Food was phenomenal, but service was horrible, which was odd because our server was also a manager. First, my date got rudely questioned about her ID because it was an older (but still valid) form of identification. (she's 24) Next, our son ordered one of their kids options, Penne with Alfredo sauce and he wanted meatballs with it. They brought his food out with no meatballs on it, then when we asked for meatballs with it because that's what he ordered, a different server brought 3 meatballs out in marinara sauce. Again we had turn that back because it wasn't what he ordered. Then our first server brought out another plate with 1 meatball in alfredo sauce, which is what we ordered, but then why did the first plate of meatballs come out with 3, and now this one comes out correct but with less meatballs? It seemed the communication between servers and apparently manager, was overall poor. Time wise and foodwise everything was on time and great, but it was apparent most issues were happening in Front of House, not with the kitchen.
The family gathered and had a great time. The food was surprisingly good and the service professional and friendly. It's already a new favorite for Longmont!
The food was very bland.
We caught a very busy night, but were not impressed. The food was good but not great. The setting and atmosphere were crowded and noisy and really not pleasant for conversation or savoring flavors. Overall, Caprese seems like a good culinary idea in search of a suitable venue, and this fast-casual setting is not that venue. (Hint to management -- lose the fluorescent backdrop lighting -- nasty glare sitting under it against the wall.)
Great food. Very nice waiter - very attentive. Good value. A little disappointing since I specified when making a reservation that we are celebrating a birthday and It wasn’t acknowledged. It was a little embarrassing to say something...
My friend and I have been here several times. The food is very tasty and well prepared. The menu has a LARGE variety of selections. Service has always been very good. Reservations would be a really good idea. We have entered at 4:30 or 5pm with only a few tables occupied but by 5:30 or 6pm, it is packed full which speaks to its popularity.
Authentic Italian food...wide menu..cooked to order...could not ask for more!!
Bread - yum. Basil infused EVOO - yum. Good service. The calamari for lunch were quite good - not the best I've ever had (the breading was not as fluffy or crispy as other panko fried calamari, but on a scale from 1 to 10 they are a solid 8. Now to the fantastic part - ravioli with funghi in a truffle cream sauce - WOWZA!!! The sauce was fragrant but not overbearing and the pasta felt like velvet. The mushrooms were divine. I would get this every time except I want to try more menu items. The capricciosa pizza my friend had was robust and fresh - not a lot of cheese or sauce but the dough was fabulous and the toppings were three dimensional - truly freshly made. I'll be back, and I've already told about 15 people about this unassuming little gem.
This was our first time at the restaurant and we tried it out because it was on the Longmont Restaurant Week list. We loved the food. It was delicious and bursting with flavor. The specialty cucumber martini, mule, and strawberry margarita were delicious, too. They had a lovely outdoor patio that we would like to try during warm weather. It was a bit loud in the restaurant which we did not mind as the restaurant was decorated nicely and had a lively atmosphere.
We will be back!
Excellent Italian cuisine...probably the best in town! Located across Hover from the new mall.
Excellent Italian. Been here a few times and have loved everything I've tried.
Not a fast in and out. Good for a relaxed evening.
A little too loud for my taste - hard to hear you tablemates.
Excited to try the outdoor dining once the weather improves.
We stopped in for Longmont Restaurant Week and were absolutely blown away by the food. First, we discovered that they have a great happy hour menu. We ordered drinks and were pleasantly surprised by the house red wine, which is typically quite mediocre but was much better here than most places. The bruschetta was delicious. We each ate off the Restaurant Week specials menu and loved it. The rigatoni with sausage was flavorful and the noodles al dente. My fellow diners were also suitably impressed with their meals. I also have to mention the tiramisu which I am not typically a fan of but the flavor of this one was wonderful. It was not overpowering but everything came together beautifully. I would absolutely recommend this place for date night dinners, evenings out on the patio, happy hour with friends, pretty much whatever the occasion, I would dine here again. I'm already looking forward to my next experience!
