Our meal was fine
The service slow
My complaint was that basically the restaurant was empty
Even though we ate early it never filled up
Really nice evening for my birthday. A bit pricey but we really enjoyed ourselves.
We had a light dinner - soup du jour, crepe, salad etc., all nice. Service was good, and the best thing, on a cold, wet slushy night was the cosy fin-de-siècle Parisian decor and ambience.
The octopus appetizer was fantastic, everything was excellent
Party of 5 was located in the middle of the floor. I did ask that we not climb the steps (my wife cannot climb the steps.) Our 5th party member was a bit late and the staff wasn't happy with his late arrival. We did start our meal before his arrival. Drink that was ordered was slight and price was high.
Location was convenient for snow and the Forrest Theater.
Waiter started out ok, but I'm still waiting, since Saturday night, for a spoon so I can eat my ice cream ......also ordered decaf cappuccino, waited for 15 min only to have it taste burnt and old.
On a positive note, my burger with goat cheese, was great.
Delicious food and friendly service! Very close proximity to the Forrest Theater so Caribou is a great place for pre or post theater dining.
The crepes are just like those made in France. I had the seafood and my partner the traditional. The texture was perfect, and the filling a great balance of flavor and filling. Sitting upstairs next to the railing can be a little tight.
Caribou Cafe is a rare find in Philadelphia. Caribou Cafe is a cute French bistro with authentic French food located in the heart of Center City. The staff provided high quality service and the food had an exquisite quality to it. The price is a little expensive for the food portion they provide. However that is something you should expect from a French Bistro. This is definitely a place to recommend for a nice fancy romantic dinner.
Good food. Nice wine list. Friendly staff. Came here on Valentine's day dinner and it wasn't too crowded, like you would expect. Staff was super friendly and allowed us to sit at the bar and have a pre-dinner drink while they got the table ready. And there was no rush to seat us and move us out. Overall a great experience.
Was there on Valentine’s Day. Took 20 minutes to get drink order and any attention from wait staff. They were busy due to the holiday and theater crowd. Had to ask to be waited on. Our drink and food orders were both inaccurate. Didn’t get the right drink and had to send back. Didn’t include soup that we ordered so we ate that As our entree. Food was decent.
I went here for Valentines Day and the waitstaff was horrible. I told the waitress I had a Gluten Allergy and she did not tell the chef.
We ordered mussels as an appetizer they came out before our entree order was even taken and they had breadcrumbs on them. I did not realize until after I had already eaten one though. We left and will never return. I do not recommend to anyone with an allergy.
Very nice restaurant with French cafe feel. We chose a prix fixe dinner for our pre-theater meal. It was served promptly and was delicious. The fish du jour was a well prepared monkfish and the steak frittes was also very tasty. A nice touch would have been to serve the frittes "Belgian style" with a side of mayonnaise instead of ketchup. It would have a nice compliment to the delicious Belgian beer on tap
A very convenient location for before or after the theater. Friendly & attentive staff. Nice decor and comfortable booths for a group of 4.
We were rused it seemed. She didnt pronounce the dishes well. There was too much pepper on the steak. But the wine was very nice and, overall the food was veryngood.
This is one of my favorite places for lunch. This is the first time that I had been there for dinner is a long time - it will probably be a long time again. The pre-theatre crowd was very loud and made the service slow and unresponsive. One of the diners really didn't like his salmon, either. Oh, well, back for lunch soon, I'm sure.
This was an evening before the theatre and the restaurant was crowded. The kitchen was apparently over-capacity and unable to get food out in a timely fashion. The restaurant service is usually excellent. Avoid the pre-theater crowd.
Poorly trained staff. Did not take drink order prior to food order. Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive. Food was served with no utensils or napkins. We had to request utensils before we could eat. Burger was good though and cooked as requested.
Always love your restaurant.
Another fantastic meal at the charming Caribou Cafe. The only thing better than the food is the warm and friendly staff who always take the time to chat and share some good laughs. Truly the gem of the neighborhood! By far, our favorite spot in the city.
