Bocca Di Bacco (Theatre District - 45th St.)
Don't Tell Mama NYC
Dinner: Sunday - Wednesday 4pm - 11pm
Thursday - Saturday 4pm - 12am
So-so food and service before a show. Would not repeat.
Food and service were excellent! But there was no air conditioning on this hot, humid day!
This second outpost of Cara Mia had been renamed Galo Nero, but it still shares the same excellent menu as its uptown (by 1-1/2 blocks) sister. The prix fixe menu can't be beat. Service likewise. I had the salmone, and my dining partners ordered the pasta primavera and the gnocchi pesto. All were scrumptious! The street noise is pretty ridiculous, but that's NYC.
There lunch special of $9.95 cant be beat in the theater district
The service is excellent. Food is delicious. I have eaten at Cara Mia before and have enjoyed each visit.
We had a wonderful pre-show meal here. Staff was super friendly and efficient, great menu and prices. Wine and limited beer available. Definitely a place we'd return to.
Good place authentic atmosphere feels like an old school Italian restaurant menu was excellent, wait staff was excellent
Horrible customer service. Food was good but I wasn't impressed.
Cara Mia is an old standby when I am in the theater district. My colleague and I were there last week and the meal was exceptional. we shared a caesar salad which was
beautifully seasoned. You could taste a little anchovy and lemon and it really was
lovely. I had a fettucine dish with mushrooms that was also delicious. Seems to me that the kitchen has upped its game---they have always been good, but this was a couple of
notches above that.
Like restaurant a lot. Salmon delicious, service very good, great location
Great staff. Made our visit a wonderful experience. Watched my grandson perform some of his magic tricks and shared one of their own! Food was very good. Would definitely return
We had a great dinner - great food, service and value!
The food was wonderful and the prices for lunch can't be beat!!!!
Great is the only adjective I would use!
Cara Mia is my go to theater restaurant.
I have taken atlradt 6 friends there and they have all returned at other times . So I am a good advertiser for Cara Mia!
This has become my favorite restaurant when visiting NYC. The food is authentic — like my Grandma’s authentic! The waitstaff is extremely attentive, but not overbearing. It’s always an enjoyable experience— so much so, I think about it for days afterwards. Coming from a large Italian family, it feels like “home.”
All was good. Ordered the eggplant with pasta. Heavy on the pasta. Light on the eggplant.
Food was very good, as usual. Was a bit noisy, especially when we first got there. I ordered dessert and took a while to be served so I thought they forgot.
Cara Mia is a wonderful pre-theater restaurant. The prix-fixe dinner at 19.95 is a treat, but the handmade pasta dishes are sensational. My favorite is pappardelle with three kinds of mushrooms - sensational, and inimitable! My friend ordered the gnocchi, which came in a delicious red sauce. Everything is great there - the salmon, the salads, it's a find in the city.
Great last minute find. Great location and delicious food the Gnocci was to die for!
The pasta has no flavor. Pizza was ok. Porcini risotto for 26$ was completely not worth it!!
Service was very slow. We were served water and waited five more mutes before anyone returned to take our drink or menus order. The menus selections were interesting but the wait to be served was disappointing. My fish, though flavorful, was luke warm and the broccoli was cold.
One of my favorite pre- theater stops. Moderately priced.
Great service and excellent food. They do not have a full bar, but the wine list was great and the sangria was delicious. Our waiter was friendly and helpful as well. We were not sure what to order and he gave some great options.
once again we had a nice meal at Cara Mia (the original). The pre-fixed menu is a nice value and allows you to eat in plenty of time to make your show.
My brother and I each had a salad (caesar and mixed greens) and then he had a pasta dish and I had grilled pork. Both were excellent.
I highly recommend Cara Mia as a neighborhood gem!
Just about Everything was bland. Salad was underdressed. Had one of the pasta specials and it was flavorless. If we didn’t have a show, we would have sent at least a couple dishes back. I think just about any place around the corner on restaurant row would have been better.
Very friendly greeting at the entry and at the table. All specials were explained in full. Service was very good and the food was excellent. We will return.
The staff were courteous, professional and helpful. The five ladies in my group all ordered different dishes. Each one was delicious.
Excellent food. Service was very good by our server Diana. Pasta was fresh.
The staff here are wonderful!! Sylvester was on top of all our needs. He was definitely the highlight tho. The food was just ok and the restaurant was unbearably hot.
Go to Cara Mia for all our celebrations!
A pre-theater standout, great food and prompt service in a pleasant atmosphere for a reasonable price. Love the pasta primavera and delicious salads. And, you can get a reservation. Try it!
A five-star rating for this restaurant might be a bit over the top, but for its lack of pretention and what it promises, Cara Mia delivers beyond expectation. Their prix fixe lunch menu is a true bargain, and the Pollo Limone is superb as is their balsamic dressing. So is the Pistachio Cheesecake. (The Creme Brulée is good tasting but it lacks a crunchy top.) Modest prices and quality vintages exalt their wines by the glass. (Even the chiantis hold good value.)
For locals or out-of-towners: not only is Cara Mia a great place to meet a friend coming into Penn Station or Port Authority, it’s an easy walk from Columbus Circle or even Rockefeller Center. Relax.Come for an unhurried lunch or afternoon coffee. (Reservations are a must in the evenings.)
Went for 9.95 lunch special. Food was ample and delicious.
Consistently good meals, pleasant environment and great value.
Reliable Italian food in Hell's Kitchen area of NYC. Close to the theaters, too. Would definitely go again.
This is a reliable restaurant for pre-theater. The food is good and the staff very attentive. The prices are reasonable except the glasses of wine which is high.
Niceplace food was served promptly and was excactly as described It was rather noisy however and that made conversation a little difficult
The service and food have always been above expectations here.. The special pasta/seafood dishes are excellent and my favorite is La Fiorentina! Thanks you again for a wonderful meal!
Excellent food- lovely professional and concerned service in a quiet refined atmosphere. Perfect location near theater- not touristy - we had a delicious meal- fairly priced and well prepared.
The restaurant is cramped with the tables so close that I could not get in my chair without the person behind me moving her chair. The front door was left open with prospective customers peering in to look while cold damp air rushed in the restaurant. The service was spotty at best.
