We had a reservation for 6:45 and waited until 7:15 before leaving. They never assured us a table would be ready soon and kept telling us 15 more minutes. Awful customer service, not really sure what the point of a reservation is.

Dined here on Saturday night. The food was excellent! Slightly loud at the beginning, but as the night progressed the restaurant quieted down.

Our family enjoyed a meal here before a show - excellent! I had the seafood fra diavolo and fresh pasta option which was very good. Large half lobster, much calamari, and tender mussels and clams. Only small complaint, the spice level was quite low. Beyond that excellent flavor! Nice fresh salads and appetizers were great. All enjoyed. Nice selection of Italian wines even by the glass. Will return and recommend to anyone. Word of caution - weekend night before a show GET RESERVATIONS. It was a mad house with unruly folks outside that did not have reservations.

Food was excellent, from the appetizers to the main course. Portion sizes were very good for NY and the prices were reasonable. Service was terrific, and the place was very warm and welcoming. Would definitely go again.

Really disappointing. Lousy service. Made to feel the wait staff experience was more important than mine. Don’t even think about spending the higher dollars to be treated like an annoyance. I won’t return nor will I suggest my company go there.

The food was outstanding! Just the perfect amount for pre-theater! We were very relaxed and not rushed at all. A really hidden gem! Prix-Fixe was fabulous!

Great food, great place. Chose it because I remembered it was quiet. We had a great business meeting.

Topped of with “as good as grandma’s” ricotta cheesecake.

Well done.

When I arrived on time I was told to wait another 10 minutes. There were people outside still waiting for their reservation from 45 minutes ago. We waited around a total of 30 minutes and then left.

This is another good restaurant to have in your pocket for when you are in the mood for some good straightforward, red-sauce Italian. Had some interesting specials and homemade pastas. Nice wine selection. And it doesn't break the bank.

We were there before a show, and we dine all over. I was very happy to be able to add this into the rotation of restaurants for dining out.

Feels very much like a typical New York City restaurant without lots of frills or gimmicks. That's comforting.

A return visit after a wonderful lunch - this time for dinner -- excellent prix-fixe for $20.. puree of mushroom soup - heavenly! and 2 excellent pastas - capellini primavera and rigatoni siciliana.. and a glass of Chianti as part of Happy Hour. We are returning next week for lunch -- so that means we love this place!

Always a great place for dinner or pre-theater dinner. Courteous service, good food, varied menu. Their homemade pasta dishes are delicious and the prix-fixe dinner is a great deal. Walking distance to Broadway theaters.

I started dining at Cara Mia almost three years ago. I live in Kansas City and visit a few times a year. It's delicious. I swear we have the same server every time and he is wonderful. Two of our kids live in NYC now and every time we go to visit they ask if we are going to Cara Mia. It has a special place in our hearts. This time around we celebrated our 14 year old daughter's birthday. It was perfect.

Not real Italian food and bad quality with too much sauce. Somebody order spaghetti with clams and there was only 4 clams on the dish. Once we left we noticed it even had a B rating.

As out of towners my mom and I were looking for a restaurant that wasn’t something “everyone around times share” was going to. Wandering into Cara Mia was one of the highlights of our trip. Wonderful staff, amazing food! Definitely a place I will return to and suggest to others!

Not good. Tables were crammed in and we were bumped several times. Someone trying to walk by knocked over a plate from our table.
Baked clam appetizer was the first time I can remember that I didn't like baked clams.
Entrees were mediocre.
With literally dozens of restaurants to choose from in the neighborhood, choose one of them.

We have been coming to Cara Mia's for years and yes there are alot of good restaurants
in the theatre district, but Cara Mia's is consistently excellent in not only the quality of their food
but the presentation and care that goes into preparing their meals is what keeps us coming back
time after time. Last night I had a Chilean sea bass with grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, and asparagus that was to die for. My husband loves their rigatoni melanzane(which I tasted and was excellent).
