Best True French Bistro in town!
Crab - Shrimp - Salmon - Spinach
Great spot! I loved the ambiance and the service. I ordered the French onion soup and the scallops for dinner. It was fantastic. My wife had a salad and a steak with fries, unfortunately the steak was just a little bit overdone, but the flavor was great.
Thank you so much!
The escargot in puff pastry and the bread pudding with white chocolate and caramel sauce iis delish. George the new server is fantastic!
Nice atmosphere and good food
We had just spent five hours enjoying the Philadelphia Flower Show, wandering around the FDR Park. It was a hot and humid day, and we chose to dine indoors rather than the evening heat just outside, which we would have enjoyed as well but we were really ready for some air conditioned splendor. With a window seat in the front of the restaurant, we enjoyed being “outside“ while being just inside. But air-conditioned! Our first time at Caribou, we decided to go with the Pre-Fixe as there were many choices and we would not need to debate selecting a dessert, or not! While my spouse went to freshen up after our hot day at the park, I called the waiter to return. I ordered the country plate as an appetizer before the Pre-Fixe appetizer, entrée, and dessert. We love country pate and the addition of several cheeses and other meats was quite appealing. I had her deliver it first prior to the appetizers in the Pre-Fixe. Along with the expertly made cocktails by the bartender, the prefix was an enjoyable beginning, even before the beginning. While I could write a book about the delicious appetizers, entrées, and delicious desserts, let me summarize by saying all were beyond expectations and the Rosé wine selection was the best I’ve had and made me wonder why it was rated globally as only second best! Our first meal at Caribou, we already began making plans for who we would want to join us here the next time we come. And did I mention, the service was superb. Under the careful watch of both the bartender and waiter, not a detail was missed and all our needs were anticipated well before we realized their need.
Always perfect. Foos ,service., it’s my go to time and time again. Well done Caribou
Limited staff, miss the bar, the food was just ok.
The food and ambiance at Caribou Cafe were good, not great. Among the standard French bistro menu items, the double pork chop was an extremely generous portion, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. However, the special salmon salad of the day was anything but, the usual lettuce and green beans with lots of lox straight from your local supermarket put on top. The service was pretty standard. A decent experience but not wowing me for return visits.
I had the leek and potato soup and the quiche. Both were heavenly. My husband had the Croque Madam and reported it was meh. The chocolate mousse is to die for. Service was fabulous.
Always love dining here. Feels like being in Paris for a brief period of time.
Always delicious food, great drinks and fantastic service.
Great experience. The staff and food were amazing.
Went for my girlfriend’s birthday during restaurant week; everything that could go wrong did when we were trying to get there, but they were incredibly accommodating and kept our reservation and provided exceptional service along with the food. We are absolutely coming back.
The food was delicious and the service was great and I would definitely would go there again.
I have had better meals at Caribou Cafe in the past. The chicken moutarde was a bit overcooked. The sit that I had was a bit uncomfortable. I should have asked to be moved.
I would go back. Prior to the pandemic, I had a wonderful 3 course luncheon there. The entree was steak frites. I hope to return to enjoy that entree!
Absolutely fantastic French bistro food! Great ambiance and staff, will definitely go back!
Restaurant week prix fixe lunch was good rather than very good but the restaurant is pleasant and the staff excellent. Certainly worth a second trip when I am in the area.
Nice atmosphere we came for restaurant week, food was ok.
Food was very good, service excellent, good ambience, intimate and very "French" interior, lighting pretty dimmed and intimate. Recommend the steak frites cooked medium rare, and the vegetarian bolognese pasta dish was par excellence. Get the bread pudding, to die for!
My names Jay! I do food vlogs for YouTube, TikTok & Reel! This was my first time dining at this DELICIOUS restaurant and it absolutely did not disappoint. Our server Eleanor was BOMB, she was absolutely outstanding gave us the best energy and helped with any questions we had about the menu. The food was deceivingly small, meaning it looked small but was FILLING lol. It was soooo good, it brought me back to Paris France in every delicious bite. BRB bout to go book a flight now lol. I post food reviews about once a week, soon twice. My Instagram & TikTok is @jaynaomia my name on YouTube is Jay Naomi, the link for my YouTube is in my IG bio if you wanna check it out. 5 stars absolutely in every aspect. We will absolutely be back!
Love the outside area. Feels like we're in a bistro in france!
Staff was amazing! Especially the busboy french onion soup was great. Burger was one the worst I’ve ever had sorry
Amazing cocktails and food. Great ambiance, I will definitely come back for a date or a friends get together
Food and service was amazing!
Celebrated my sons birthday in Philly and found this new favorite while looking through the center city Restaurant Week listing. We will be back for sure!! Loved the bistro style, the food was amazing, and the service top notch. My son had their Philly Cheesesteak that had Filet and Brie cheese with sauteed onions on a baguette and I had the seafood crepe with lobster sauce that was out of this world.
Thank you for making the celebration so special!!
They had vegetarian items on the menu (the only reason we went) but they refused to cook it and serve it to us. We could only get drinks and had to leave after. Also we asked for bottled water and they brought us tap.
The food was amazing! High compliments to the chef. Also, great atmosphere right in the heart of the city. Can’t wait to go back!
Food was wonderful. Especially the bread pudding.
My brook trout almondine was one of the best I've had with it's buttery, lemony sauce containing just the right amount of capers. My wife's steak frites (substituting string beans for the fries at her request) was delicious. Service was friendly, efficient and accommodating. Noise level was high due to our choice of eating outside during Philadelphia's rush hour. By the end of our meal the noise level was reasonable.
I hadn't been to Caribou Café in a long time. Both my Friend and I had a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back soon. The food was great and the service wonderful! So glad my in-house dining after such a long, long time was a Joy!
Very happy about my first dining experience at the Caribou Cafe. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the overall ambience made it absolutely delightful. It is now on my list of great places to dine in Philly!💕
Place is nice and food is awesome 👌
We went during Restaurant Week so I thought the service might be a little iffy, but that wasn't the case at all. The food was delicious, our table was spacious and in a quiet area, and the service was attentive and friendly.
Our first visit to Caribou Cafe certainly won't be our last. Everything--especially the food and the service--was better than we hoped for. Definitely a Center City treasure!
Excellent food and service. Sat just inside the broad open front of the restaurant on a beautiful evening. Recommend.
Went for restaurant week lunch. Warm spinach salad with goat cheese was delicious.
Had a great experience at Caribou Cafe. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for the large portions, and the staff was friendly and attentive.
Lovely French lunch during Philly Restaurant week. I had the seafood crepe that was jam packed with seafood. A great first time out to eat following the pandemic and a more than attentive staff.
The food and the service were perfect. Because it was such a lovely day, we sat outside, so it was noisy, but couldn't be helped.
Service was 5 star great. The salad was fabulous. The French beer was excellent. Unfortunately The pork was fatty. I will eat pork fat if crispy but the pork was only medium which is great for the meat. Not so much for the fat. The perfiteroles were to die for! Slice and filling with Vanilla ice cream. Covered in fudge sauce.
