Capital Club 16
Capital Club 16, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, offers a menu full of traditional American food in a casual atmosphere. The restaurant has a full bar which is known for its selection of beer on tap as well as its specialty cocktails. Capital Club 16 also serves brunch on the weekends in addition to its daily lunch and dinner menus.
Start out your meal at Capital Club 16 with one of the restaurant's appetizers like the pimento cheese and fig crostinis or the farmhouse cheese board. Choose from entrees like the skillet mac and cheese or the club burger. Then, try an order of one of the daily house made desserts!
The German food was not authentic and the the schnitzel was tough and weird. The brats and sausage were ok, but not very tasty. In all, a rather bad meal.
Love this place. Best brunch and decided to go for lunch. Ordered the burger and it was delicious but could use a little seasoning. Will definitely go back and try other things off the menu. Our waitress was friendly but the gal (she had a tattoo on her forehead for reference) refilling water was crabby and never smiled. I said hi twice and even smiled at her when I was coming out of restroom and she was standoffish and a bit rude. Other then that we love this place.
Service, food, and specials are always great. Perfect date night as usual.
We love trying restaurants that we never even knew were in our area. This was in a very cool older building in downtown Raleigh that had that awesome rustic charm. The staff were friendly, the Bloody Mary was just the right amount of spicy and the food was so good we ended up being part of the empty plate club! Very nice experience that made us want to go back again.
I was in a party of 2 for brunch. We had the “Eggs Norwegian” and the “Steak and Eggs - medium, over-medium” with mimosas. The food presentation was pretty and everything was extremely tasty. The mimosas were also tasty and had generous champagne portions. Our server was very friendly, polite, and willing to provide recommendations.
The only ding is the space is rather echoey. When we first arrived, it was just us and two other parties. However, by the end of our meal, the restaurant was nearly full and quite loud.
The staff was very helpful , three at our table had allergies and they were very accommodating
Always enjoy the Shaved Brussels salad and changing, seasonal menu. It’s fresh and I love that it’s locally sourced. The ambience is very Cool and we always enjoy meeting friends here for dinner before an event!
The decor was wonderful; however, the waiter took over 15 minutes to come back to our table to take our food order.
The value was good, but food was VERY salty. From the creamed spinach to the potatoes..too salty. Overall though I would recommend, possibly just an off day for them.
My only complaint is that the "crispy cheese grit cake" was neither crispy nor a cake. It was just regular grits with a slice of white cheese on top of it. I say actually make it into a patty of sorts, like a potato cake or crab cake. Otherwise, the food and service were great and overall a good value.
We came here for our anniversary and it was a mistake as this is tailored more towards every day dining. The food was okay at best, half traditional half Americanized. Service wasn’t bad but wasn’t the best
They asked us if we were celebrating and brought us a dessert then charged us $8 for it anyways, won’t be coming back
A favorite neighborhood restaurant!
Alex was fantastic. He recommended the Rahmschnitzel and it was delicious!
Everything they serve is terrific

Hands down, the best German influenced cuisine in Raleigh. The wait staff was well trained and timed different courses perfectly. Excellent experience from start to finish.
It is the best restaurant in Raleigh. The chef is amazing. The staff is always friendly and attentive. It is our favorite place to eat.
First visit. A lunch meeting. The Hungry Wolf salad was delicious. Our server was delightful. Great place for lunch in downtown Raleigh.
Food was excellent as always! The staff is such a delight! The owner is always personable! Our favorite place to brunch!
My husband and I were very excited to try this German/American restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was very poor. We ordered 4 items off the menu. The currywurst was pretty good (sweeter sauce than in Germany), the schnitzel wasn’t very good. They overdid the herbs and seasonings. Then the sausage plater had sauerkraut that again was not the way they make it in Germany. Finally, we ordered the pretzel which was tiny for the price and very stale. The service was good, very attentive. But overall, not impressed. We left disappointed.
I had a great experience! This restaurant popped up a few times on open table as a recommendation but to be completely honest the picture didn’t look inviting. After Swank clothing raving about it on his post while printing shirts I thought let’s give it a shot! I’m so glad we did. I do have 2 recommendations: take a new pic with the bustle of the people on a Sunday brunch- show your people ) Thanks!
The food was fantastic - the sparrow grilled cheese had perfectly balanced flavors and was really melty. The mac and cheese was decadent - and perfectly balanced by a lovely salad that was loaded with fresh fruits and greens.
Excellent food along with great, down to earth service! Highly recommend.

Every visit to Capital Club 16 is a delight! Their food is always delicious. When we have friends in from out of town CC16 is one of our "go to" spots.
Excellent food with plenty of interesting options. Service was great. Definitely would go again.
We love this restaurant. The food is fresh and good with a great variety of choices. We love it for a weekday dinner and for more festive occasions. Sort of passes the Goldilocks test--not too small, not too big, not too fussy but definitely homemade. " Just right"
Food and service were great.
Capital Club 16 is one of my go to places in downtown Raleigh for great beer and wine, traditional and non-traditional German food and a fun place to hang out. I have been going here for at least 8 years and continue to visit whenever I can. Not only do they serve great dinner nightly, but they also do seasonal dinner specials that I go out of my way to attend. This past visit we enjoyed a traditional dinner of White Asparagus (Spargel) a delicacy in Germany during May. Other special dinners have included wine tastings, Christmas Goose and of course a nod to Oktoberfest. If Luchow’s or Horn & Hardet say anything to you, Capital Club 16 is the Phoenix risen from their ashes.
I've had good experiences for brunch at Capitual Club 16, but dinner was a major disappointment. The fries were cold and greasy, the salad had no dressing, the brioche bun was cold. But what was truly disappointing was that our waiter (a redhead) spilled hot coffee on my father while walking past to another table, and he didn't apologize or ask if my father was OK. Instead, every time he walked past he would stare blankly at the coffee spill on the table but not mention it or clean it up. We finished our dinner in false cheerfulness and left as soon as we could. It was bizarre.
Very nice evening!
The menu includes some German standards such as sausages and pork. Excellent service and tasty food. Well worth a visit.
Food was tasty but not mind blowing
Amazing food. Would go back. Great mimosas too! Great service.
This is our go-to place for brunch. Survers are always friendly, ambiance is awesome and food is always spot on. The only thing we dislike about this place is the sound system. The music is always muffled and makes your head feel like it's in a bucket. Owners need to change the speakers because you can never understand what song is playing and it's just a muffled mess. But we think with this place at least once a month and that never stops us from returning.
Because it was a very busy night, it was a little louder than I would prefer.
My wife and I invited another couple to dinner on a Saturday night. When we arrived at 5:45, the restaurant was quiet and only had a couple of other parties. However, by the time we left, the restaurant was packed. I'm completely enamored with this place! It's a very cool place with an excellent bar menu. Also, the food is very reasonably priced and delicious. Everyone in our party of 4 said they were very impressed with the food and atmosphere, as well as the service. There is a German theme to many of the dishes - it's only a portion of the menu, which makes it easy for a group with a variety of tastes. We'll definitely be back!
I've been here several times and still think it's one of the best brunch places in Raleigh - although it's not all that large and reservations are a must. Has some typical items, but also some things that are pretty distinct to them.
Visiting friends from out of town, we had brunch. Had a really nice schnitzel with roasted vegetables and pepper jack grits.
Amazing location for a casual date night with great drinks, incredible service and awesome food. Definitely a Raleigh gem!
Restaurant was quaint, staff was very personable and the food was excellent! Will be back :)
