I have had very enjoyable meals at Caprice on many occasions over the years. Last night, I ordered the Puy Lentil salad with sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese. I got the night's special of lentil soup. I didn't complain and the soup was tasty. My companion's green salad was very good. We had an extraordinarily long wait for main courses. The dining room was almost empty by the time I asked her if she forgot to order our main courses. She was very apologetic and said she was embarrassed by how long it was taking. She came back a while later and said they were being plated but to make up for the long wait she was going to comp my wine. My companion's flat iron looked perfect to me but I agree with him, it was not medium well as he requested. My short rib with soft polenta didn't nearly measure up to my expectations. The plate looked like what was left at end of evening. I got the chocolate cake for dessert. She brought the bill but the wine was not comped as promise. I didn't complain and paid the bill rather than stay longer. I won't rush to return. I still tipped more than 20 percent despite our experience.

We had a wonderful dinner at Caprice for our 56th Wedding Anniversary. The entire staff was friendly but our waiter, Nick, was outstanding. He greeted us and when I told him it was our anniversary, he wanted to know our secret to success. He quickly told us about the specials and answered our questions throughout the meal. When I asked him to take our picture, my sweet husband , jokingly picked up a piece of bread and began eating instead of being romantic in the picture. That broke the ice and we started sharing our life story with Nick. He was genuinely interested and when I offered more pics, he wanted to hear more. Nick made our party of two more fun because we love talking with people about our life. But then let’s talk about the food. WOW. Caprice is one of my favorite restaurants but the food that night seemed exceptionally good. I had the Sole Special - moist, tasty and paired with thinly sliced veggies rolled and baked in a thin crust - that was so good I slowed down to savor every bite. My husband had Lamb Chops. He thoroughly enjoyed them and gave me a taste. Amazing. Sure wish I could duplicate that in my kitchen. Dessert was a pecan delight with bourbon caramel sauce over pecans and vanilla ice cream. The whole experience was delightful as was Nick, our waiter. I highly recommend Caprice. We go often - I usually get their butternut squash risotto - and it will continue to be our “go to” restaurant.

Excellent restaurant! Fabulous food, delightful patio to dine on picturesque State Street, and good service. The food was top notch, my father ordered the most expensive thing on the menu, the filet mignon, which was as big as my fist and which he reported melted in his mouth. I enjoyed watching him demolish the whole thing! I ordered the excellent heirloom tomato salad, and the pappardelle with shrimp, perfectly cooked al dente, with an outstanding flavorful sauce. My only quibble with the service is that it took more time than it should have to bring some extra bread and a second glass of wine for my dad (which did not arrive until after he had finished eating). We were there to celebrate my dad and stepmom's anniversary, and it was a perfect venue for a special occasion.

We had a delicious lunch of quiche florentine. The ambience is lovely with greenery, cozy variety of seating areas, top notch service. We were allowed a leisurely time to catch up with old friendships with no hints to leave. With team-like service, all servers who passed by offered friendly help if we wanted anything. We are definitely planning on returning soon and recommending Caprice to friends.

We had lunch for two on the patio. It was warm but there were fans that kept us cool enough to enjoy a fantastic meal (Greek Salad and Spicy Shrimp). The only annoyance was a large black beetle that wanted to join us for lunch. I have dined at Caprice several times and always enjoy the food, the service and usually the ambience. :-) I will continue to dine here and definitely recommend this establishment.

The only negative was the hostess stand / area, not the hostesses they were great. Just very little room , unsure where to stand while waiting. Other than that everything was great, didn’t realize it was a “fusion” menu, but nonetheless we both found the food to be excellent. Joe was our server great, very patient with a couple more focused on each other than ordering. Definitely recommend.

Service was great like usual just not sure why food took so long. I ordered an appetizer and it took an hour. Server acknowledged our wait didn’t charge us for the dessert and appetizer which both took a really long time. My pasta was supposed to come with shrimp but it came with salmon instead.

Price is not justified by lack of food quality. We don't usually complain, but this time we did. Food also took 1 hour to come out. Waitress never came to table and informed us of any delay, we had to go ask. Servers are not educated on the wine list although they have a long wine list, so they cannot answer any questions or make recommendations. It's an less than average experience for above average prices. Definitely not going here again.

I made a reservation two days in advance for Caprice Cafe on Opentable for 4 at 6pm. Our party arrived on time. As we were waiting inside to be seated, we could see that the restaurant was not full, which was surprising to me for a Saturday night. However, they seated us outside. It was 97 degrees. I asked if there was a table inside, but the hostess said all of the tables were taken. When we were waiting to be seated, we could see (among other open tables) that there was an open table for four in view of the hostess stand. There was no reason to seat us outside. The only other people of color at the restaurant were also seated outside. We were sweating! Needless to say, we left the restaurant and went to Copehouse, where we had a great dining experience. The seemingly discriminatory actions of their staff are unacceptable.

I took a first date here last night. The servers were excellent! Very attentive without being too attentive. The food was great. My date is vegetarian and he said the lasagna was outstanding. My martini was perfect . It was a great date. Thank you!

I give this restaurant a 10 out of 5. Not enough superlatives in my vocabulary to describe it. I had Artichoke Crostini, which was amazing,. Buratta cheese and currant- pine nut relish. A wonderful surprise was their homemade bread with house made basalmic vinegar in olive oil. Loved the menu, loved the food.
