Carlos'n Charlie's - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Our dinner was good & service was very good & polite. However, went for breakfast the next morning & would not recommend. There was no host to seat you & no sign to seat yourself. Service at the table was still good, but what we ordered for breakfast was not.
We waited for 10 minutes and finally asked the busboy to get our drinks. 5 minutes after that our waitress appeared. We ordered and 30 minutes after that we got our food and it was cold. They were not busy, so I don't see why the service was so crappy. Food not worth the price. We are locals and go out the majority of the time. We will not go back there
Happy hour drinks are watered down. I received a margarita 2 for the price of 1 and it tasted like the icees I buy for my kids. You could see the shaven ice and then water around it. I could not taste any alcohol so it may have just as well been an Icee. My husband received a warm beer. Who likes warm beer? Even if it is “cheaper”, the value/quality should not decrease.
Carlos and Charlies is a good choice for good Tex-Mex on the strip. The drinks are strong, the location is great, and there is a lot to choose from on the menu. The service was indifferent which was a bit of a disappointment. Otherwise, I'd recommend Carlos and Chartlie's on your next Vegas junket.
The service was terrible and my mom's dish was awful. She ordered fish tacos & they were frozen fish patties that you get out of a box. They didn't even cut the fish up! My burrito charlie was really good, however. It also took 10 minutes to get our check back even though there was only 3 other parties dining.
My wife and I just finished the 7:30 PM showing of Legends at the Flamingo Wednesday night.
When we purchased the tickets at the box office we were made aware of the dinner and drink
specials at Carlos' n Charlie's. The 9:00 PM 2 for 1 Happy Hour and buy one get one free dinner were a bonus. Our server Carlos (yes his name was Carlos) was exceptional and made our dining experience much more pleasurable. We will definitely be back to see them next year.
This place is on the casino floor but it was really a boring experience. Waiter seemed distracted and didn't check back with us after dropping off food. The bar looked like it was shut down even though it was dinner time. Food was fine but nothing exceptional.
I was with a large party and I think it's just ridiculous that this place can't offer separate tickets for their guest. Who wants to pay for ones entire ticket. We're in the 21st century people, surely you system can fix that problem. Texas does it everywhere.
We had a large group. We were greeted and served in good time but the restaurant was not very crowded at the time. One persons dinner did not come with the others and had to be cooked afterwards. It was fajitas that cook up quickly so she did not wait too much longer.
The fried ice cream is a favorite of mine! If you can sit out on the patio, much nicer than the dark and dingy inside seating. The servers have never been the most attentive, but that's my experience every time. If you are not in a rush and the weather is nice, sit outside and relax. The food is okay, but not the best Mexican on the strip.
Arrived at 630 for a quick dinner and a margarita. Their margaritas are all sadly based on sweet and sour mix which kills the taste of the ingredients. But such is life. But then a wave of people showed up and the restaurant was packed. I don't think they were staffed for a big run on a Sunday night. Everything went into slow motion and the noise level got well beyond conversational. The food was okay but pretty bland for our tastes. Charlie's Tacos were okay. The one mole dish my wife had was not a good mole. Our waiter apologized for the slowness and the fact that he all but disappeared. He was nice and we tipped him well. But I would be hard pressed to select this spot for a return dinner. There are just so many other choices.
The food was fine, nothing spectacular that stands out. Table side guacamole is always nice. Overall, $90 for 2 people to have dinner at a place that's exactly like any large chain is not a good value. I have no problem paying top dollar for top dollar food, but that's not this place.
We got a groupon for an entree and open bar for 4 hours. Everything was great, from being able to choose almost everything on the meal, to a nice cozy atmosphere. The only caveat is that our choice of drink was only one kind of lite beer and margaritas. The margaritas were poured into 2 foot tall carafes, was WAY too much slushie for me so I asked for a Double, which is actually way more than 2 ounces! My wife and I ended up getting sick later that night I believe from too much sugar so beware!
