The restaurant was cold service was slow but the waiter was pleasant the starter was ok but the main had no taste I think that they had staff shortages we will not be going back to any of the carluccios
A great meal with pre supper cocktails at Carluccios Chichester. Service from Kai was fantastic. Overall a really good experience and happy to see Carluccios still providing as good an eating and drinking experience as ever.
Our waitress was really helpful and sympathetic to my health condition and restricted eating habits
Nice food, very good service and a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant.
Would recommend to friends and family.
The food was nice but definitely not worthy of the price they sell it for. I have had much nicer dinners cheaper elsewhere. Will I go again? probably not. Service was lovely and very attentive but that was all we were impressed with
They didn’t have half the menu ! We didn’t stay to eat
Lovely food and wine and efficient, friendly service... Thank you!
A very enjoyable evening meal. Food to the normal good standard for the brand with very attentive service at this particular restaurant.
We ended up not eating there after waiting over 30 minutes for anybody to see us, even after we asked repeatedly.
They did not hold our table even though we reserved it.
Their outside seating is very poor in the rain - inadequate cover, tables are close together.
Not all staff members were wearing masks.
It felt unsafe to eat there, we are still in the middle of a global pandemic, and while we are all vaccinated, one person in our group is elderly.
Bad management, staff seemed to not know what they were supposed to be doing, other customers walked out due to poor service and long wait for food,
The service was polite, but very slow. We had to chase our main course after being in for 75 minutes. However, the delay and complaint were dealt with very well.
Lovely staff , great wines and food : burrata was exceptional ( lots of places serve regular mozzarella) sea bass cooked to perfection. Very affordable for the quality of food .
Very slow service, waited 1h 20 in total for main course. Food left on the pass for a long time once cooked as insufficient waiting staff.
Food was excellent and service really good. Our server Henry was friendly and attentive.
Really depressing. Feels like a neglected canteen - not that clean - zero atmosphere. Staff visibly bored and not paying attention to the few customers there were. Food poor. Lots not available and what there was was pretty rubbish. Avoid.
The food is excellent and is good value. My only complaint would be that the service is slow at times. Considering the restaurant was not full, drinks sat on the counter for a while before someone noticed them and took them to a table.
Food faultless. Pity some items unavailable due to events out of restaurant control but still enough to choose from.
No problems, we enjoyed a very good lunch for which many thanks.
Always enjoy dining with you. A proven formula, good food and excellent service made for a very pleasant evening
It was really hard work trying to have a meal here, the worst service ever. After 20 minutes we went up to the desk to ask if we could order, another 20 minutes to get a drink, we explained the we were going to the theatre so only had 75 minutes.
Our starters were cold, when queried with the waitress she said she did not know if they were supposed to be hot or not. Deep fried calamari should have been a clue.
When the same waitress came to bring our main courses she was plainly irritated that our starter plates were in the way as they had not been cleared.
We waited about 20 minutes after we had finished eating and eventually went to the desk to ask for our bill so that we could pay and leave, dirty plates were still on the table.
I don’t know what has happened here but it was frustrating, not enjoyable and frankly felt like hard work.
The food was delicious, served in a friendly manner, in a clean and happy environment.
There were problems with kitchen staff and general staff levels resulting in slow service.
My friend and I had a pleasant table at the back. The food was delicious and the 3 staff on duty in the restaurant were welcoming, helpful and efficient - could not have asked for more. My friend and I go to Chichester once a year for the theatre (could not go in 2020 - Covid!). This is the 2nd time we have visited Carluccio's and been extremely happy.
Shocking from start to finish.
We had a table booked for 5 at 7.45pm to celebrate my daughter’s exam results…she had chosen the restaurant because of it’s location and menu, first time we’d been out for dinner as a family in 2 years…however we were so disappointed.
From arrival, no welcome, staff casually sat at bar chatting, eventually ‘oh hello’ shown to table, 20 mins before received menus another 15 min wait for our drinks.
Restaurant was not overly busy, appeared tardy, decor tired, not particularly clean especially floor and toilets (not what you expect ever but especially during these times) cutlery smeared… so different from outside appearance and our expectation.
After an hour of ordering with no explanation or apology for delay (and asking 3 times for a jug of water for table) we still hadn’t received any food, so we complained and eventually received our starters, one of which was soup served without a spoon (so my husband had to go and ask for one!)
Then another long wait for the mains, no explanations, 2 of which were ok, the other 3 disappointing, presentation shocking and had to ask again for cutlery!
We were really cross and fed up by this point and made that known to the staff.
