The food was DIVINE! I would go every day for dinner if I could. The drinks and dessert are fantastic too. And Carmella always treats her customers like family. The service was quick and super friendly.
I love this place!
The best brunch cocktails around! The banana old fashion is fantastic.
I really enjoyed the food and the waiter Ben was very nice and attentive but I felt the portions were small compared to the prices.
Very unique ambiance. Food was interesting. Jerked fried chicken with matcha waffles. Sounds crazy but it worked. The infused spirits were quite good too. I would go back.
Always the best in the Southside of Pittsburgh!!
The service was excellent and the place has a nice atmosphere. The food, however, was bland (had five different dishes between the four of us, and only one had true flavor).
Great one year anniversary dinner spot! Delicious food and drinks!
I had a reservation on open table but they said they didn’t see it. Thankfully they still had a table for us.
We had THE BEST waitress ever. The food was amazing and the coffee was the best black coffee!
Slow service. Mediocre food at high prices.
Love Carmella's. Great food. Great service and great atmosphere. One of our favorites.
Everything was great. Wagyu burgers wwre supposed to come out medium rare we were told. 5 of us got them and 4/5 they were all closer to medium well unfortunately. We didn’t want to send 4 of them back. Just wish they were actually med rare. Still good though.
Great brunch! The chicken for the waffles is so tender and flavorful! Plus, they are always great for a perfectly made mimosa or 3!
Service was great and the meal was bomb. Great experience will definitely be back!
We chose to eat outside which was kind of a mistake since you’re right in the street and passing cars/motorcycles make it loud at times. Other than that it was delightful. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding!! Will definitely be going back!!
First time. We will be back!
Great outdoor dining along Carson Street. Great beer selection. Tabatha was a fabulous server!
Carmella’s and my wife and I’s favorite restaurant. We go there fore date nights, special occasions, you name it. We have never had a bad meal, the service is perfection and the drinks are always good. We recommend this restaurant to everyone and will always. Thanks for being a staple restaurant for us and thank you for the exceptional dining you provide.
Great spot on the south side for a nice birthday dinner! The cioppino was excellent. The service and general attitude of staff was over the top great- and welcoming. This is no small thing in the days of being barked at everywhere we go. Thanks for not losing your welcoming spirit and hospitality, which is what its all about right? Anyhow, only so-so thing would be the desserts were a little weak, skip the fruity pebble creme brulee thing.
The drinks were great! But the food didn’t match the description in the menu. And we had uncooked chicken. When we showed the waiter he said it’s suppose to be like that. I’ve never been served undercooked pink chicken at any restaurant Ive been to. Nor have I served it when I’ve waited tables. The atmosphere was great. I would recommend this place for beverages more then the food.
The food was fine, but nothing all that special and WAY over priced for some of the portions. Particularly the scallops. Service was also pretty bad. I would normally make exceptions because of COVID but we had to ask for silverware 3 times. You can’t blame COVID for that.
Always amazing!! We can’t wait for you to open back up again. I have happy dreams about cheesy tatertots with brunch. Hope you all are staying safe! 💜💜
Cool rustic spot for brunch with lots of unique dishes and cocktails.
Wonderful dinner and exceptional service!!
The Culinary Team makes the best brunch in Southside. Amazing and friendly service. And the bartender def makes a killer Peach Punch. Can’t wait to come back!
Best brunch around, their brunch cocktails are so unique and perfectly crafted
Great atmosphere and delicious cocktails
The food is absolutely delicious!
Very cute restaurant, enjoyed how lively it was. We were seated at a hightop and had very good service. Only complaint I have is that my friend and I both ordered the salmon and risotto. Mine came out cold and hers came out overcooked when she specifically asked for it medium rare. We both sent our meals back. Mine came out cold Again and hers came out raw! I ate mine anyway but it had no flavor. I feel like it’s hard to mess up pan fried salmon, ( I make it all the time at home!) just put some salt and pepper and lemon on it!!! Guys meals were good. Waiter made no offer of comping anything, not even a free desert! Would probably go back, great selection of bourbons, whiskeys, and scotches!
We were hoping to go for dinner but our schedule had us go for Saturday Brunch menu. Honestly I was not enthused having brunch choices but the food was well prepared and seasoned nicely. Only one person greeting and serving so not the best but very friendly service. Excellent bourbon list but bartender knew nothing about bourbon. Overall I would go back again for sure.
Always friendly staff. Good comfort food. nice variety on both food and cocktails.
The food and server were perfect. The wine selections were great too. The whole environment was lively and fun.
We loved everything from the decor, to the service, to the food. Definitely go but make a reservation!
The service was good before dinner. We were running late and I called to confirm that we could hold our table and they were very accommodating. I did request to be at an end cap so that our date wasn’t stuck between other sets of people and they filled that request.
Although, the food service was less than favorable. I am gluten free and was very specific about my dietary restrictions. They brought the wrong meal out the first two times. It was made incorrectly and with gluten containing ingredients clearly on the plate. Our order was just completely wrong and not compensated for fully. We left earlier than we wanted to because we didn’t want to continue paying and waiting.
Overall, it was not the worst, I’m sure if you do not have dietary restrictions this would be a much smoother experience.
We celebrated Valentine's Day there. The atmosphere is intimate and cozy. Unlike many modern day dining experiences, we were able to easily talk without screaming at each other. The food was delicious and served promptly. We had the salmon, meatballs, wedge salad, and mac and cheese with a crab topping. Yum!! The brownie was good, but would have been so much better if it had been warmed prior to serving. Dessert is like the icing on the cake. Why serve it if it isn"t your best effort? Our drinks were fine; nothing out of the ordinary. We would go again.
Valentine’s Day, very relaxing non rushed experience with a cute ambiance
Amazing food and cozy atmosphere
Have eaten here before and had great food but by this time it was off. Went with a group of friends and none of us were very excited about what we got. Drinks were excellent though.
It’s the lighting and coziness that positively affect from the moment you enter. Add the amazing food, the exceptional variety of beer and spirits, the very friendly and skilled wait and bar staff, and the hospitality cod the owners, and you have one of my top 3 Pittsburgh destinations for dining with friends, or a romantic occasion. Cheers!
So nice to still have a gem like this in the south side, where it can be hard to have a delicious dinner without being crammed in or rushed through on a Saturday night. The burrata was delightful, the roasted peppers and olive tapenade really were great with the creaminess of the cheese. My husband had the veal bolognese 'share plate' as his meal and thought the portion size was great. I had the wagyu burger which was perfectly cooked, and the bun was buttery and salty and amazing. We had Irish coffee and cheesecake for dessert which were both great, but had serious 'order envy' when I saw the cinnamon rolls being taken to another table, so we'll have to return soon to try those!
