A hidden gem on the rows. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. I can’t wait to go back.

Really disappointed with this restaurant - and we’d been so looking forward to going. The waiter who served us and the young ‘manager’ who took us to the table were both excellent and the bit of history provided was lovely to hear. However, my bruschetta was so firm I couldn’t cut it and there were very few tomatoes and little pesto. My carbonara (which I asked for a half portion of) was very sticky, with stodgy and had pancetta with a lot of white unrendered fat. My husbands seafood risotto was also really disappointing - very little seafood and very stodgy. The chicken in mushroom sauce our friend had was really nice and their scallop starter was good too. So it seems like it’s down to the choices you make. But not a great experience for what should be an authentic Italian experience sadly.

Went on a Saturday. Booked for 8 pm about 4 days before Had to move the table due to train delays to 8.30. No tables available so asked to sit at the bar. Ordered drinks which didn’t come and had to ask for them once seated at the table The drinks order was incorrect. Asked for a Hendricks and was given a pink Gordon’s gin. Was busy so didn’t ask to change and was only charged for Gordon’s Asked for side plates 3 times. Once when ordering once when food was brought and 5 mins after food had been on the table asked again Food was nice. Best carbonara I’ve had. Other pasta was fine. Side salad was fine. Zucchini fries were soggy and very small portion Older gentleman was very friendly and made a lot of effort. Young staff waiting on were clearly run ragged and made it be known with interactions. Nice guys but the service wasn’t there. Was offered shots of lemon chello which was nice and they didn’t need to offer. Paid the bill and the waiter seemed a little more relaxed and chatty. Was surprised to see the day after that I had been charged 10.95 for a side salad and 10.95 for zucchini fries. Price on the menu is 5.95. So over paid by £10. Like to think it was a genuine mistake and not over charged on purpose. Im not sure why the till would be set up for side salad and a zucchini at 10.95. That being said I didn’t tip because of the poor service and they did give us shots so balanced out. Just keep an eye on the price of the sides as I don’t know anywhere that charges £11 for a small side salad.

This restaurant is developing a very nasty habit of cancelling tables at the last minute and just texting to say they are closed, even when they have tables booked. This is the second time the restaurant has done this to us, whereby they blame work they are having in the kitchen and therefore cannot open. We are reasonable people, therefore if you don't have the numbers to open then either don't open that night of the week, or be honest. Don't make up some bull that the kitchen is being worked upon, as it has happened twice 3 months apart and yet I get the exact same story.

Whilst the service was good and the place had a nice ambiance, we waited an hour and a half for our food and it was ok but nothing special.

Lovely afternoon, great atmosphere , low lighting and not too busy. Got to choose where to be seated and the setting was very comfortable and plenty of table space for two. Service was great, lots of servers around topping us glasses and checking in to ask if the food was OK. The menu had lots of choice, filet steak was amazing and not something I would usually choose at an Italian restaurant, but highly recommended. We spent nearly three hours at the table and were not rushed between courses, but didn’t have to wait long for food either. There is so much more to try on the menu so will definitely go back. One of the nicest restaurants we’ve been to in a while. Felt very welcomed and taken care of, prices were as expected too. Thank you!

We were visiting Chester for the weekend. Found this gem of a restaurant. They allowed dogs(huge bonus). The service was exceptional. The staff were all outstanding : personable, great hosts and they took time to look after us. The food was amazing! We would come here again. Would recommend anyone to visit.

Good Friday evening and hectic. Best thing to do, go with the flow, so don't be in a rush. Drinks arrive and watch with interest what's going on. One starter, then nice pause before main meals arrive. Sea food pasta is great and full of flavour; wife is very quiet with her gnocchi. One sweet (panna cotta) two americanos, grappa & limoncello. Couple of hours nicely spent Italian style. No more to be said.

Absolutely amazing food, all homemade and authentic. Julius served us and he couldn’t have been more polite, helpful and accommodating. He even went out of his way to make us 2 smaller desserts so that we could try one of each and offered us an after dinner digestive drink of choice to finish our meal. 10/10 will be returning :)
