   Excellent food and service. The whiskey inventory is the best I have seen in the Pittsburgh area. Haven’t visited since the pandemic and plan to return soon. Highly recommend.

   We went for brunch on Sunday at noon with another couple. Our wives had mimosas and Limoncello spritzes and we husbands had hazy IPAs from their excellent draft list, all of which were very good. I had the frittata, my wife had the breakfast sandwich, and the other couple had the omelette of the day and the chicken and biscuits. They were all ample sized and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was cozy and quiet despite there being few tables open. We had a great time and will look forward to coming back again.

   We used to live in the South Side and Carmella’s was our spot!! We came back to Pittsburgh for the weekend and Ben instantly remembered us! The food and drinks were fantastic and delicious as usual, but Ben is one of the best servers we have ever had. He is so kind and charming, made us feel right at home again! The new menu is delicious!! We can’t wait to come back and visit in a few months again. Thank you so much for having us!!

   We had Easter dinner here. Everyone we had contact with was so nice & friendly. Our server knew the menu well even though it was a special menu for the day. The atmosphere great, the music playing was perfect but not too loud for conversations and the food, the food was fantastic! Our choices included 2 had the lasagna, 1 the rib eye and 1 the lamb shank. All delicious but the lamb shank won for over all best! I can't wait to go back and order from the regular menu! Oh, they gave the option to tip the kitchen! We thought that was amazing since they also gave up their holiday to be there for the guests!

   I really wanted to love this place. I came for brunch and the food was just….Meh. Nothing to write to yelp about. The service was excellent and the place looks like a lodge restaurant in Switzerland. Its quirky and fun.

    The place was busy for a Saturday night and I was excited that I was able to get a reservation so late (booked on Friday). I had the wild mushroom risotto and it was delicious. My friend had the risotto Nero which had calamari, mussels shrimp and lobster. It was served with squid ink. She loved every bite. All in all a wonderful meal and I look forward to returning.

    Beautiful bar and interesting overall ambiance. Extensive alcohol menu. Our drinks were excellent. The Wagyu Bolognese was very good. The risotto was very good as well. However, the chicken showed up separate from the risotto not incorporated into the entree which was a surprise and a little disappointing.

    Very friendly place... Ben, our waiter was beyond friendly and helpful -- even gave us some free biscuits and frittata at the end of the Brunch! Have been to this place before and will go again and again.

    It pains me to write this, as I’ve been to Carmella’s for brunch several times and it was on of my fav spots. I was excited to try it for dinner - but was disappointed in the food. It was so bland, it was like there was no seasoning whatsoever on anything. Appetizers, entrees, same issue. Drinks were good, and the service was good as well.

    Went in on a random date night. Service and atmosphere were great. The drinks were also very good. However, the food was extremely bland. It is definitely not worth the price. You can get a lot better food at the same or lower price in the area. Would go back for drinks, not for food.

    Very cozy but eclectic. The food was special for Pittsburgh Restaurant week but absolutely delicious, quite a few choices. The Pastiscio and Shepherds pie were great choices and made with lamb. Ben and Tanya,our servers were very knowledgeable and attentive. It was a great evening and we plan to return. Carmella’s was a find thanks to Restaurant Week.

    Food was not wonderful, burger wqs very undercooked so it was sent back and butternut squash risotto was flavorless. The drinks and environment were great. Need to get the food up to par.

    Though I've been to Carmella's previously, the other people in my party had not and were very pleased with my dinner location choice. We made selections from the robust whiskey menu, enjoyed dinner, other drinks, and fantastic desserts.

    Two couples in our party; the filet wellington was excellent as was the salmon dinner. Two of us ordered the spaetzle dinner, which was ok but lacked taste. The texture and color of the spaetzle dish was not appealing - grayish brown color. The bartender did a great job of preparing two cocktails for two picky customers -- very good!

    My second visit to Carmella's but the first time in the restaurant. Very good vibe. I enjoyed the bar on my previous visit but the restaurant just shades it. The food is astonishingly high quality and great value - the desserts are to die for.

    This place was absolutely amazing!! A hidden gem!!! I can’t believe we haven’t tried Carmella’s until now…such a cozy, neat atmosphere and the food was next level. We will 100% be back!!
