Carlo's Italian Bistro
Not fancy, uneven but friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices. A great place to bring large groups because they have the space, are accommodating, have a menu to please everyone, and the value is good. Desserts are very good!
Have been for two large family gatherings...Carlo's is perfect for family celebrations!
Seated promptly. Waitress attentive & friendly. The food was delicious. We ordered the cheese bread as an appetizer. My husband spotted it the last time we were there & said he wanted to try it. I had the garlic shrimp w/fettuccini. It was a very large portion. My husband had chicken parmesan. Both were delicious & of course we had leftovers.
Debbie our waitress was great and very pleasant. She helped us with our selection
Great Flavor to the food. Very accommodating service. BYO. Will go again.
I have never been disappointed at Carlo's. We have been there when they are busy, as well as when they are slow. The food and service has always been outstanding. The meals are extremely tasty and always served hot and the servers make us feel like friends. (Debbie is a hoot!! We really enjoy her!)
Give Carlo's a try, you won't be disappointed!!
Food was good. Our waitress was very good. I would recommend Carlos.
Great home made tasting Italian food!
Best dining experience in a long time. Have loved Carlo’s since it was in Towson/Parkville. Food was outstanding...as always.
We have been dining at Carlo’s Italian Bistro for several years and we are never disappointed. The food is always excellent..fresh bread, wonderful house salad vinaigrette, delicious fresh cooked entrees. Service is wonderful and attentive and the whole atmosphere is family oriented. You will not be disappointed!
The waitress was friendly and smart enough not to ask what we thought of our food during or after our meal. We ate early, around 5, so few patrons. However, the conversation in the kitchen area, which is open to the dining room, was loud. Very unprofessional. I ordered the lobster ravioli which I thought, after reading the description, would have a wonderful flavor. It was very fishy. My husband's pasta and red sauce were ok, but the meatballs he ordered as an addition to his entree where not. The three meatballs were huge, but not flavorful. He left all but a forkful uneaten. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and we came to Carlo's looking for something special on our last night of vacation. We were disappointed.
We really enjoyed our experience! We will definitely be back
Even though it was Mother’s Day, a usually hectic, slow-service and crowded day at most restaurants, our experience was excellent! Good, friendly service from Debbie B. And delicious homemade food! Loved the bread baked on site and the all our pasta dishes.
This was my second visit. I ordered the veal parmigiana, which turned out to be a poor choice. The veal was over cooked. On my first visit I had the Chicken Piccata, which was loaded with flavor. This time I made a bad choice.
Really yummy food! Neighborhood go to place! Personable and good waitress.
Always good food and nice people.
I had never heard of Carlo's before looking for a place for Easter Sunday on the Thursday of the same week. They had good ratings and still had reservations so we booked. You may miss it coming from the main road since it sits right behind Taco Bell but it's a huge place with first floor and upstairs seating. We were a large party of 8 and were seated upstairs. They were about 10 empty tables up there.
We ordered the special of the day, an appetizer and entrees. A little disappointed they didn't have a full bar, only wine and beer but they are BYOB with a corkage fee. We all were impressed with the side salads. The Shrimp Rolando was a crowd pleaser and left us cleaning the plate with our ordered garlic bread. The lobster ravioli, shrimp toscana and shrimp alfredo were all delicious. When the food arrived we all stopped talking and ate because it was that good. Since we were seated upstairs I think the waiter forgot about us but he was very polite and cleared things everytime he came up.
Overall, LOVED the food and will definitely return.
We've reviewed Carlo's Italian Bistro numerous times over the years, since we eat there very frequently. The food is excellent (love the bruschetta, mussels, meatballs, chicken parm venue is pleasant and pricing is reasonable. We look for consistency in a restaurant and Carlo's is always good.
Very nice staff. Atmosphere was welcoming. A little difficult to find, but overall our foursome enjoyed our evening.
Carlo's Italian Bistro is always a pleasurable experience for a traditional Italian meal - staff are friendly and the food is excellent!
Just like grandma used to make! So delicious as always. Gnocchi, veal parm, house salad dressing are all excellent. Love their clam sauce - best around for sure!
