The F&B was awesome! The food was very delicious as well as the espresso martinis. It was a cold day in LA so we moved after dinner from outside inside the bar. That is a great concept. Very wonderful experience. The server was on top of it; excellent service and very hospitable.

The view and drinks were superb! The staff were also attentive and caring, and made an extra effort to not only do something special for our anniversary, but even went far enough to make a dairy free dessert since one of us has an allergy. The only drawback was the entrees were a little disappointing considering how top notch the rest of the offerings are both at Cara Cara and at other restaurants at the Proper. The steak frites were moist but a bite size offering, and the burger was dry and cooked beyond well done. Both plates were 3/4 full of French fries, which were cooked wonderfully, but wasn’t what we expected. Just the same, had we known that going in, we’d still go for the fantastic views and delicious cocktails.

I'm a big fan of Suzzane Goin restaurants. She is a talented chef. The rooftop is stellar with a view of downtown. I was really looking forward to this dinner and it was enjoyable. The biggest problem I had were all of the additional fees on the bill at the end of the night including a large 'wellness' line item. It's unfortunate that the restaurant industry can't figure out how to pay their employees properly without nickel and dimming the customers with entitlements. The tipping culture has gotten way out of hand too. Perhaps they can do away with all of these line items and raise their prices to a fair price the covers the expenses to pay their employees properly and stop asking customers to fork over and additional 20-30% on top of what they are already paying for premium priced food, cocktails and wine. I would love to come back but I'm not sure my husband and I will because of sticker shock.

The place was beautiful and the drinks were really good. I got the Halibut and honestly thinking of the dish as a whole, it lacks a little flavor since the beans and the fish don’t have much of a pungent flavor, both sort of fall flat so I kept eating fries for the salt I was missing. But overall very nice, would return

The cocktails were the standout at Cara Cara. Carefully crafted and nicely balanced, they fit the theme and location of the restaurant perfectly. The food was just okay. We ordered the Al Pastor tacos, carrot tacos, ceviche, and avocado bruschetta. Neither me or my guest cared much of the flavors. The ceviche had too many ingredients and are served with roughly 6 tortilla chips. When we asked for additional chip we were given an additional 6 on a small plate. The bruschetta had a charred taste that didn’t compliment the avocado or bread choice well. The Al pastor tacos presented more like carnitas, and were shockingly greasy. The only way to discern they were pastor and not carnitas was the pineapple salsa served atop. They were good but I avoided the grease soaked tortillas. Location is very cool. The views, decor and terraced layout are beautiful and well designed but the food leaves a lot to be desired for - especially in the Mexican/Latin food capital of the world. 3 out of 5.

Lovely older hotel. Can’t help taking photos of the painted ceiling. Attendants make a big deal of escorting you to elevator as it’s primarily for hotel guests. Inside area for restaurant is shared by bar, so there is only space for three tables. All other seating is outside. Only a few space heaters. We were on uncovered patio and grateful for one heater. Table of girls next to us were freezing. Views are lovely of DTLA. Food is okay but nothing to write home about. Bruschetta was good. Burger on brioche bun was good. Requested well done and it came pretty much incinerated and hard. We were hungry, so no matter. Our server Stephen was friendly and working hard to cover a good portion of patio guests. I would come here for a drink and app or coffee and dessert. Just a little bite to enjoy the views. But wait till the city warms up a bit!

Cara Cara presnets a nice spot to dine in and hang out with friends or family in DTLA. At the PH, 16 floors above ground, Cara Cara offers a fun and festive environment overseeeing Los Angeles sky line and more, an almost 360 degree view of the city. The plates are small, though nicely decorated with quality ingredients. Expect to spend some extra on apetizers if you are coming in hungry. The highlight were the beverages, which are flavorful and fruit rich, in sone of the cases. The service, however, was quite slow. Definitely fill up on aperizers and drinks, which are served much quicker!

My wife and I loved this restaurant and definitely plan on coming back soon. The rooftop view is amazing. The food and drinks were great and very balanced in flavor. Our waitress Nicole was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided great service. Looking forward to our next visit.

The aesthetics are amazing and it feels like being in another country. Very tasteful interior design, rooftop views amazing and the atmosphere was very fun. I had the halibut - the sauce was amazing but the fish too salty and the panna cotta was delicious. I don’t remember the name of the red Portuguese wine we ordered but it was memorable (and I’m French!). Overall recommended and I cannot wait to go back!

We had brunch at Cara Cara, located in the Proper hotel. Great ambience and views from the rooftop, service was awesome and the food is good as well. I would definitely go back and also have to highlight the great drink options they have. Good place for a relaxing brunch and taking pictures.
