Broiled Seafood Platter with Lobster Tail
Was not impressed with the decor or ambiance. The place had three customers in there yet the wait staff seemed impatient and one waitress knew no English and got an attitude when all I asked was for a towel to wipe a wet chair. The chair I was to sit on 🙄. The kids enjoyed the food and it was good food, but the staff attitude and heavy gloomy decor made that a no for me for a repeat trip.
So much limited menu.
We like it here..parking , close to home,
but come on, $37 for a, yes, a crab cake....
I enjoyed the variety and since I've been there before, I found selecting one item difficult. My final selection was for lamb chops and they were great!
Everything was great, the only reason for the 4 stars was that the crab legs were just okay, a bit small for the price and under seasoned as well as the staff was a bit over extended so it at time took a bit longer than usual to get things like water refills. Still would love to go back!
2nd time here and we got the same waitress. (Can’t remember her name) She’s lovely and recognized me from a few weeks ago. I’ll be back again.
Food was great! Service was lack luster! Gratuity was added to my bill and it was only two of us. This restaurant should NEVER charge gratuity for a table for two. I’m left to question if it was added because the waitress was aware of her poor service and feared her tip would reflect such!
The waitress had no personality and hardly spoke or gave advice (no info on drinks, no info on type of oysters, etc). The food was rather over priced but mostly good except for the filet mignon which was quite bad (tasted like banquet quality).
Just ok. Overpriced.
It was ok.. food was just so so
The waitress added both 18% and 20% gratuity after serving the check- this seemed more so sketchy than an actual accident. We also ordered a seafood platter, the crab balls tasted bland and had extra, extra filler with peppers, only one scallop, small (around 3oz) fish, 2 shrimp, and 1/2 a snow crab. I was surprised by the contents of the platter given the price. There are several local spots that provide better quality food for better prices.
Service work good food was ok price was fair. Location was great I love Fells Point.
We haven’t been to Captain James Landing since before the start of the pandemic. It was great to be there again. We were disappointed that there’s no longer the extensive breakfast menu that they had prior to the pandemic, but the food was good and we’ll be back. I miss the biscuits! Thanks and best wishes!
Great crabs: great service: great food
Great blue crab frittata, the waffles were fine.
Food is always good. Too bad about the price increases due to the crab prices
I miss the old breakfast menu but my pancakes were fluffy and delicious.
We had brunch and the food was very tasty. Service seemed more interested in helping larger tables than our table of two. Took a couple attempts to get the check and the waitress was a bit snippy. Probably will not return.
Great waitress and drinks. Was not a fan of the fried fish tacos. The crab dip was amazing though 💙
very nice, pretty good busy time and good food. suggest reservation before booked up fast.
The Menu changed because of Covid. But still loved everything. I'm a vegeterian I only come for breafast but over all everything good. Fiancee tried shrimp in his omelet he liked it.
Food was excellent and so was their sangria! Highly recommend the seafood broil.
Filet mignon was delicious. Boyfriend ordered his rare and I ordered mine medium. Mine was delicious and my boyfriend said his melted in his mouth. Crab dip also yummy.
Food was great, Service was great. Overall experience was great.
My family enjoyed everything about Captain James Landing we will be back.
First time eating their food was amazing the service was great when we come back I deathly have to try the crab we ate so much that we can sit any more food in wonderful place to go to!
Great place for family and friends outing or just date night with a loved one. Excellent food and the bloody Mary oyster shot is delicious and amazing.
Great food, awesome atmosphere, fantastic service!
Would not eat there again, lobster tails were hard ,bland ,no taste to them at all
Please stop allowing patrons and their dogs to dine inside the establishment. Regardless if the excuse is “pet friendly “ have some discernment for guest venturing back from a Pandemic only to see a family be seated next to you with a dog in tow!😳really....check plz
As with anything else Covid, restaurants are trimming back menu selection because they simply are losing money trying to serve fresh food. This is definitely the case here but the selection of food is still really really good. I’m praying that once they get busy again they’ll bring back some of their signature selections however, the menu was definitely satisfying and the food was awesome
I always enjoy my time at Captain James....they never disappoint
We went for brunch. It was excellent.
We both had crabmeat omelettes. Chock full of crab. The potatoes that came with it were amazing. I ordered a side of cheddar grits and wished I'd ordered a triple helping. They were that good and I am picky about my grits.
The mimosas were just ok. I think the champagne they use is not dry enough so we both found them too sweet.
But the food was outstanding and so was the service.
Captain James Landing, provided quick seating with reservations, easy parking, delicious seafood, friendly waitress, nice ambience, my family had a great time.
Everything was delicious! Seafood Alfredo was outstanding. Will definitely return.
The outside of this restaurant is half the fun since it is in the shape of a ship. Inside are rounded port windows to watch the action on the busy Baltimore street outside. The seafood selection is very good. A great place to stop if touring in Baltimore.
The calamari was a bit bland, salmon with pesto Fettuccine was bland with no pesto flavor. But the portion was great! Crab cake, wings, and chicken chesapeake were good. They no longer give you bread for the table due to covid-19 according to the server. ?
Our experience was fantastic. Had the broiled seafood platter, delicious. The server was great.
The best part? The crab dip appetizer. Truly outstanding
Eating there was a great experience. Me and a friend of mine had the Blue Crab and it was just like I remembered having as a little kid. The server was very attentive and even taught me a better way to pick a crab. Well worth the visit.
I would recommend because the prices are pretty good for the amount of food you receive. The wait staff was courteous. I didn't like the fact that I made a reservation and was seated near the restrooms!
The only food worth having was my crab cake. All of our sides, the grilled shrimp and grits were all over cooked and under seasoned. They have a very limited cocktail menu and the atmosphere was too loud to enjoy even a casual conversation. I would not recommend nor return to this establishment despite an attentive server.