Food got the thumbs up from an 85 year old Italian women from Italy. Need I say more.
Love this restaurant. Friendly and attentive staff. Food is still outstanding even after the death of Carlos. Will continue to patronize in the future.
We have seen Carlo’s 100 times and never went in. My wife and I were in the mood for Italian food. I did a quick search, found Carlo’s, saw the high reviews and we decided to try it out. AWESOME food and great customer service. We WILL be back and found our ”go-to” Italian dinner spot!
Love Carlos! Always consistently delicious food and service. If your waiter or waitress is tied up, someone else comes over to check on drinks, bread, etc. Love the vibe in there. Quiet yet high energy. How do they pull that off? Love the menu and the specials and the Shrimp Rolando appetizer sometimes becomes my meal! Yum. It’s really delicious. Lobster Ravioli is excellent and so is their Seafood Pescatore! Love all their shrimp dishes! Real Parm is also excellent!! You cannot go wrong sitting down for a meal in this delicious gem!!
Food was excellent as usual. Service was exceptional. The last time we were here, the last entree was not served until some of us had already finished our meals. No such issue this time.
My wife and I visited on Valentine's Day. The Meatballs, the Linguini and Clam Sauce and the Mussels were very good. The Antipasto plate was ok: it was poorly presented (and the plate on which it was served was way too small) and the inclusion of a hard-boiled egg seemed like an odd choice, especially when the cured meat portions were so small. The house salad was good, but there was too much dressing.
The problem with our experience was the service. Candles were on the table, but our server did not light it -- we had to ask. We brough a bottle of white wine with us, but the server did not offer to bring us a chiller -- we had to ask. Bread was served, but we had to ask for the olive oil (at an Italian restaurant!). In short, the server did the bare minimum and, as a result, we are not likely to return to Carlo's any time soon. Even though the food was good overall, there are plenty of other options for Italian food with better service.
Everyone was helpful at the restaurant which was great, super nice staff but the food was lackluster. The calamari & chicken had no color to it & were seasoned poorly. Pasta was average & every addition that is included in normal dishes (chicken, broccoli, ect) was extra. I can get chicken alfredo for $16 from Cheesecake Factory with broccoli, here it’s $23. Probably not coming back here
Veal isn’t worth $27 when it looks like canned cat food.
My family and I tried Carlo’s because we enjoyed Primavera in Harford County before it closed, and the owner is the same. Food is almost identical and very good. We didn’t realize that Carlo’s is also BYOB, so we’ll be bringing our own wine next trip! They do serve wine, however, if you prefer to order there.
What can we say we absolutely love Carlo's Restaurante. No matter what veal dish you choose or any other dish for that matter you will never be disappointed. For the first time we tried the shrimp Tower appetizer. It is a must. You should definitely order it. Our server, Jenna, was outstanding, hospitable and attentive.
It was a very enjoyable evening. Everyone really enjoyed their food. It was very tasty and delicious. Our waitress, Christina, was very efficient and eager to please. I would definitely go there again as well as recommend Carlo's to other people.
We have been coming to Carlos' Italian Bistro for years! We love their Shrimp Rolando and Veal Romana.
Lunch with 6 ama big ladies!
Party of four had salads, calamari for appetizers with fish, veal, and pasta entrees
All very good
It was a great evening with family. The server was willing to share her recommendations honestly. She was great. Food was wonderful and we were not rushed out of the restaurant. Great food and a wonderful place to catch up.
Neighnorhood secret - wonderful dining experience!
Great job for a large group on Christmas Eve! Food and service were excellent!
The linguine alfredo was absolutely incredible. Rich, creamy sauce on perfectly prepared linguine.
Still great veal. Don't understand why a ten dollar charge for a couple of glasses of ice. There isn't liquor available, just wine and beer. BYOB is encourage on the menu but doesn't say you will be charged to bring your own liquor. And an up charge to change sauces on the side of pasta. Nickle dime stuff but also not mentioned by server. Miss Carlo :(
Great place to have lunch with a friend. Service and food were very good as well as the value.
