First of all, the view is absolutely breathtaking!! I had a steak and the meat was very tender and well seasoned. I also recommended the Mixed Berry Panna Cotta, it’s delicious! Very nice experience overall, 10/10.

the restaurant was really nice, with some good views of the city. Food was pretty good but for the price, the portions were kind of small. I would recommend the meat tacos! The cocktails start at $20 but the drinks were pretty strong. Only cons was the service, stayed for an hour and the waiter never checked up on us, so we didn’t get to order more drinks or desert. Also be cautious if you’re using valet, looked like they leaned on my car and brushed up on the paint all along the driver side.

Made reservations on a Monday night at 7:30 pm and there were no crowds. It was just past sunset and we got to experience beautiful views of the LA skyline. The restaurant is located on the PH level of the Proper Hotel. The hotel staff and valet were great. They escorted us on the short walk from the outside doors to the elevators and pressed the button. The food was very tasty and had modest portion sizes. The foccacia, basically a pizza, was the size of a small personal pizza. We got the Chorizo + Queso Oaxaca and White Trumpet Mushroom and both were delicious! The steak fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside — perfection. The Piri Piri Fried Chicken were bite-sized, boneless strips and had a very tiny slight kick for those that cannot tolerate any spice lol. You can cool it down with the green cilantro aioli sauce it came with. For dessert, we tried the S’mores Tart as recommended by our waitress and it was so good! It wasn’t very s’mores flavor forward, which is what I liked, as someone who is not a huge fan of s’mores haha. It had a graham cracker crust and a thick almost fudgy chocolate filling and a slightly torched marshmallow on top, which wasn’t too sweet. It being not too sweet is probably why I enjoyed it. Additionally, we received a chilled slice of banana that was dipped in melted chocolate with a slice of a banana as my birthday treat. I’ve never had banana bread dipped in chocolate before. The banana bread was dense and delicious. Again, not overly sweet. Cons include no balloons or outside food allowed and a cake cutting fee of $5 per slice. Paid parking lots or valet available.

Great vibe with amazing views of DTLA skyline. The food and drinks were also excellent and the service was great. Highly recommend but bring a jacket if there is any wind in the forecast!

As a guest of the hotel, we had dinner here the first night. Top spot with beautiful view, and the food there was really delicious. Only the service....... what an arrogant people. Servants who do not make contact at all, throw your dishes on the table and disappear as fast as possible. 2nd night ate at the neighbors on the roof terrace. There they were hospitable. Upon returning we thought we would have a drink at Cabra's on the roof terrace. So I sit down at a table, and then a new waiter arrives in front of me, really heavily irritated, and asks if I reported to the host to be allowed to sit here.... because this is the only place to eat. 10:10 p.m. in the evening and the host who obviously received me joins and then briefly explains that I can only sit at the bar because tables are only for eating. Logical, but the bar was full and so were the lounge spots. Then I think, tell me in advance. My question if there are still people coming to eat at 10:10 p.m. with about 8 tables free around me she says that is indeed the case. Will all be well, and I am sent away .... but most disturbing is the arrogant manner and rude attitude of the serving staff, that bothers me greatly. Been to the Hoxton regularly in London too, but there the hospitality feels a whole lot better. A shame because the chef cooks the stars from heaven.

Terrible service at the entrance. we wanted a party of 20 people at the lounge area. The lounge area was completely empty and they did not let my guest is. It was beyond stupidity. We did not have a waiter there was plenty of couches vacant, and my guest that came on vacation got sent home for no logical reason. I went down stairs to try to talk to the lady in charge of letting pleople in, and she would not let them in, I begged her and told her the lounge area was empty and that we did not need a waiter, we were going to the bar to get our own drinks. she could not look me in the face and did not want to answer my questions, she was just mad she had to work. Never seen anything like this in my life. made no sense,. Never going back

Took my daughter for her 21st bday. When I made a reservation I let them know it was her birthday and anything they could do to make it special would be great. This did not happen at all. I can't take any rating away from them for this because it was a special request and they are not obliged to honor it. We arrived 5 minutes before a reservation at 7:30 and they stated that they were cleaning the table from the last guess and it would be about 5 minutes. This turned into 10 and when we got to our table it was clear nobody had been sitting there because there were pine needles all over the seats still. And it was literally the farthest table away from anything in the restaurant. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes for your drinks. When she delivered the drinks we ordered our meal. About 25 minutes after ordering dinner, one person's plate came out. No appetizers. We asked the server about our appetizers and she let us know that they bring everything out as made and stuff doesn't always come out together. She was going to go check on it. As she went to her computer, we could overhear her telling another server that she forgot to order them. Another server/ manager or lead brought two other plates out. Still no appetizers. We asked him then about our appetizers and he told us they bring everything out as it's made but their very busy and he would check. This is also a big issue with me, maybe I missed it somewhere, but the point of going to dinner together is to eat together. I don't want to be the only person at the table eating/waiting/done and I was raised that it is bad manners to start eating before everyone has their plate. We finally got our last dinner plate and not too long after that our appetizers. The food was decent, some of it cold by the time we all had our plates. Our server did have her manager comp the appetizers, which I did appreciate greatly. But after $330 for 3 burgers, clams, & 6 drinks, I expected more.

The menu is small, but they do a nice job with everything, so you shouldn't mind. The view and atmosphere are fantastic. The specialty cocktails are incredible; I particularly enjoyed A Night in Talum.

Visited Cara Cara with a group of 4 and ordered several dishes to share per the server’s recommendation. The portions were very small, which was disappointing given the prices. The sauce that came with the fried chicken was tasty. The lobster rolls and mushroom focaccia pizza were good, but again, so small! We also ordered the clams, which were tasty, but had more sand than any shellfish dish I’ve ever encountered. A server apologized for this and gave us a free dessert when we mentioned it. The cocktails were very overpriced at around $21 per drink. The views, plants, decor and ceiling mural in the lobby were the most notable parts of the experience. Overall, great ambiance- not great value.

Rooftop ambience was amazing. We ordered ceviche, piru piru, clams, tacos. All were excellent, the ceviche especially so. Clams, which server had warned might be too spicy, were somewhat underseasoned for my palate, but perfectly cooked. Service was attentive but never overbearing. A great experience.

The melon salad was excellent but arrived at first incomplete. We had to ask them to remake it. The server was uninterested and not incredibly helpful. However, the busboy Esteban was excellent. Making sure we had water and providing glasses and cutlery when items hit the ground. We never had dirty dishes on the table.
