Super belle place et ambiance. Seul hic, mon repas principal soit des pâtes aux fruits de mers , trop cher 27$, pour une très petite assiette. Décevant ! Parcontre tout le reste était excellent. J’y retournerai.
As always, and even with a change in ownership/management ,CARAMBOLA always hits the mark in terms of wonderful food, local fare and imagination. Kim and Eric have continued the super tasting vibe with creations of their own . I still miss the Lobster Poutine though!!
Open Table needs to remove the old menu and put up the new one......the owners have requested this several times....don't lose them !!!
New menu was disappointing. Questionable value for the $. Warmth of service was well below expectations in a small town setting. Sad to see this negative evolution of a great must-go-to-spot for all age groups. Have the changes been based on research or owner preference?
Déçu du plat principal, 3 pétoncles pour $29... pratiquement sans accompagnement! Nous n'y retournerons pas de sitôt
The reincarnation of Carambola is beyond compare in this small town. We are fortunate to have such talented hosts so nearby. Great food & ambiance and BYOB! It is very convenient to peruse the menu prior to going and choose a worthy bottle.

Super resto, le meilleur dans le genre Apportez votre vin et j'inclus les options du centre-ville de Montréal, Rien à envier à la cuisine raffinée et délicieuse que nous retrouvons dans les grands centres. La nouvelle équipe offre des plats goûteux et gourmands, je recommande haut et fort ce resto. Seule note moins agréable, les lumières qui pourraient être plus tamisées quand on près de l'éclairage de la fenêtre principale.
Beau resto, bon menu entrée de pieuvre et les huîtres excellentes le risotto et agneau super on adore apporter notre vin mais le service pour faire ouvrir notre deuxième bouteille a été un peu long ainsi que le service de l’eau !
Excellent restaurant où la nourriture et le service y sont excellents. Petit restaurant de peu de tables ce qui est charmant mais qui fait également que le bruit y est très important aux heures de pointe. A notre arrivée nous avons dû prendre quelques minutes pour nous acclimater au bruit. Suggestion: fermer la musique qui ne fait qu’en ajouter au bruit durant les moments d’importants achalandage.

C'est excessivement cher, la seule chose qui n'ont pas facturé est le poivre et le sel....
Le repas principale de ravioli avait 4 raviolis un repas devrait avoir plus de 4 morceaux.

It's our second time at Carambola and we are again extremely satisfied at all levels. It is worth the drive and we will be back sooner than later. Make sure to reserve before going.
Bistro Carambola changed owners. It use to be a fairly priced menu with gluten-free options. Now, everything on the menu contains wheat and the service did not make it easy for us to find something we could eat.
Also - who charges for bread?

Nous avons été un déçus de plus avoir les tapas au menus. C'était un des seul Resto dans le coin à offrir ce genre de repas. Nous avons aimé notre repas. Très belle présentation, très bon. Un peu cher.
The food was amazing. I’ll be totally honest, I was very disappointed to see that new owners took over and the menu had changed. There were lots of tapas that I was excited to share the experience with someone and was a bit shocked that a perfect menu was changed.
I will return though :)
I have had a hard time finding a restaurant that is good. With good food, good service and a friendly atmosphere. This is the first place I could not find a fault with. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to eat good food.
Always enjoy our evenings at Carambola’s and everyone appreciated the good service as usual! Everything was delicious and my mum especially raved about her Bavette dish which she really loved. I don’t think the medium rare duck breast agreed with me, I’ve never had it cooked that way and didn’t feel too well the next day. Although my husband loved his duck and had no issues and really loved it. The dessert were phenomenal as usual and we had a very nice evening for my husband’s birthday!

Love the place was desapoint at first when I found out the place has been sold but after the meal I was so please that I come back every chance I have! number 1 choice 😍

J’adore l’endroit je dois avouer qu’à ma première visite lorsque j’ai appris que le restaurant avait été vendu j’étais très septique mais après le repas ravie et conquise ! Mon choix numéro 1 quand je veux souper au restaurant!!! DÉLICIEUX et service impeccable!!

Great food and service, we’ll be back for more. The steak was cooked perfectly, as were the scallops. Too bad there’s no alcoholic beverages available but BYOB is an ok alternative.

The food quality is excellent. I love that we can bring our wine, and the service was small town personable. My only suggestion is more choice. Not necessarily lots more, but I am not a big meat eater and there was no veggie options. AND the meat as a not meat eater though unique is often choices that are just a bit to out there for some to consider as an option as in harp seal.... so we are then left with the other options. On one hand I love the unique creative and very nice quality food but just feel limited. We did mention this at end of dinner and I wish I had mentioned first. We were then told there is a veggie pasta at lunch and they could have made that .. but we did not see it on supper menu and so did not assume we could. I ended up with lamb which I do have to say was outstanding. I would come back and ask for any veggie or pasta dishes next time.
I found it unfortunate that we were presented with the special of the day, but when came time to order there was none left. Same situation with the chocolate dessert which was on the main menu.

We were two couples, arrived early 17:45, We both ordered the same starter, octopus $22 a plate. It was delicious but we found it very,very small for that price point. Main courses were good, but again portions are not generous. We found the bread too sweet for our taste and at $2, four small slices don't go far. As we were finishing our meal the table next to us received their starters. Keep in mind the restaurant is very small, the table next to you is less than a foot away, so you have a perfect view of your neighbor"s meal. All four of us were shocked to see the size of the octopus plates served to that table. They were easily twice what we received. I always assumed that all restaurants weighed their portions to ensure fairness. I guess not. Needless to say we felt cheated. We won't come back.
Possibly unfair, but I was expecting a dining experience that would be similar to my previous visits but it is now under new ownership and the menu is entirely different and VERY limited. Our beef filet was well prepared and presented and of good quality but not much different than would be available elsewhere. The on line menu described a large choice of tapas type dishes while the restaurant DOES NOT offer anything like tapas nor that wide choice of items. Service was as good as usual.
Great food... lamb shank and octopus were outstanding...the duck raviolis, sublime. A bit short staffed on service (wait staff) but we were there at peak of Late service. This used to be tapas style now it’s atandard appetizers and mains... new owners who were employees before... BYOB as well so your cellar bottle will be perfect!
Food was excellent and adventurous - the venison tartare was outstanding. Last review I criticized the fact that I had to pay for bread - this time I still had to pay but the price had been halved. Compromise in this day and age is so refreshing and I was able to sop up the delicious sauces without feeling irked!!
Everything was really good. I had gone for dinner previously which I enjoyed thoroughly. So I thought I would give lunch a try!
The veal tartare was so fresh and so tasty!
I wasn't a huge fan of the cauliflower and pancetta risotto I found that it was just a little too Saucy and there was a tang that just wasn't sitting my palate.
I finished with the pumpkin spice panna cotta which was to die for it and it had candied almonds on top... that was a great end with a cappuccino!!!!!
Overall it was a little pricey for lunch but still a nice outing :)

We enjoyed the meal. It was different and good. The oysters were great. The cauliflower and pancetta risotto were different and very good. The halibut was a little too well cooked, but the sauce was good.
Very disappointing, it WAS my favourite restaurant. Would not go back.