Caprese Trattoria never disappoints. Great food and service. Excellent happy hour menu!
The food here was authentic Italian, and the portions were substantial. The service was friendly, polite, and most importantly, unassuming. (There were no “How are you folks doing?”, comments inserted into our dinner conversation.)
Their desserts are spectacular! The taste and texture of the crème brûlée was perfection itself — if It hadn’t been for the garnish of Reddiwhip instead of homemade, piped whipped cream, I’d have given it a solid “10”. The Tiramisu was even more pleasing; it had mounds of real whipped cream.
The food was wonderful and service was attentive until the end, when we waited an unreasonable length of time for the bill to arrive. When it did, we found two errors that then took more time to find our server to request a correction. One was her error and one was an price error in your computer. This was resolved quickly, fortunately, since we really didn't want to wait much longer for the correction. This was a very noisy eating experience and very difficult to carry on a conversation with the couple who joined us. I would go back for the food, which was excellent, but maybe for lunch or appetizers at the bar where it might not be so loud.
Wait staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. Food was fantastic!
everything was good- my clients were happy
The waitress forgot to bring out the bread but
all of the food was hot and tasty.
enjoyed celebrating there with family. meal tasty. surprised that salad wasn't included. added salads were good but expensive.
Another great meal and service; lot of Italian competition in town, but this restaurant is one of our favorites
Having lived in Chicago most of my life, and having had an Italian mother who was a very good cook, I have been looking for good Italian restaurants on Colorado's Front Range for the eight years I have lived here. Few have met that standard, but Caprese Trattoria does; the food reminds me of the better Italian restaurants I have eaten at over many years. I have been there twice over the span of two months, and I and others have tried a variety of their small plates and dinner offerings. For example, gnocchi is light and airy; calamari is very lightly breaded and tender; Risotto Piscatora is a wonderful blend of seafood and risotto. All the dishes we have had have been consistently well flavored, cooked correctly. I recommend this restaurant highly. My complements to the chef.
My go-to Italian joint in my locale. Always consistent, except perhaps the different wait staff - some younger and perhaps not as experienced as a couple we've had the pleasure of their service. Otherwise.. looove the food.
This was our third visit. Again, excellent food and good service. It was moderately busy the night we were there, and the service was very prompt. Very tasty lamb chops as well as spaghetti carbonara. Some interesting daily wine specials as well. Will continue to look forward to exploring more of their menu.
Calamari and shrimp appetizers were outstanding.
The main dishes, eggplant parmesan, chicken marsala and chicken cooked with a brick over it were good but not outstanding. The roasted potatoes were cut very small and tasted more like home fries than quartered roasted potatoes with lemon and herbs which I had expected. My wife and daughter had an ample portion of the potatoes but I only got a few. The spinach was well prepared and tasty but not one of our favorites. I think spinach is a hard vegetable to prepare in a way that most people prefer. I think it would be good to include some other options for vegetables with the chicken entres. Overall we had an enjoyable experience.
On a previous trip to Caprese I had the linguine with claims and it was outstanding. One of the best I have ever had.
We will come back to try other menu options.
Food and drink were good but service was spotty. One person in the group asked to sub out one starch for another, and the bill came with an upcharge for that which was not mentioned during ordering. The problem was that the upcharge was not mentioned at all, not so much that there was an upcharge. Another simple request made at ordering did not make it through the system, and the dish had to be sent back to be fixed. Server was slow to bring the bill and with a follow-up or two. Not sure if the table was out of the server's normal area or if just distracted. Dining area felt crowded with tables fairly close, which added to the noise factor. Probably will go back, but maybe for lunch instead of dinner.
Return visit for us; our first was shortly after they opened. Based on the number of customers and added tables, the word has gotten out and is now very popular. Food and service continues to be good, but felt rushed. Appetizers looked pre-made, hardly any break between appetizers and main courses.
