a small party of 4 celebrating my mother's birthday. The restaurant itself is very nice and the food was simply wonderful. The offered commentary glass of Portuguese white whine that the other 3 guests said was nice. Appetizers included 2 orders of Oysters Rockefeller, one made gluten free since my mother cannot have gluten. Also tried the Filet tips which were to die for. The shrimp bisque was very good and is also gluten free which likely explains why I have has it "thicker" at other restaurants but the flavor itself was fine.
Two guests had the Paella which they both loved. I had the veal with gnocchi and it was so good and the 4th had a chicken dish
I gave it 4 stars on value because it is fairly expensive for Manassas but everything else was 5 star and the meal and exprience was enjoyed by all and they have enough gluten free choices for anyone who like my mother, has ciliac disease or simply cannot tolerate gluten well
Too way too long for food after placing the order.
Food was good; could have been warmer but overall good.
We went primarily to check the venue for a potential rehearsal dinner location, but we were very pleased with the dinner and service. Javier took excellent care of us, and the meals were exceptional. Great overall experience!
It was Homecoming-mistake #1. Filled with noisy young (mostly) girls. No place to move us. Fois Gras was poorly cooked, paella for two over cooked. Service was excellent, however. Won’t go back.
We are frequent visitors to this restaurant and were disappointed by the service we received on October 12th. It was my birthday celebration and also the homecoming for a local high school. We were seated in a room with all of them and even though we arrived before them our order was not served until all 40 or so of them. This entailed waiting one hour between our appetizers and entree with no check back from the waiter for drinks or any update. The manager tried to make it right with comped desserts but it did not wipe out the ruination of our birthday celebration that brought my children together from three states. I was very upset.
The vibe was fine dining but felt relaxed. The service was prompt and friendly - even on an evening when several of the guests were celebrating HS Homecoming. My Salmone Fiorentina was absolutely delicious. We look forward to returning to Carmello's again in the future!
Food was wonderful - only surpassed by the level of service we received - can’t wait to return!
This restaurant has great potentisl but lacks the finesse of a five star dining experience. Sine parts of paella were overcooked, escargot had too little garlic and too much butter. There is s real effort to provide fresh authentic food but its not quite there. We eat at higher end restaurants and cruise with an adult only line -- do we are used to high standards. In other words we are dont give out five stars unless its perfect.
The hostess was so sweet and welcoming! She definitely created a positive entrance to the dining experience at Carmello's. I cam with my boyfriend for his birthday, and asked ahead of time for a special dessert or something. The waitstaff completely surprised him at the end of our meal by bringing over a very cutely decorated plate. The wait time for our food was a little long, but the staff was very attentive to make sure we were doing okay. The food was cooked very well; my boyfriend had the paella and LOVED it! I ordered the chicken with spinach pasta, and was a bit disappointed with the dish. It was cooked well, however, the combination of flavors seemed a bit awkward according to my palate. Overall, lovely place to go for a date and dine :)
We were celebrating my wife's birthday with seven friends. As with our previous experience at Carmello's our most recent experience was fantastic! Everything from the table linens, to the lighting, to our server (Chris) and our food was exceptional!
Waiter was never available when needed even though they were not busy.
Absolutely wonderful dinner, great atmosphere, excellent service.
A little pricey, otherwise perfect
Amazing experience, great service, great food, A true keeper!
This was our first visit to Carmello's in a long time. It seemed as if their menu has become limited, especially if you are not a shellfish eater. That said the calamari was excellent. It was light and tasty. The Caesar salad was different, served slightly warm. It was very good. As for the entrees, the duck breast was well prepared and presented. The orzo that accompanied it was very tasty. The shrimp with angel hair pasta came with a large portion of pasta. The person who ordered it said she wished the portion of shrimp was larger. The pan-seared salmon, ordered with our the crab stuffing, was very tasty.
The service, while polite, was not at the level it should have been. The was, as far as we could see, only three people in the part of the dining room in which we were seated, a lead server, an assistant server, and a person pouring water and clearing dishes. Three of us were sharing the calamari and one ordered a Caesar salad. The calamari was served, the Caesar person asked for her salad to be served then. Several minutes later, she again asked. The assistant server said that he though she want the appetizer first. We were not asked if we wanted wine. We had to ask for the wine list and then flag down someone to take the wine order. Finally, three of us ordered coffees and one tea. The coffees were served but we had to call someone over to remind them that a tea was also ordered. This may be related to the fact that they were understaffed, but it took away from the experience.
Great food and wonderful service. We had a good time.
Great menu options, tasty food, and excellent service.
Excellent food with great service. Best upscale restaurant in Manassas.
The food was excellent and service was great. We received a complimentary wine to try, and that was good too. They also have some of the best crab cakes I’ve eaten. This is a great place to bring a date or a get together with friends.
Excellent food as always. My wife and I were surprised and grateful for the complementary dessert since it was our wedding anniversary.
Service was good as usual. The fish was a little dry but still very tasty. We all enjoyed our meals and will return.
From being greeted with glasses of sparkling Pinot Grigio to the delicious seafood heavy Italian food to the attentive service, my husband and I had a wonderful evening at Carmello’s. I highly recommend for a special night out.
Excellent service and food.
This was I and my wife's 3rd visit to Carmello's. This time it was for my birthday. The service, food and atmosphere are wonderful. Our waiter, Javier, was very attentive without being too much. He recommended an excellent wine. We will definitely be back.
Fantastic atmosphere and perfect for every course. Will be back
Acoustics are loud in the restaurant, but the food is excellent!
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. A little expensive compared to others but worth it for sure.
We truly enjoyed our dinner at Carmello's. Delicious food for a fair value. The customer service was also wonderful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Carmello’s. Great service great food!
We had heard a lot about Carmello's of Old Town Manassas but this was our first visit but definitely will not be our last. The food was outstanding. I had the beet salad, wow, really different and delicious. My husband had the veal and thought it was the best he had ever had!
The small storefront restaurant was quiet even though there were two bands playing right around the corner from the restaurant. It has wood floors and white tablecloths. Just lovely!
We look forward to our next visit.
Our service and dinner at Carmello’s was excellent. Great flavors and presentation. I loved the experience and will be back!
