Capocaccia Trattoria is an elegant European-inspired bistro with communal seating in the heart of Toronto, focusing on light, yet comforting, Italian cuisine. The modern and inventive fare starts with the appetizers, where items like the crisp eggplant crostone and the tagliere mezzo mezzo with a selection of cured meats and Italian cheeses hit all the right notes. Capocaccia Trattoria makes crisp and hearty pizzas that guests adore, such as the prosciutto and goat cheese Melina, the salami and black olive Cardinale and the veggie and mozzarella loaded Navona. The spinach and ricotta stuffed ravioli in pesto and the butternut squash gnocchi with sausage and rapini are stunning pasta dishes you won’t soon forget. Enjoy the beautiful food and atmosphere with one of Capocaccia Trattoria’s signature cocktails, such as the amaretto acdio with Cointreau, lemon juice and bitters or the strawberry cosmo with crème fraise and lime juice.
Love the restaurqnt and the service is good however the dish we ordered-papardelle with mushrooms came in cool. Had to return it. The dish lacks flavour or actually a flavor that it not great ! Suggest you modify it!!
happy to be seated on patio tho' one cannot reserve there (did request on Open Table) and luckily was available.Comfortable, great enthusiastic and pleasant waiter. Prices were not over the top. Presentation, quality and quantity of all four meals were excellent. All in all, a very positive experience. Was our first time - definitely plan on returning!
The food at this restaurant is always good. The staff are friendly and the price points excellent. We have also had home delivery a number of times . The food is always delivered fast and warm. Enjoy!
We stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant by searching on OpenTable when we were in the area for an appointment and we were so pleasantly surprised! The caprese was excellent and reminded us of Italy which also goes for the agnolotti and margherita pizza! I am looking forward to going back there again to taste some new items on their menu. Great service and a very nice manager as well :) Also, the tiramisu really did lift my soul!
What an incredibly poor excuse for service at this restaurant. We took my daughter to celebrate her birthday and after waiting an hour for pizza, we were told things were delayed because they were filling delivery orders. Only one oven and so orders just kept backing up. What a joke.
We ended up leaving without eating dinner there. This is one restaurant we will never return to. If I could give the service a negative star I would. Not recommended at all. This restaurant needs to show some respect to customers that choose to visit. Unfortunately this evening that was sorely lacking.
Nice fresh Italian food, that was delicious. the atmosphere is amazing.
They have a private party section which is adorable.
Only thing was I wanted Balsamic Viegar and Oil for the bread, but they couldn't provide balsamic, which was weird, otherwise. great food. great location. great atmosphere.
I have been twice and would go again.
Having walked by Capocaccia many times, we decided to try it out for the first time last Friday night. We had a reservation that was made through open table. When we arrived I indicated that and we were seated right away. However, one thing just went down after another. It was 20 minutes before our drink order was taken. Other people arrived after us and they were served way before us. After we ordered our drink, another waiter came over to ask us for our drink orders again - we didn't have the same waiter all night and it was really chaotic and disorganized the way we were served. After our drink arrived it was another 45 minutes before we were able to order - I had to ask the waiter twice if we could order and at this point it's not like the resturant was really busy. Again, people who had come in after us were already paying the bill for their meals and we had yet to order. The food came fast, but I ordered another drink which didn't come until the bill came. Then the bill came and all the credit & debit machines were down - it took an hour to get paid and we missed the rest of our plans for the evening. On Monday Open Table sends me a note indicating that I missed my reservation - even though I told them when I arrived that I had one through open table. The was no attention to detail and no customer service except a frantic manager running around really not offering any help. The food and drinks were fine - but I could easily get what I ordered at any Italian resturant and at least feel like a valued customer. We won't be going back.
One of the best italian restaurant in Toronto, very nice location excellent food.
The pasta dish I ordered cost 18.00, for lunch, and was a small portion with no embellishments. We waited 20 minutes for dessert, then to be told that the brulee torch wasn't working and to choose something else. Service was not attentive.. Pasta was fresh and good flavours. We would probably not go back mainly because of the over-priced menu, but the restaurant is beautifully designed. There are lots of other good trats and bistros to try in the same area.
The food was great and the price tag was reasonable. Excellent service and relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Overall a nice place to have dinner. Nice ambience.
Waited 20 mins for our drink order and even longer for our main. We actually had to ask for olive oil and bread (is this not a staple at any Italian restaurant?). When we asked the waiter where the olive oil was from he responded "olives". Not friendly service, did not cater to our table unless eye contact was made. Food was decent, nice portions and the atmosphere was pleasant.
