I think they changed chefs. This used to be one of the best Italian places in town. Now, it is inedible. Very sad to say this as I loved it before. Get the old chef back!
The food was delicious, but could have included a salad with the entree. The set was great! I would certainly go back.
The food and service were excellent. The restaurant name may be new but everything is still the same. Easily one of favorite spots in a town with many excellent options.
We had the caprese, pear salad, chicken and roasted red tomato special, and chicken Capri. Everything was exceptional especially the main dishes. Tiramisu May be the best I’ve ever had.
We’ll be back again soon.
A very nice experience and a perfect place to have dinner before going to the Paper Mill Playhouse performance.
First time since took over from DaNico. Pleasantly surprised, trying to spruce up decor. Service was pleasant and efficient. Menu and prices are similar as was quality of food which we always enjoyed. Worth a try if you are in Millburn.
my husband and I had a very nice meal here. we went on a Sunday evening. not many people were there but it was also a holiday weekend. food was great, the menu has slightly changed but some of the original Capri items are still on the menu. service was perfect.
We always loved coming here when the last owner was there so we hesitated to return under new management.. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and would definitely come again.. good local BYOB
Our family went on Mothers Day an the regular menu was available along with some good specials. Everything that we had was very tasty from the appetizers to the main dishes to the desserts. It was a but noisy and they could use better acoustics. All in all a pleasant experience on a busy holiday.
Food was good. Service was a little slow and we had to ask for basic things. Refill of water, utensils, etc.
Excellent Food and Service . Great Experience!
Always wonderful to find a new place you KNOW you will go back to AND recommend to all.
hope they work out. adds a variety to the area. another version of Italian.
The food and service was very good. They are very accommodating to requests for lighter oil or dressing on the food. I love whole branzino and they happily provide it as it is not on the menu. Great neighborhood restaurant!
The food was about the same as any small Italian restaurant in any other town but slightly smaller portions and a bit more expensive. Tables are crowded together and noise level is high. I’m guessing if it weren’t so close to Papermill Playhouse, it wouldn’t be too popular.
I had one of the specials - papperdelli with rabbit and it was delicious. The service was great. caring but not overbearing.
I would definitely go again.
Completely average, nothing special at all and menu is even more limited under new ownership
My wife and I have been going to Capri (and its predecessors at the same location) since we met (it was our second date). It's always a great place to share a meal and conversation. Appreciate that it continues to offer such good value and pleasant accommodation.
The food I thought was good but a bit over priced. They made a mistake on the final check which they promptly fixed. They only reason we went was because of a coupon that we got in the mail...otherwise we might not have gone there unless someone else recommended it. It was close to the Paper Mill Playhouse which is why we went there on Valentine's Day.
I had chicken piccata with lemon, and a side of potatoes and broccoli. Al had chicken parmesan with spaghetti. Both meals had good quality chicken and were cooked properly. My chicken was sliced too thinly which was my only criticism. As an appetizer we shared a ceasar salad which was average as far as Ceasar salads go. The dessert was really good. We had tiramisu. Their version had the most delicious made to order cream. Their italian bread was also excellent. We would go back.
I wish I had more positive things to say about Capri, but honestly at best, it was mediocre. The service was attentive but the food was not presented well, lacked taste and was overpriced for what was served. We had been there a few times when it was DaNico’s and thought we would give this a try. Don’t think we will be back. Sorry.
This place never disappoints. Great food every time.
I was surprised to see that the former restaurant had been renamed and new owners but happy the kept the basic menu. The dish I had was actually better then before. The staff was excellent even if a little nervous. The owner was involved. I'm going back.
