Carambola Ratings and Reviews
Very simply, Carambola operates on another plane from other restaurants. The food is not merely tasty and good, it's creative and fun and amazing. The red pepper/carrot soup was delicious, the salad a delight. The beef dish I enjoyed was succulent. Restaurants of this calibre, where food is an art form, are rare, and to have one in the little town of Hudson is a gift.
After coming to your restaurant for over 17 years and always having a wonderful experience it pains me to say that next time I reserve I’ll make sure you are there… ( but it will be a very long time ) I raved about your restaurant to my sister for years and finally I was able to take her on Saturday because she’s from out of town. Firstly no bread plates on the table we were forced to put our bread on napkins. Then we started our taps order like always , first course came at around 9;00 we were seated at 8;15, second order came at 10:00PM!!! Yup that’s right but that’s not the worst part people who were seated before us, were served first , and then at 10:00 the waitress tells us that there is only 1 ravioli left and both my sister and I ordered it, so I let her have it, it finally came at 10:30 ….. They must have put it in the warmer because the mushroom sauce stuck to the plate and the ravioli’s were hard…. My husband who has just recovered from heart surgery ordered the monk fish , which the waitress told him it was in a LIGHT spinach sauce… I should have taken a picture of it … It was swimming in milk and no sign of any spinach or the fish for that matter ,. My crab cakes were 4 small pieces that looked like after dinner mints and were over cooked…… Finally we told her not to bring anything else because we just had enough, I was so very disappointed , whomever you left in charge on Saturday clearly dropped the ball…..
I normally never do this but I loved your resturant so much that I just had to say something…..
This was unfortunately only my second time because this place is so popular that we have to book far in advance! Too bad they can only seat 45 people. The Tapas are amazing and the chef very creative and accomodating to customer’s special requests! A great neighborhood restaurant which is also worth the drive if you don’t live in the area 👍
Les tapas sont incroyables et ce resto vaut absolument le détour!
Excellent!!! I come here often with my daughter. The selection of food is so diverse and amazing and uniquely prepared. It is always a new experience. The service is very good! Perfectly timed and the server is always polite and extremely helpful.
I could dine there every evening it I could!
Our first time there. We have been trying from time to time to get reservation, but always at the last minute and they are quite busy and popular
Interesting BYOB and Tapas menu concept.
Worth the drive since we are West Islanders...
We enjoyed everything, and there was quite a varied selection..
We were 4 people and ordered 8 different dishes and treated it as a tasting menu, so we all tried every dish. Although just our first time, I think this is the way to go, rather than just ordering a plate or two for yourself.
Perhaps not ideal for vegetarians, although we did not actually ask....
Great restaurant, but it was an anniversary and we were really rushed, like here is your last plate, and few minuts later, the bill, bye. No time to finish my glass of wine, give the card or the gift to the brithday girl. That was less great. So go late or very early.
