Food was underwhelming. Pasta was overcooked, and the wrong type of sauce for a seafood pasta. Salad read differently on menu then what was served and server claimed it was guests not understanding Italian that led to confusion rather the fact that there was very little cauliflower and hazelnuts in salad as advertised. Service was slow. Overall not bad but I wouldn't go back.

I always like the cardinal for the food quality, the embiance and the wine list. What make it a great experience too is the noise level, you can hear yourself talk and have a conversation over dinner

This was my second time having supper at the Cardinale and I was impressed both times. Seated promptly, service throughout was efficient, friendly and entertaining. The cocktails and food was amazing. Great job!

Loved loved loved this restaurant. Went here for New Year's Eve dinner and the service was still great. The food is wonderful and the carbonara was the best I've had of the many Italian places I've tried.

We came in just after a rush so they were in recovery mode on the 31st. Took a bit to get drinks but when things got settled it was great. Food was great, specialty drinks were great and the service was great after that! Had a very nice time. Would totally recommend to friends and family.

First off, the service is exceptional. I emailed a couple of questions before hand as it was New Year’s Eve and i wanted to know if they do a set menu. I was happy to find out that they were offering their regular menu as it is a pet peeve of mine to be forced to order from a set menu. I was responded to in a very prompt and friendly manner. We were welcomed right away when we walked in and our server was amazing. Super friendly and attentive but not in an annoying way. The vibe was super energetic and a bit loud, but nothing over the top. The one thing I don’t like about the space is that you can feel the draft from outside every time the door opens (it was -30.) Not exactly sure what they are supposed to do about this though. I was definitely impressed with their wine list. The one we chose was amazing. The food was good, but slightly underwhelming. I love Italian food and I think they do a good job but for the price, I was not overly impressed if I am being honest. I would try it again though and I would maybe try it for lunch. Based on other reviews though, it may just be my opinion.

We thought the whole experience was just average. Not a large selections on the menu and was unwilling to modify dishes to suit our preference.

The food was delicious and the pricing was reasonable given the good quality of the food however my issues were these:

1. SUB-ARCTIC TEMPERATURES INSIDE the restaurant. I realize it was -25 on the night we went out for dinner and our waitress explained to us that the "owner of the building sets the temperature and we are fighting with him to get it turned up" however this is NO EXCUSE to have a freezing dining room. Invest in a couple of space heaters and crank the temperature before service begins to ensure your guests are warm and don't have to sit huddled up in their parkas and scarves (which is what we did). The cold temperatures completely over took the whole experience and rather than focusing how good the food was, all I can remember is how frigid the restaurant was inside.

2. TOO MANY TABLES TOO CLOSE TOGETHER - there should have been one less 2 top table in the middle of the room. There was barely enough room to pass between tables and my husband could not hear us speaking as he had 3 tables right behind him which were so close their volume overwhelmed our conversations.

Perhaps we were trying to cram everyone into the front room to keep it warm???

Food is awesome, service not much, even if the food is perfect, service needs to find the spot between being “family” friendly and overreaching. They kind of treat you like you have to cope with them, like you are lucky of being there, and believe me the food is not that good. Time to learn

The menu is small but everything we tried was excellent. The waiter was amazing, always there when we needed him but not intrusive, that is quite a talent. The atmosphere was great and will most certainly go again

Restaurant was crowded. Waiter more interested in serving the large table than a table for two. Had linguini with seafood, and he didn’t bring a bowl or plate to put shells, had to put on table. Ordered bread and it came after the meal (although they did take it off the bill). Food was lukewarm and had sat too long under the heating lamp. Overall disappointing meal and service.

Went for a lunch on a Friday. Beautiful but small inside, a patio opens in the summer I presume.

Ordered a couple drinks, which were both interesting and tasty.

The food was good overall, I had the brisket meatball sandwich which was good but a bit under seasoned. My friend ordered the deli sandwich and enjoyed.

Would go back.

The food was fantastic! The antipasto portions of polpette and suppli were very generous so the small plate for my papardelle pasta was plenty. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu. 👍

Really liked the decor since the restaurant is in an old house! The food was high quality, would have liked a few more pasta options.
It was very busy and very loud, pre hockey game! Will go again on a different night.

Loved the Gnocci. I did find it relatively dark in there and with the small writing on the menu, it was diffcult to read about what foods they were offering. I could not get my light on my cell phone to work.

Overall the dinner was good but the music was really loud so it was hard to talk over it. Other than the music, the food was good, pasta was a good size for individual or share between two people if you aren't too hungry.

I decided to bring a friend from out of town to Cardinale for supper because of the reviews. I honestly think they must have been written by friends and family of the owners and management. The service was phenomenal and we enjoyed a fabulous bottle of wine advised by a helpful Sommelier. The food was good, but nothing special. However, the menu is sparse, with only two main entrées to choose from - snapper (it said halibut on the menu but was actually snapper) and veal. The prices are incredibly high, the atmosphere is very casual and they play their music quite loud. Given the limited menu, lack of ambience and high prices I would not recommend this restaurant.

Cocktails were amazing, service was good but some of the food lacked. The POLPETTE was dry, I really enjoy the SUPPLI, and the TORTIGLIONI... salty salty salty! I don’t love a lot of salt so I may be biased. I would try this place again though.
