Yum! Went to celebrate a birthday
Capri is a wonderful date night restaurant. We enjoyed every minute of our meal and David was an exceptional server who took great care of us!
I consider Capri one of my favorite places to dine. I have never had anything but outstanding service and great food at every visit.
I prefer the bar seating but the dining room is nice as well.
Probably one of our favorite Indy restaurants that only the locals and foodies know about. Since it's off the beaten path and not visible from Keystone Ave, many drive right past it on the way to Broad Ripple or Keystone Crossing. My recommendation is "don't do that!" The wood fire in the fireplace, low music, dimly lit bar area is our "go to" on date night. You never know who you'll be rubbing elbows with, most likely some of the Indy "blue bloods" from the Meridian Kessler area.
Capri is our favorite Indianapolis Italian restaurant and dinner today did not disappoint. Had an early reservation at 6P and the hostess led us to a seat in the bar area where there were already a few customers. The bar area has several TV’s and is generally noisier than the larger main restaurant. We requested seating in the main dining room and were quickly accommodated. Even though we were the only table in that section, the server made us feel welcome and was friendly the whole evening. Home made pasta is their specialty but tonight I tried the spare rib special which was very tender with a tasty sauce. Wife had the fettuccine with shrimp in white sauce and loved it. Dessert was a good cheesecake and an excellent authentic Italian cappuccino. The whole time we had the main dining room to ourselves, like a private room. Tuesday was a great day to dine at Capri!
Elina was our server. She was very attentive and helpful. Aaron spoke with us a couple times and was excellent. We were all interested in the Capri history. The food was excellent. We came for an Italian dinner and it was everything we expected, from ambiance to service to wonderful food, we could not have asked for more.
We ordered the Spaghetti and Bolognese and our friends ordered the Lasagna. If we hadn’t split the spaghetti, we would have to taken some home. The lasagna was too much for our friends so they each took home half of their order. The bread was excellent as well. Gotta stop eating so much of that!
All in all an excellent dining experience. We will definitely be back for more.
The veal piccata was beyond outstanding tonight.
Had not been to the Capri in many years but they did not disappoint. I would recommend if you go during the cooler months to request a table by the fireplace. It really adds to ambiance and it is just cozy. Great food, our server was awesome. Just all around great evening. We will be back a little more often.
My wife is so in love with this place , celebrated our 20 year anniversary here and it was most appropriate for the occasion
Our service and food were good. We had a reservation for 7:30 in the bar. Finally by 8 we asked to sit in the dining room. They should have offered us a appetizer or glass of wine for our wait with a reservation.
Some of the very best Italian food in Indianapolis. The service is always exceptional and the atmosphere is similar to the Italian Village in Chicago, rather than what one would expect in Indy.
Don't let the location (a strip mall is across the street) put you off. Once you drive through the gates of Capri, the whole experience is wonderful.
Love the food and service also love the ambiance of being seated in the bar area intimate easy going feel.
My friends and I enjoyed another lovely lunch by the cozy fireplace. Our food was delicious, our server was efficient, and we spent a very pleasant time. Capri never disappoints!
I am a frequent guest at Capri. After the change in ownership I have as skeptical whether they would preserve that very things that made it the best Italian in the city. It has done a good job overall however the I feel as though they are not as good as the use to be.
Fabulous as usual! Best Italian in Indianapolis.
Great service, menu, atmosphere. We had our wedding reception there 25 years ago.
Our favorite spot!
Really good meal
Food was served cold and was mediocre. Waitress spent 45 minutes of the 2.5 hours we were there chatting up another table. This was especially irritating as we waited for the bill....... Had called ahead to ensure I would be presented with the bill. Had been assured by hostess that I would receive it. Even provided a description of myself. Waitress ignored that request and when I asked about it said, “yes I read that.” After she had just asked how we wanted the check. As her notes indicated I was picking up the bill.... of course then my friends argued about allowing me to do that. Have previously been very happy here which is why I took my guests.
