This place is great! Central location and nice relaxing feel overlooking the base of the mountain. Great drink menu and food was very good, and a decent kids menu too. Our server was outstanding, made suggestions for both food and drinks that were right on point. The other reviews must be a few years old, because I can’t find anything to complain about

One of the worst meals we have ever had. We are staying at the Resort for a conference.

My husband had a burger. He was only able to eat half, it was so bad.

I had the trout. My trout was bland, raw in places and only lukewarm. The spinach that came with it was bitter. The fish had a ton of bones. I’ve almost NEVER in my life complained about a meal but this one was awful.

Our waitress never checked on us for our entire meal. When she finally came by it was obvious after 20 minutes when we had a ton of food left. She asked if we were done- not how was it. I told her it was awful and gave specific details. She said OK, thanks for the feedback, and still left the full charge of more than $30 for the fish on our bill. Didn’t offer to comp wine or a dessert or a discount at all. Not even an apology for the horrible meal.

And we left still hungry!!!

DO NOT EAT HERE.

They do not take reservations despite being on open table. They said it’s first come, first serve always & acted like they didn’t know about open table. Do not expect them to honor your reservation

I miss The Peaks dining room for meals in the summer; and Carabiner is a nice substitute for enjoyable dining at the mountain. Carabiner is really a hotspot for apres during ski season. Both always have good vegetarian and flexitarian options on their menu, which is hard to find in Big Sky. I always appreciate their creative cuisine.

This restaurant is closed until Dec 9th! The whole resort closes for the shoulder season but it still let me make a reservation here even though other restaurants didn't so I thought maybe this one stayed open. Disappointed to arrive and have it closed.

On a positive note, We have been to this restaurant several times in season and is great.

We have been going to the Peaks for the last 3 years on our ski visit to Big Sky and were always happy. This was our fourth and we were disappointed. Limited menu and one of the entrees was unavailable. Nothing was necessarily wrong, just not great. The price point is too high for it not be perfect. Will not be going anymore.

This was, hands down, the worst dining experience of my life. We waited an hour for our appetizers, which came out cold. We offered to pay for our drinks and leave at that point. The manager offered to pay for our meal and then brought out our entrees. The steak and eggs were missing the egg and the steak, ordered medium, was barely rare. At the end of the night the manager said he would only comp us the drinks and the appetizers (that we didn't eat). We reminded him that he had offered to pay for our meal and insisted that he do so.

Do not eat at this place. Andiamo, also at the Big Sky Resort was excellent. Great food, great service.

After reading some reviews we decided to try this place. We waited 10 min to wait for our reserved table. Wine ordered took 20 minutes since the mgr who he tge hey to the cellar couldn't be found then for a medium rare rack of lamb I was served bloody rare chops- sent back and it came back STILL rare - as we're my wife's root veggies in her salad. And our server was totally lost and confused with our service. Wow- for these prices it's quite a rip off-sorry

I was SO disappointed by Peaks restaurant. The best service we received all night was from the host. It was all downhill from the moment we were seated. Our waiter introduced himself and asked if we had any questions with the menu or wine list. 15 minutes later a supervisor came rushing up and asked if he could take our order, I told him we were going to order a bottle of wine and then he walked away. 10 minutes later our waiter finally came back and asked if we were ready to order. I was going to ask for a wine recommendation and he said he wasn't familiar with any of the wines (not sure why he offered to answer any questions about the wine list...) We decided on a bottle and ordered an appetizer and put in our dinner order. Waited quite a while for our dinners to arrive. I had the lamb which was pretty good. My husband ordered the spare ribs which were extremely dry and flavorless. He was very disappointed with dinner. After we finished our dinner and our bottle of wine we waited for someone to give us the check. And then waited for them to take the credit card. We basically had to flag someone down to get anything done and unfortunately it wasn't our waiter, who ignored us most of the night.

We came here to celebrate the last night of our honeymoon expecting a nice dinner. At around $40 a plate, we were expecting at least good food. We received mediocre food and terrible service. Not acceptable. It's especially disappointing because there are few options for dinner in the village, most of them on the pricier side. What a let down for our last night in Big Sky. If we do return to Big Sky we will NOT be going back to Peaks. The best part about the night was the bottle of wine that we picked (with no help from our waiter).

