We went for a business dinner and ate on the patio. The table was wobbly and the chairs were wet from the rain. My suit got drenched when I sat down. We had to call the waiter several times to get service. Service was slow. Food was okay but too pricey
Great place with excellent food!!!!
Highly recommend for large group
They have a privet area downstairs for 120 people I’m Thinking to do a dinner party down there
We have been going to Capri for several years but it had been several months since we dined there. It was humming the night we went. We ordered the eggplant but I was disappointed as I felt it was not as good as in the past and it was a bit bitter. Service was perfectly fine. I will not strike it from my list but I think I would put it in the category of "ok and reasonably priced but there are other places where the Italian food is better".
Food and service were excellent. We enjoyed our visit during Restaurant Week. We'll be back!
The food was excellent, service was good an overall positive experience. Prices are a bit high but portions were a good size.
Worst meal I have had in years. Filet mignon (nightly special) was cooked beyond well done, when I asked for it to be medium rare. Pasta was undercooked and vegetables had metallic flavor to them. My bottle of chianti was acceptable and priced reasonably.
I'm not overly critical of restaurants in general, but this wasn't merely kind of bad, it was horrible.
Food was okay, but not as good as other restaurants in Little Italy. The ambiance was disappointing. Very plain and casual. Also bathrooms were dirty.
Food not the greatest... overpriced for the quality and presentation. Mostly a tourist place....
I have been a fan of this restaurant for sometime, this time, however, things were "different."
I was surprised to get a side of scalloped potatoes with my Chicken Scallopini vs a small portion of pasta. The food was good, but I left feeling that I missed a true Italian dining experience.
It was a fantastic experience!
We had a great lunch sitting outside enjoying all of the sights, sounds, and scents of the Feast of San Gennaro. Authentic Italian food; generous portions, and a lovely atmosphere. We'd go back in a heartbeat!
We love coming to Little Italy when in New York and Capri is quintessential Little Italy. Perfect weather to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. I had diet problems that needed special attention and they were perfectly gracious about it all.
This was a pre-theater dinner. Interestingly, we were seated at a temporary, folding chairs table, even though all regular tables were available. Dining in a long gown was fairly uncomfortable. Later, people in shorts were being seated at regular tables.
Server was terrible. He was very aggressive in try to sell us bottle water. When asked what the wine labels for the wine that is served by the glass he did know. We had to hunt him down when we needed more water
Our waiter Marcus (?) or Marcel was outstanding! Even with a crazy Saturday night crowd, our Large group was readily handled with ease. Food was good. Drinks great. Bread was a favorite. We were greeted st the door and treated like royalty. My kind of place.
Great place - highly recommend! Authentic, great service, and tasty.
One of the best Parmigiana di Pollo in NYC. The service by Joseph was impeccable. Capped the meal with the house Limoncello-perfect ending. A very sublime surprise in Little Italy..
We were here for a large group party that took over the entire restaurant. They did an excellent job handling the crowd. Or food was delicious and served hot. The homemade pastas are excellent. The servers and staff are genuinely friendly and were happy to have the crowd.
Every time the door opened, it was freezing inside the restaurant and it also slammed every time. Place was almost empty. Wine tasted like it had been around too long. Food was good, but there was no ambiance.
Fantastic as always. Food hot and fresh. Staff attentive. Nice quiet snowy/ rainy night.
Even though my reservation was confirmed w/Open Table, when I got to the restaurant, the door was locked! I called the restaurant and they said they were closed for the evening. I did mention I had a reservation. Very frustrating. However, we walked across the street to Angelos and had a fabulous meal! I’d say it worked out for my party in the end.
Had a great evening. Staff was very attentive and food was amazing.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. I booked a party of 5 for a Girls Night Christmas reservation based on a blog recommendation and was thoroughly impressed! I will definitely be back!
I think my expectations were too high. Given what Little Italy has become, I should have known what I was getting--but the photographs on the website were VERY deceptive. I thought that perhaps it was the last bastion of old Little Italy. Well, it wasn't.
We went on a Saturday night, fortunately with a reservation, because the place was packed with long waits for tables. They were so overwhelmed by the crowds that they actually served our water in plastic cups. My husband tried to order a cocktail, and the waiter told him it would be at least 30 minutes because the bar was too swamped.
I still can't figure out why they weren't better prepared for those kinds of crowds.
The food was so-so. My husband's seafood mix was good, but my pizza came out cold. It was bad enough that I sent it back for a new one.
It's a good place for tourists, I suppose, who want to think they're getting the Little Italy experience. No local ever needs to bother.
Service was terrible. Took 15 minutes for server to bring drinks (and he forgot a coffee that we ordered, never brought it). Food was mediocre at best, we got spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parm (2 dishes that we thought would be go to options in Little Italy). On top of all of this, they charged 17% gratuity on a party of 2. I'm a 20% tipper for a good waiter, but this guy would have gotten 15% due to his poor service... instead he put it on the bill because he knew he'd done a bad job. There are so many great options for food in New York, go elsewhere.
It was pretty expensive for what was a distinctly average Italian meal. Our waiter was smiley and courteous when you could get his attention but he always seemed to be elsewhere and it wasn't really very busy - he got visibly irritated when, after waiting for some time, I had to wave at him to attract his attention. The decor and ambience is nice but they somehow managed to make what could have been a nice fresh simple pasta pretty tasteless.
Although we had a little trouble finding the place, accidently sitting in capri for 20 min b4 we realized the producer table was down stairs. We had a fantastic time at producer table. The downstairs had an early 90's Italian theme, and we really enjoyed the live music. Food was great (4/5) if possible joselito, he's hilarious . If I had to nit pick, I would say it could be a little top loud sometimes, but the authentic Italian atmosphere definitely makes up for it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Food was delicious, the service was impeccable me and my friend enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this venue would recommend to anyone I know to try this place definì worth stopping by.
Don’t waste your time or money. Didn’t need the reservation I made as I was aggressively coached to come in and sit, service sucked, food wasn’t much better. Bummer.
The food is just okay but being outside in the middle of Little Italy is lots of fun.
Our server were very gruff, which diminished our enjoyment of the experience. Service was very slow as well. I would not recommend the experience to a friend. I am not sure why the restaurant is rated as highly as it is.
Always love Capri ! Great food and waiters are awesome !
It is a marvelous/beautiful restaurant. We sat inside because we wanted to talk, which we were able to do. We did not even notice the music while we were eating, etc. (The music seemed to get too loud to talk by the time we left--after 9 or so. I don't know why. So I was glad we were leaving because would not have been able to converse with the volume at that level.) Great food, service, and ambience. We are New Yorkers, not tourists. Highly recommended!!!!!
Great food, great location. Went for Restaurant Week, but ended up ordering off the regular menu. Had a wonderful time.
Underwhelming to say the least. The food was mediocre and the service was unbelievably slow.
We we're two couples on a Sat. night. We brought our won wine and paid corkage. Fabulous food, service café style outdoors on a beautiful summer evening.
Could not have been better.
All was good, except I didnt care for the mussels in my Linguine Frutti Di Mare.
This was my first time here. It was a date that was planned for my birthday. The waiters were so friendly and attentive. I got to enjoy a date at a beautiful restaurant with excellent food. I would def come here again. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
The lasagna was the best I have ever had! Seafood risotto was so authentic! Great service and so relaxing!
We ate outdoors. Enjoyed the surroundings of Little Italy. Menu had options for children as well as adults.