This resulted in an ‘apology’ from possibly the manager (didn’t introduce himself) who came to the table with an utterly confusing explanation…he didn’t know why the service was so poor as had full complement of staff but food had been really slow all day and he could understand our frustration! Offered us our entire meal for free (a gesture I suppose) but by this time our whole evening had been spoilt & our celebration dinner ruined.
Would not recommend Carluccio’s Chichester to anyone and will certainly not be visiting again ever!
It's Carluccios. You know what you're getting. That's why we choose Carluccios. Service in Chichester restaurant is great. Plenty of space between tables. Food is always good. My granddaughter had the seafood linguine and is convinced it's the best she's had in the UK. She sent her dad a picture of the dish and he returned a row of crying face emojis. He was in Canterbury at the time so went straight there for lunch! Thanks for your consistency in Chichester Carluccios. X
Been before and my wife had same main dish-Chicken Saltimbocca-this one was not good-no sage on the chicken and it was bland.I had the Beef Ragu-not much beef and a lot of pasta-runny sauce and the whole dish fairly tasteless
The food was average, the service was terrible. The restaurant wasn't that busy and we were kept waiting for ages with very little apology.
Menu items not on list no rose wine!!
Verynoisey crowd of women near us music terrible
Long wait for main meal 1.5 hours
Never ever to return
Great option for pre theatre dining in Chichester
We needed to be budget conscious, but the staff and general ambience meant our experience still felt like we were dining out and having a treat
Food was simple, fresh and tasty - brought quickly and cheerfully when we explained our time squeeze
Staff charming, helpful but not overbearing
C's is an excellent venue for good quality and good value food. The house wine is also good as is the service
We felt that Carluccios needed a good clean and the decor was tired. The floors needed a good clean, toilets Roo. Plus the windows and blinds.
I had the spinach & ricotta ravioli and the sauce was awful. Bland, oily, no flavour, gungy. Really odd. Such a simple dish. Everything else was nice but we felt we had to be honest.
The couple next to us asked for money off of their bill due to the food. Perhaps we should have said something too.
Staff were great, energetic and friendly. Just feel like it needs some tlc.
The staff at the Chichester Carluccio's were amazing & we thoroughly enjoyed our starters and mains, though the steak was quite thin and the pancetta in the carbonara a little soft and fatty. However we found the desserts disappointing - especially the giant profiterole's which were far too sickly... why mess with a classic that is perfect in its' original simplicity.
All in all we had a lovely time, but sadly a few points meant we couldn't award 5*'s.
Pleasant informal cafe style with plenty of comings and goings to watch (I was dining alone). Comfortable cheerful noise level. Food good but not as remarkable as some times when I have dined there - but kitchen short staffed.
Excellent service from the staff and very attentive making sure everything was was ok with the food.
We chose to go to Carluccio's for a pre-theatre meal as we love the tiramisu there. Anyway, I chose to have minute steak, as that's a better fit with Tiramisu for dessert than pasta (which I'd have been safer with). The steak was like shoe leather, very overcooked. But putting that behind me I ordered my Tiramisu - no Tiramisu at 6.30 on a saturday evening!! That's really bad organisation. Had pannacotta instead which was ok. Then coffee - barely warm. Got 20% off bill which soothed the disappointment but would rather have had a decent meal.
Went for brunch..No greeting No eye contact from staff after at least five minutes of being ignored even though staff were within 2 m of me told to Pick any table then no one came to serve us had to wave someone over who then served another table first! Waited 15 minutes for 2 coffees had to ask 3 times for water food arrived it was incorrect sent back my avocado tasted of vinegar served on a small thin piece of burnt toast
Had to call staff over again as had no check back asked for another coffee and was told well there is a very long wait for drinks today waitress then walked off had to ask again ten minutes later Bill was incorrect twice and finally a supervisor came over who Huffed and went to sort out the bill no apology and she did not return The waitress who served us mostly was sweet but had obviously not been trained at all in the correct methods only good part were the poached egg and catching up with a friend
Toilets were also pretty grim My worst experience at Carluccio will not return !!
Easy to find and parking within walkable distance. Friendly and attentive service. Delicious menu. Single-diner friendly.
very busy but the wait was worth it; starters excellent and the mains were first class, would recommend our friends and family any time.
Yes it was ok, food was nice £6 for 2 small bottles of coke unacceptable. Service was fine and relaxed but overall not as good as cote.
Really nice location, I had rung ahead to check where to park which was v helpful. Lots of space social distanced. Staff very professional. Unfortunately 2 of my requests were unavailable but the food was a high standard with a varied menu. We had a nice time and as we did not have much time, service allowed us to eat in the time we had.