Food excellent, but too noisy for a intimate type dinner. Waite staff excellent, however, when I made our reservation on-line I had requested a birthday cake, which was one of the options, and no one there knew anything about it. I will say the food made up for everything else.
We will definitely return! I only marked them low on ambiance because the food, drink and menu are so authentically Italian that it's a shame the restaurant is located in a strip mall setting with what I would consider more contemporary American furnishings and decor. It's a little pricey, but worth it if you are really looking for an Italian food experience.
Service was excellent, food was good. Restaurant atmosphere was like dining at a sports bar without the TVs. Noise level was very high even though the restaurant was only 2/3 full. Seating at the restaurant resembled that of a fast food eating area rather than a nice Italian restaurant. Would recommend for lunch but not for evening dining.
Good food and service. Too loud and bright.
Would not be the best spot for a quiet romantic dinner.
Our meal was overall good. The server was attentive. I was surprised by the aranchini bc the name is little orange and it was the size of a softball. But it was good, as was the calamari and caprese. My sole special was good although the menu said it was coming with roasted potatoes and it was served with mashed (no big deal). The server asked for the ladies' orders first but the food was first served to the gentleman. They brought out both steaks for the guys and mixed the temperature up and the one that was suppose to be MR was rare. We let the server know and the manager took a little off the price. Very nice. The creme brulee was too sweet but the brulee was perfect. The chocolate mousse and tiramisu were delicious. Two things. 1) The server propped the bottle on his knee to open it. Oy. 2) Dirty plates, used silverware, and bread were left on our table through dessert. This happened to us the last time we were there too. All dirty items and things we won't be using anymore should be removed before dessert menus are brought. And really the table should be crumbed.
It's hard to find a good Italian restaurant in Longmont so I was pleasantly surprised with how authentic the food tasted. The meat sauce was not overly sweet or acidic and had a good flavor. The Ciopino had fresh seafood with a delicious sauce. We never had to wait for drink refills and Marcus our server was friendly and polite. We are definitely going back!
Love this place. Grilled shrimp appetizer one of the best I've ever had. Try Marco's Manhattan to drink. Eaten here 4 times, never a complaint.
Succulent food, good service. One table we like(53), hard to converse otherwise.
Love the food! Can't go wrong with any selection.
It's so popular they have added more tables and it's
become a bit noisy, but the food is excellent so we will
be back again and again!
Loved everything the restaurant had to offer except the noise level. It was so loud that it detracted from the overall experience.
Awesome! Recommend the Bolognese!
Amazing as always, never disappoints us
Great Place, amazing ambiance
The service was astonishing. The waiter didn't know the menu and seemed annoyed to be there and to have to answer our questions regarding the menu. He brought our entrees right after he had sat our appetizer on the table...and was surprised when we had him send entrees back. Then, we weren't convinced these $20+ entrees weren't going to be sitting on the pass under a light in the meantime. We considered talking to the manager
.. but believe it was him sitting at the bar at 8:30 having a glass of wine as the waitstaff was stacking chairs around us. Wow...REALLY?!?!? At 8:30? I was referred to this place for their gluten free options. The food was good. Unfortunately, the lack of service will prevent us from ever returning or suggesting to others. To top it off... next day we found out he ran our card twice for the coat of the meal. My husband we here for a special night out. It was not what we had hoped to experience.
We went for Valentine’s Day, and what a mistake!!! The restaurant was overcrowded and understaffed. Even though we had a reservation we waited for 15 minutes for a table. We had to squeak into our seats because the tables were so crowded together. And then we waited another 10 minutes for bread and water. The highlight of the meal was our cocktails. But the food was barely mediocre. The owner/Manager was smarmy. Don’t waste your time, money, or your ability to enjoy a truly good meal elsewhere.
Great service, food, wine selection....a A + overall. Best restaurant in Longmont hands down.
