We enjoyed what would be our last dinner at Carlucci, this past Saturday evening, as they were closing that weekend. For many years, we have enjoyed the food, ambience, service , and entertainment. Many occasions were celebrated at Carlucci. We especially enjoyed the beautiful outdoor patio with the waterfall. Thank you, Joe. We will savor the memories!
So sad that this was our last meal at Carlucci. We love this restaurant and wish all employees the best.
This Carluccis is closing after this week end. It was great because they seated 10 of us when at first we expected only 6. The waiter was attentive. Some of the entries were excellent, mine was ok. The meatballs aren't as good as at other restaurants, and I needed to have them heated. But, the waiter did so immediately, no questions asked. I believe some of it was because they were closing this location for good after the week end. I had been here before, and it was excellent at that time. I would give a Carluccis at another location another chance. And, I can't say enough good things about the hostess and the servers. Hope they stay on or get another good gig.
Did not bring or ask about bread
Wine was hot
Forgot my espresso
Bring the check without asking for desert
Host was nice!
We hate to see you close. Have really enjoyed your restaurant.
This restaurant is closing on February 18 as the property has been sold to Coopers Hawk, who will build an entirely new restaurant on the site to open in 2019.
The food was good, we had the pork chop and the Parmesan linguini. The prosciutto with the linguine seemed more like sliced ham, so we did not eat it. Also the bread that they brought to the table was hard and stale, and so was the next batch. For the type of restaurant and prices I expected a bit more from the service too. There were no recommendations or conversation. It was just a “what do you want to eat ” “ok do you want a refill” “yes” ..... so it’s something I would expect at chili’s. Server was very friendly, but again, not what you expect at a place like this.
Our standard for Valetines Day. Great food, super atmosphere and relaxing and enjoyable.
This was the worst experience ever! I made reservations for 4 for Valentine's Day with my family. When we arrived I told them my reservation. They said NO you don't have one. I showed them my Open Table confirmation email. They still said no reservation. You must of made the one for the Schaumburg I restaurant. It clearly states Downer's Grove on my email as I showed it again to them.
They gave us the worst table in the restaurant. A separate room all the way in the back corner by the cold window. I asked if we could have a different table. No can do. Place was empty.
We had a question about the carbonara sauce. Waitress didn't know what was in it and they were out of it at 6pm.
They also didn't have the stuffed blue cheese olives for the Martini. They were not prepared for V-Day.
Food is usually excellent. Tonight main course was good, but dessert special for Valentine's Day was horrible.
Waiter was rude
We came here for restaurant week with some friends and had a luscious meal. Lunch menu is very adequate With plenty of good choices.
The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet. The food did not have much flavor. The pasta though was excellent. We had sword fish and it was seasoned with pepper and maybe salt - no flavor and was a bit over cooked. The noodles ( knoke) sp. that they served with the fish were dry and flavorless. Under the fish was shredded fennel and some sort of beet which was also rather tasteless.
Sorry to say this but I was very disappointed.
Girls night out.. food was fabulous and the service was great!
Was a great experience. Waiter was personable and had good knowledge of the wines. Food was excellent for the price.
Thanks to Carlo for making the evening memorable. The restaurant week menu was a great value.
Really enjoy the food and a favorite is the pasta served tableside. Over the years I have recommended this place because the menu is broad, service excellent and tables. At a comfortable distance. It even works for friends with hearing issues. Cousins who have experienced gourmet dining rated this as excellent including the tomato mozzarella salad. Hard to have room for dessert, but worth the indulgence.
Always a good experience. Very reliable food quality and service. And they had half off wine bottles! That was a great special!
We went there during Restaurant Week and got to sample a bit of everything. The food was amazing. The appetizer portions were odd but delicious. Everything we got was delicious and authentic and we can't wait to go back. The linguine was honestly the second best pasta dish I've ever had in my life, second to a homemade meal in Venice.
We went there the first time as part of the Restaurant week. We were seated promptly. One of the people in the group next to our booth was loud, but otherwise was a very pleasant outing. The servers were friendly. The food was very creative and very tasty. We definitely will go back again.
Absolutely wonderful Restaurant Week menu. Food was all very good and selection great. Definitely will be back. No hassle and we were able to talk without shouting at each other. Classy place without over doing it.
Went for Restaurant Week, food was great and the lunch was an amazing value and the service was extra friendly. Anxious to go back for dinner.
Nice venue good service. Good food went for restaurant week lunch was excellent
It was our first time there. The Linguini Bobonato was outstanding. The Salami Board is sufficient to share with others at your table. Everything was well prepared and delicious.
We definitely will go back.
Went there for Restaurant week. First time at that Restaurant.
I was very happy with the service & food. What they offer
for Restaurant week was great. The Filet I had was delicious,
the pasta was great very we had was great.
By chance, we dined during Chicago Restaurant Week. The $44 prix fixe dinner was outstanding. My husband and I shared it with a bottle of wine, as did our friends, and we loved it. I woke up the next morning thinking about the delicious food. Fish was excellent.
Went to Carlucci’s because it was part of Chicago’s Restaurant Week. The special menu selections were very nice and priced at $44 for 4 courses. The portions were ridiculously large and I took home portions for three more meals! Great, attentive service.
Great Restaurant Week menu ...large portions
Our waiter was terrible. It seemed he had no time for us. He put down the bread and ran. We wanted butter but he didn’t stat long enough for us to ask.
I got the wrong appetizer. When ai looked down and saw it was wrong, he was gone already. So I had to flag him down. My girlfriend had a question on her meal but since he wasn’t around, she said forget it. Maybe the staff was short handed so he couldn’t even pause at our table. It seemed like here, and he was off.
Meal was excellent though!
As always we.had a wonderful dinner, and our server Liz was great!
Our food was amazing but the waiter wasn't attentive at all and we were a party of 8 and he came to our table only 3 times!!