I've eaten here a number of times and always find it pleasant, above-average service and excellent
Food is consistently good, with a varied menu. Risotto is a favourite. Service is friendly and the ambience is energetic.
Everything my wife and I ordered was delicious! I've dined here many times over the years and it's always consistent. Servers are on the ball and personable. Ambience is perfect for a first date or special occasion. The pizza and pastas are all excellent and I think I've had most of them.
we found the food excellent, good location , but tables too close together and way TOO noisey
Great little Italian gem. Fast, friendly service with a great atmosphere.
Service was disapponting - we had to flag down a server to find out what happened to our lunch, after waiting more than 30 minutes for the ordered salads. No apology was given for the delay, even though tables seated after us had clearly received their meals much sooner!
A fantastic option in Midtown Toronto for a good lunch with authentic Italian food. The pizza's are great as are the pasta options.
The staff at the restaurant are amazing, they make you feel comfortable and you can tell they enjoy working there. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne as they knew it was our anniversary, the service and the food was outstanding.
This is our new neighbourhood favourite restaurant. The decor is a little eccentric, but the food and the staff's Italian accents are authentic and fantastic! I cannot wait to sample the whole menu! On both occasions we brought our 6-month old who loved watching the action outside the big windows; the staff sat us at a table with room for our stroller and were very accommodating. We had a wonderful anniversary and on a second occasion birthday dinner.
They were really busy, so maybe that is why the service was mediocre at best. Food too, extremely salty and they left olives with the pits inside on the pizza....Not impressed at all. Never going back!
I Enjoyed the meat and cheese platter with a pizza and cream brûlée to follow, my wife had the seafood linguine that she said was the best she ever had. We will be back.
I have always enjoyed going here for pizza. The other night, though, I had pasta. It was awful. Pappardelle with Lamb Ragu. This is a dish i love if it is done well. However in this case, it tasted as if they'd opened a can of hunt's tomato sauce and threw in a few bits of lamb taken from a can of scotch broth soup. I even had to add salt at the table, which is something I never do.
The food and service was great. We loved the mushroom salad and pasta.
I made a lunch reservation. These usually fail me somehow due to the inevitable lunch hour rush but this place met all my expectations. Service was efficient, friendly and flexible. Food was delicious and affordable. I'd go back any day (and I will!).
Good mid-town location. Attentive friendly service.
My business lunch for two lasted four hours. Waitstaff checked on us frequently but we never felt rushed or interrupted. Everything about the place contributed to a very successful meeting. I would dine there again with friends and family as I have done before, but I'd also return for professional meals/meetings.
A great discovery. Lovely room, friendly staff, delicious food. Nice vib.
Pizza definitely better than the pastas, salads absolutely delicious! Was very busy.
The food is always fresh, tasty, authentic, and it was great like always. Greatest service ever! Great atmosphere!
Good food as usual, and good service. The noise level was quite a bit high this lunchtime. Many restaurant seem to sacrifice sound-deadening insulation for a trendy look.
Despite the restaurant being busy at lunch hour on a week day, service was polite and efficient. Food was very tasty and just the right size portion for a lunch.
2 out of 3 meals were good. I do not recommend the salad with fennel or the Branzino.
The family that runs this restaurant are great. Good, casual dining, nice atmosphere, good food, fantastic pizza and reasonably priced. I keep coming back for a reason - it's predictably good. My guest said to me, "I didn't even know this place was here, but I am glad I know now." The renovations make it even nicer, great outdoor dining and nice indoors too.
Nice ambiance. Average food and poor service. Has been better in the past. Hope it was just an off night.
Service was really good and friendly but I was not blown away with the food. They need more entrees for the non-pizza/pasta set.
Though I had been here for dinner before with young relatives and all loved it, my bro. and I found the non-pasta options very limited. We would highly recommend Lunch. The food is always very good and the service just right. The one thing we did both notice however is that it has become pricey. Again for dinner we can think of better options with equally lovely patios for dinner at lower prices. We would however continue to recommend for lunch.
As always staff make your visit here exceptional friendly and very accommodating. The food is good and always consistent just like home cooked Italian the way mamma would make. A must if you are in the area .
The two men in our group both ordered the veal......when it arrived at the table, we all looked at each other and giggled.....the portions were tiny. My husband had to make more food when he we got home and he isn't a big eater!!! I'd suggest ordering the pasta, which was delicious and the portion big.