We love the ambience at the Capri. Our waiter was superb. He was also very knowledgable--giving us wine recommendations and explaining the ingredients (off the top of his head) in the after-dinner coffee drinks. All of his suggestions were spot on. Everyone made us feel welcome, and the manager made sure to talk with us several times during the evening. The food was presented well and tasted great, as usual! We'll be back, for sure!
Tomatoes should have been ripe! Overall a great meal!
We were lucky to get seated in the back room, right in front of the fire place. It was a beautiful room! The service was wonderful and attentive, without being overbearing. Good food - my chicken piccata was as good as any I have had!
We have been coming here for several years now. I cannot say enoubj
Food was fabulous and with generous portions. Our server was top shelf, being courteous, insightful and prompt. The Capri had fallen off our radar so hadn’t dinned there in years; it won’t be so long before the next time.
Seemed like they hired a lot of new staff to handle an influx of customers that never showed. They seemed confused on tables, menu items and each other. I was taken back when the item I scoped out online was cut out of their menu that night. Food was just ok, yet very expensive. Too many other choices out there.
Excellent as always. Attentive service and wonderful food!
The atmosphere is perfect. Love the paneled bar. Music by Sinatra and Bocelli. A perfectly lovely setting. Menu is the same as previous owner but seems to lack some of the Italian panache.
Great as usual. The noise level was appropriate just didn’t how to use the 4 levels of the bar so i just picked one in the middle as I didn’t know if to the far right meant appropriate or too loud
We Lived the service , food & ambience with the wood burning fire!
Our group of six enjoyed a variety of entrees. Everyone was extremely pleased with their meal.
The service was excellent. We will definitely be back!
Excellent from start to finish! Always enjoy Capri
The ambience was extraordinary at this restaurant. I was seated near the wood burning fireplace and made it very cozy and comfortable. The chefs selections werevery tasty. I strongly recommend Capri!
As always, excellent food. Ambiance reminds me of an Italian restaurant in NYC. Servers need a little training on how to deliver food. Never across the table. But again, service was good, really enjoyed the entire experience.
Both the linguine and spaghetti Bolognese were excellent. Good wine list. Server was attentive and knowledgeable. Great experience.
Our one of our party received her cocktail as the other 2 were done. Later, we canceled our bottle of wine as our dinner arrived and our wine did not. We were 1/2 done with our meal when the glasses for our wine were placed on the table. Needless to say we just drank water. Disappointing
We visit this restaurant frequently and went for Devour Indy. It was as busy as we had ever seen but service and food were excellent. We had requested a quieter table and we got one. Would solidly recommend.
Excellent in every way, as always.
Great Italian restaurant. Had not been there in several years. Must go back soon.
The food was excellent, as always, and the ambiance in the restaurant enhanced it! One of my favorite places!
I was looking forward to good Italian food. We went during Devour and ordered the Devour. All of us upgraded to the wedge salad, are great portion size. We all three ordered the same entree, it was a shrimp dish with fettuccine in a white wine sauce. They came out and it looked like a small bowl of fettuccine noodles without sauce, and 6 heated up shrimp in the microwave placed on top. It was neither appealing to the eye or the mouth. With the three selections, it wasn't a good selection and it is obvious that the reduce the portion sizes for the Devour menu. We each ordered a different dessert, the person that upgraded for the cheese cake received a slice as would have been a menu size. The tiramisus and canola was extremely small. The tiramisus was like a 2x2x2 cube, the only thing that made the canolli look large was all the added whip cream.
The service and ambiance was great, but reducing portion sizes for a Devour menu is just not right!
We are frequent visitors to Capri throughout the year but took this time to take advantage of Devour Indy. The restaurant is usually very spacious and reasonably quiet, but they added quite a few more tables to accommodate the extra crowds. I was not a fan of all of that but the meal was delicious!
Wonderful food and friendly service!
