Captain James Landing
Good service and good food.
We made reservations and our table was ready. The service was great. The food was exceptional. I would recommend it to any one.
Went for brunch, delicious imperial Chesapeake Benedict. Crab cakes were also very good.
Great meal....very quick service... I'll be back!
The crab I go was so fresh! All of our party of 5 were happy with their meal!
We had the stuff mushrooms for appetizers ,, The Entree was stuff shrimp both were good . The green beans were seasoned well however the grits and beacon were average ..no sure if i would recommend them .. I wanted to go upstairs however it was closed .. I believe they were trying to fill down stairs first. Watch your bill , the waiter added 20% tip to our check
Used to be a nice restaurant, but has begun nickel and dimming patrons which is usually a sign of a business struggling. Quality of food has declined also.
Excellent service and great experience for first time being there. Food was excellence
Mother’s Day is always a challenge because of the sheer volume of those dining. But Captain James did well overall. The service was good. The food was tasty. Of course it was expensive (over $250 for 3 people) but you are prepared for that on Mother’s Day
Everything we had was delicious, crab stuffed mushrooms, crab stuffed shrimp and crab cakes. Highly recommend
I am glad I purchased the deal for this restaurant on Groupon. My husband thought the stuffed flounder was great and I really enjoyed my crab cake dinner. The service was very good and the atmosphere pleasant. We will definitely return.
Been there several times. Always an outstanding experience. Everyone is great
I really loved the food. It was great for date night. And the server was great. He was very down to earth and made us feel comfortable. He also recommended some great food and told us about some of the specials for that day. I would definitely come back again. The only thing we didn't like, was the seating arrangement. The tables are very close together and the space is very small. Next time we will definitely ask for a booth instead, but everything else was great. Even the food was made wonderfully and it was worth the price. Thank you Captain James!
I made reservations to celebrate our Anniversary several days earlier for 6 pm and waited over 45 minutes for our table. After placing our entree orders we waited another 25 minutes for our food. The food was very good as always but the wait time was unacceptable. You think they would have comped us SOMETHING for the 45 minutes we waited for our reservation! maybe skip the $1 up charge for asparagus? Not sure I’ll be going back there anytime soon.
Been a few times before. Food was good, as well as the service use a groupon .
If you are a foodie and love seafood this is a great laid back experience. Would do it again.
We were sat so close to another table it was very uncomfortable.
There were so many open tables that the host was reserving for tables that were coming in later ?
Why make a reservation if we were going to get a bad table anyway?
Also the first waiter did not even acknowledge us until after we were sitting there for 15 minutes.
The second waiter (after we moved tables) was fantastic. He came right over to us, was very insightful and friendly!
My friend and I weren’t interested in the entrees options but they did have a nice selection of entrees. The apps were AMAZING. We ordered the crab quesadilla, CJ Fries, shrimp and garlic, hush puppies and chicken wings. For desert we had funnel cake fries!! We will be back again for the same thing.
Very enjoyable place to enjoy a low-stress lunch. The starters were very adequate for a mid-day meal without moving on to the entre.
Our server was name Garay. We actually met at the door, he was coming from across the street. I believe he is one of the managers. He was very friendly. He seated us and also served us. This was our first time and we asked him for his recommendation. The items he recommended was excellent choices. We really enjoyed our meal. If the rest the staff is that way, well let's say we will be back to fine out.
The food was delicious. We arrived at 9:30 pm for our reservation. The restaurant closed at 10 pm. Our server was rude to us. He immediately looked at his watch and told us we had twenty minutes to go. We had a pound of steam shrimp as an appetizer that was delicious. I had the Greek salad and my friend had cream of crab soup. They both were good. We both had a crab cake platter that was delicious with steamed vegetables and rice. Overall the food was the best but the server was horrible. That was my second time there.Last visit the server was new and really bad service also but the food was delicious. I ordered the steamed seafood platter with the lobster tail. We had seafood nachos for the appetizer that was ok. My friend has the crab cake platter that was delicious. We will be returning again soon for the delicious food.I just hope the service is better.
Had a 24 hour trip to Baltimore this is how they resolved our seating issue. Why were we trying to keep two tables separate though we were one party? Because, unfortunately, in my haste in purchasing Groupons I did not read the fine print that states use is only one per table. Fine, no problem... I own that mistake. But now I'm a NC resident with 2 Groupons I didn't need or use. Our waiter was decent but this was only after she was snarky about the use of Groupons as soon as we sat down! Our party of professionals was quite appalled at this but for the sake of us being incredibly hungry and just have driven 5 hours to come specifically to this restaurant I kept my mouth laced tight. Admittedly, I'm from the South so perhaps great customer service is just what we do. So “bless our thumpin’ gizzards” for expecting it. My family was right- shoulda gone to Mo's! I'm incredibly sorry we didn't!
Nothing fancy but food was very good and well prepared. Nice atmosphere in great part of town, Fell's Point. Would definitely go back.
Frequent guest. Quick mid-day lunch with friend. New server but most friendly and competent. Simple but tasty lunch fare.
Update menu on website — the steamer bucket is only available on Thursdays :(
Very disappointing to arrive and find out I could not order it.
No friggin crabs.... How did that happen? Came from California just to eat crab
My family and I really enjoyed ourselves. The food was very good and our waitress was excellent. We will be back again.
One of the best places in Baltimore for crabs, with a unique decor and building shape.
Great place to catch up with friends over a quality meal! We enjoyed the food and the service was good yet unobtrusive. We would recommend this to anyone in the area.
Great food and service!!!
Captain James was, as usual, excellent. It was a well paced meal, and the upstairs dining room is really nice. Our party got 2 seafood platters, and everything was cooked to a tee. Perfect. And the lambchops were also cooked perfectly, medium rare as order. Highly recommend.
Great place for an afternoon lunch, food was good. Crabs a bity pricey and were light in weight.
You cant go wrong with captain james ever never a disappointment.
dinner was very crowded. small venue for a wheelchair (when that crowded). great service and good food though
Simply amazing- thank you for a wonderful night out!
GREAT FOOD!! Outstanding service, Good atmosphere, will be back!!!
Upon being seated I let the greeter know that we had a 5:00 reservation. We were 10 minutes early. The greeter tried to seat us in a tale in the middle of the aisle. Table looked like they squeezed it in. He did eventually change us and the food took 40 minutes to receive. No one ever sat at the aisle table the entire time we were there.
Delicious food! Service was good. Perfect indoor temperature and lighting.
Great food and service and the price was easy on our wallet.
Very good service. Helpful server.
Yummy salmon, fresh vegetables, and great choices of kids meals.
Free parking was very helpful.
