Capitol Garage Ratings and Reviews
They were busy but let us know that ordering smaller plates would be faster since we had an event at The Community Center we needed to go to. They kept our time schedule in mind and we got a great price on everything and the food was exceptional. I love coming to Capitol Garage and they have great beer on tap which is a great bonus too!!!
This used to be one of our favorite brunch spots in Sacramento and never minded waiting an hour to get in. We recently moved back to the area and were excited to go back. It was shocking to see so few people there. The hostess was unfriendly and seemed quite unhappy with her job. Our server was good. Nothing on the menu sounded appealing so we went somewhere else.
Restaurant 1/2 full, but the wait was 40 minutes for food. Luckily the waitress told us before we ordered. Hoping it was just some short staff in the kitchen. But way too noisy of a place to even have a conversation. And we were just there for brunch before show
We made our reservation same day on Open Table, about an hour in advance. When we arrived they stated a 20-minute wait and that they couldn’t always accommodate same day reservations. My aunt went to order her bottomless mimosa at the bar, while we waited, and they wouldn’t serve her until we were seated. Luckily they were able to seat us only 5 mins after our reservation time.
It took a little over 1 hour to get our food from the kitchen after placing our order. The server was really nice and did bring out a complimentary bread pudding. And she did get my 4 year old’s breakfast out first, thankfully. Food was good. The kitchen was really slow, I think they were short staffed.
We were seated immediately and ordered within 10 minutes of that. Yet, we had to wait just over an hour for our food! For a party of 3 whose order consisted of eggs, veggies, and fruit, that is unacceptable. The food actually was fantastic but we sadly didn’t get to enjoy it much because due to our long wait we had to scarf down a few bites and leave for the event we were attending. Super disappointing and completely defeated the whole purpose of making a reservation.
It was my nephews 6th birthday, I decided to take the family out for his birthday for brunch. My reservations was for 8 which I booked 2 days in advance. I arrived 15 minutes early waited an additional 40 minutes for us to be seated.
We ordered our food and took over 90 minutes for us to receive it. While everyone that arrived after us received there food.
Sad to say I've been to capital garage numerous times, and spent great amount of money.
Sad to say poor service that and disappointed. Come on garage get it together
We had a large party and they were wonderful accommodating our group. It took a while to get service, but once we had a waitress it was great. The staff was great, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Would definitely come here again. It was a little loud, which was not a problem for us, but not a place to go if you want a quiet atmosphere. ;-)
Service was fine for coffee but breakfast took forever. 3 table were sat after us and were fed before we got our food. Food was unique flavors but greasy. Chickpeas in one of our meals were half cooked. Anyway we eat out a lot and this was an experiment to try something new and fine for the experience but we won't be back.
I love the plethora of vegetarian options. It makes choosing a dish so difficult in the best way imaginable. I have yet to be disappointed by their food. I will not I wasn’t loving their Bloody Mary, which is one of my favorite parts of brunch. It was watery and lacked flavor. Despite that I still love Capitol Garage and would gladly return.
My husband and I had a date night... and we were recommended by a friend to go! It was soooooooo good! Food, service... even the price wasn't too bad. What was nice was that it was pretty close to the theater and they give discount if you show the tickets. We'll for sure be back!!
My daughter-in-law, 4 grandchildren, and I ate here before Music Circus' matinee. The kids loved their hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches, and especially the fries! I had the pork sliders - delicious! And so filling, that I only ate two of the three. We also ordered a veggie plate for the 6 of us, which was perfect - lots of stuff the kids liked. Our server was very accommodating to the kids, though they didn't have a printed kids menu available.
Oh boy. I don't normally write bad reviews but.... Went for weekend brunch at 11am on a Saturday. The place was only half full, but there was obviously some problem in the kitchen because food orders were taking forever. We were never told what the problem was. At one point our server came out with complimentary bread puddings while we waited, but didn't apologise or tell us anything about the delay. I was there with my diabetic friend, whose blood sugar monitor alarm started going off because we'd waited for food so long. Oh, and the server forgot to bring him is tea. (The complimentary bread puddings were inedible, and even if they hadn't been, they were covered in powdered sugar which my friend obviously can't eat - and which our server knew because he'd ordered the pancake with no powdered sugar and sugar-free syrup.) When the food finally arrived, his pancake was okay but my Cuban Eggs Benedict was disappointing: the eggs were over-cooked, and the corn cakes were the driest and most flavorless things I've ever tasted. I only ate about half and declined a box for the rest.
We never tried this place before so we went on a brunch date.. The food was ok. My issue was in order to get the bottomless brunch mimosa we would have to order over a certain $ amount. I just wanted pancakes because I wasn't too hungry. Well it turned out I didn't qualify for that order amount I think it's something like you have to order over $9, it turned me off so bad that I just asked for a single glass of mimosa. The pancakes was good though. I don't think were going to come back here. The waitress was ok, standard service.
I took my granddaughter here for location and menu selections for teens and was pleasantly surprised how tasty the food was!
If your going to Broadway Sacramento tell them your server for a 10% discount. We did not find out until reading the Phantom of the Opera Program. All in all it was a nice relaxing great dinner.
We had an hour and a half before our show at the theater, 2 blocks away. Service took a long time. They undercooked my wife's burger: she asked for medium, and the burger was rare. By the time they fixed the problem, we had to leave. They brought her a complimentary slice of pie, and didn't charge for the burger. So that was nice, but still, the slow service and cooking mistake combined made it so my wife didn't get dinner.
A few good things: the cocktails, my dish (a chile rellenos variant), friendly staff.