It started with the soup that arrived cold. After sending it back, it returned almost inedible being so thick and gelatinous that it could be turned upside down like a DQ Blizzard. Then they eventually delivered the mains. And it wasn't even busy that night. Incredibly uninspiring cooking. Bland and boring dishes. Some of my guests rated it as one of the worst meals at a ski resort, ever.

By coincidence we met the couple beside us at Olive B's. In their words and ours "the mountain of black lentils were gross under the trout and the bison ribs inedible and the polenta like mush".

What more can we say

The food was good but not great. The buffet line/chafing dishes from breakfast were set up - taking away from the overall ambience. The service was initially attentive but when we ordered a second glass of wine, when our main meal was served, the waiter disappeared and forgot about us until we were virtually finished. Disappointed given our initial expectation.

Impressive customer service. Our server was able to explain the different wine selections and what each one tasted like. I chose a Pinot Noir from Oregon and it was terrific. I ordered a spinach salad and asked them to trade the pears for roasted beats and to hold the candied pecans. They were very accommodating with all my requests. Dinner was cooked perfectly and we had a wonder time.

When I went to Peaks, every member of my party had something wrong with their initial dish. My bison ribeye was too rare, my dad's pork chop tasted like it had been "cooked in salt" and my sister's pasta sauce was questionable. In the end, all of those problems were remedied, by I suggest that you don't go big at Peaks. Although it is a Montana-themed restaurant with dishes like bison and elk, stick to a chicken breast or salad and you won't have the ordeal my party had to endure.

We came to Peaks hoping it would be our delicious final meal of vacation. We were incredibly wrong. Martinis were lukewarm with wilting olives served in the wrong glasses. Lobster bisque was served cold and presentation was kind of thrown at my fiancee. Caesar salad was fine but nothing to write home about. We were so disappointed that we left after appetizers and went back to an Italian restaurant we knew we liked and would enjoy one more time. Ambiance wanted to be a nice restaurant but felt very outdated. Breakfast buffet still set up for the next day, seemed strange that a nice restaurant couldn't stand to pick up their buffet for a nice dinner service. Would NOT recommend at all.

The dinner at Peaks was the best food and service we had in Big Sky.
Our server was attentive and the chef came out and spoke with us, as well.
Presentation and favors of the food was exceptional and the wine list was very good with reasonable pricing. Simply a great night!

Very disappointed especially for the price point, you will be better off having a burger at scissorbills I promise. The best part of the Resturant was the stuffed mushrooms. The bison ribeye was 1/4 inch thick which in steak terms is a slice of bacon. Fish special had no flavor, the price quotes was $35 and I was charged $47. It took forever for cocktails. I feel like with a few tweaks this spot could be worth the money.

Dined at Peaks over valentines weekend. We ordered the special which was the 14oz fillet with 14oz lobster surf n turf. The lobster was ok but the fillet was awfully tough. The twice baked potato was also sub par. For the money, you would expect a tender cut, especially since we ordered it medium rare. It was cooked correctly, just happened to be a tough piece of meat. Very odd for a fillet mignon. Dessert (frozen smore) was splendid. The restaurant was nice and it was clean. Our server was really personable and for the most part prompt. For the money I would not recommend dining here. If you find yourself dining there, maybe try a more economical choice off the menu.

Breakfast buffet was fresh and very good. We ate breakfast there very day for a week.

We tried dinner one night on Christmas Eve and the staff were not trained well; the food took a very long time and was not cooked properly (the elk could not be cut even with a serrated knife, the trout was cold by the time it got to us and the crab cakes mediocre at best). Would not eat there for dinner again.

Big Sky fine dining is a bit behind in sophistication, as this place demonstrates. The staff is friendly, but has no expertise. The food is good, and the surroundings comfortable and pleasant. Hopefully they can kick it up a notch, as the location inside the Summit Hotel is the most convenient if you're staying at Big Sky Resort.
