Cape Fear Seafood Company - Monkey Junction
As always we love eating here! Our waitress Jasmine was fantastic and a special thanks to the bartenders for stuffing my olives with blue cheese! Food is always amazing and so is the staff!
Considering it was Mothers Day, we were seated very close to our reservation time. The food, as usual, was outstanding! Tried the new menu item salmon cake and fettuccine - highly recommend to any seafood lover! Jason was an outstanding server, with a great sense of humor. We throughly enjoyed ourselves.
Excellent food, excellent service and friendly staff
We had a 6:30 pm reservation on a Saturday evening and were seated promptly. Service and food recommendations were excellent. Crab dip and fried okra appetizers were enjoyed by all. Several of us had the crab cakes and they were full of crab and not filler. Awesome! The scallops were amazing and the creamy risotto and fresh asparagus were cooked perfectly! We can not wait to come back again when visiting our son! Highly recommend eating at Cape Fear Seafood Company.
Excellent seafood for a fair price. We will definitely be back.
This is my favorite place to dine. Thank you for great food and service.
Service was kind of slow, we had to ask another waitress for water as ours hadn’t brought it after several minutes. Appetizers were absolutely delicious, we had the mussels and crab dip. However we both had seafood platters 1 broiled and 1 fried. Both of our scallops were undercooked and so was the broiled fish. Potatoes were still raw. But we will give them another try because we enjoyed the experience.
Went with a group. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. They had broiled shrimp, fried shrimp basket, and stuffed flounder. I usually get fried shrimp but tried the shrimp and grits at the recommendation of the server who stated it was lauded by "Our State Magazine," a magazine that highlights various events, establishments etc in NC. I don't know if that is true or not but I found the dish to be ordinary- not the best Shrimp & Grits I have had- I have eaten this dish on several occasions including in Charleston, Savannah etc.
There was a little too much sauce, the grits could have been smoother and should have had more shrimp IMHO. It had a good flavor but the execution was just a little off to me. This would not prevent me from returning to CFS, but I would stick with the fried shrimp next time. The calamari appetizer is quite good and enjoyed by the whole table. They were running a special on wines that night- $4/4oz or$8/8oz for wines sold by the glass. So that gave us a chance to try different wines we night not ordinary order.
The server was great; very friendly and attentive. Overall an enjoyable evening.
Cape Fear Seafood is one restaurant that is always on my must-try list for out of town guests, and this time was no exception. I made a reservation through OpenTable so we had no trouble getting seated right away. The shrimp and grits was absolutely delicious, the lobster risotto was on-point, and the scallops were perfectly cooked and fantastic. Fantastic experience as normal!
Great food. Fresh and well prepared. Friendly waitstaff.
Excellent choice for an elegant meal served by a great service team. Prices are reasonable and the drinks were excellent. We highly recommend Cape Fear Seafood Company for an excellent dining experience.
My only complaint about this restaurant, after having been here 3 times, is that whenever I make a reservation they usually steer me to a table not to my liking. When I ask to be seated at another empty table, they say "no. We have reservations for that table." Well, I have a reservation too, and both tables are empty. (In this last case, 3 tables were empty and I preferred either of the other two.) So they always make a big deal and have to check with someone. This time, they gave us our preferred table. On another occasion, they did not. Third occasion we sat at the bar. I don't understand what the deal is with this.
My suggestion would be to add a better side menu. I am a vegetarian so your menu was limited.
Always consistent and dependable that their food is great! Great choices and their specials are delicious.
Our server (Dan) was great. He had a fun personality and was very knowledgeable. The atmosphere was cozy. The food was AMAZING. If you are in Wilmington...make sure to stop by this restaurant.
Excellent service and delicious food. It was a bit noisy and the decor could be improved, especially in the back dining area.
We have never had a bad experience here. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu!
Drinks were very overpriced, very small and lacked alcohol..
I have eaten at both the Monkey Junction and the Belville location multiple times. Each experience has been exceptional, the fish is always fresh and the wine list is very, very good.
The atmosphere is quiet, so good for a business lunch, a date, or dinner with your spouse or friends.
As usual, service here was outstanding, food was fantastic. We only go here when we visit our friends in CB and Wilmington, but every time we go, we are not disappointed!
Always pleased while dining at Cape Fear Seafood. Never less than happy.
Great food and Great Service . First time there with my family from out of town.
Took my husband to Cape Fear Seafood for his birthday, along with our daughter and her friends. We only splurge on special occasions and Cape Fear was a good choice for a one time dinner. The food was great, the waiter was fantastic, but it was very pricey.
With company in town, we had a terrific dinner on a Friday night. Attentive staff and food was delicious, as usual. Our go to place, did not disappoint!
All was very nice. My only criticism is the booths are not comfortable.
Always a great dinner. One of our families favorites. Noise level is low. Service is always timely. Best part is the food - cooked to order and full of flavor.
The evening was EXCELLENT! The chef’s specials were awesome and the price points were very reasonable. My server catered to my every wish. I’ll most definitely return!!!
Good food and excellent wait staff. Very attentive waitress, seated without waiting.
Food and service was outstanding but the ambiance did not fit.
Cute restaurant. Server was very sweet. Average seafood. Oysters are pre-fried
We made a reservation online, arrived on time, seated quickly, and enjoyed the food and selections very much.
Dined there many times when in the area.. always a great experience!
Love the food and service at our local restaurant!
I took my friend from Chicago and we both thought the food was outstanding especially the mussels in the white sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Cape Fear Seafood is a favorite restaurant....particularly the Monkey Junction location. Peter was our server— very personable and responsive to any need! We enjoyed the crab cake sandwich, oyster basket, and fish sandwich. All were wonderful!
Our go to spot for date night! Staff is super friendly, food and drinks are great.
Always very good
Wild caught salmon was melt in your mouth
Love their green bean side
Wonderful ambience, food is succulent, and great service.
We love eating a Cape Fear Seafood. The food is fantastic each time. Family from the middle of the state love to visit Wilmington. They tell us it's to see our family, but we seem to always eat at Cape Fear Seafood too...
Store front restaurants sometimes concern me but this place is pretty nice once you step in and several of us got specials and they were very good and not too expensive. It is pretty small so I would suggest reservations. It isn't too noisy so you can have good conversations. Wine list not that big but the prices and pours were quite good.
