Cap City Fine Diner & Bar - Dublin
Not as good as it normally is. Server was inattentive, food was mediocre.
We have never been disappointed at a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. And Cap City is one of our favorites along with Molly woo, the Avenue, the Pearl Cameron’s American Bistro. Let’s just say you can’t go wrong at any CMR.
This is the first time that I have ever been disappointed with my Cap City experience. I ordered the meatloaf as I have always enjoyed this dish. The food was not hot when it was brought to the table. The bread was hard and very difficult to cut into. The overall quality of the food that day was just not good. I did not complain as it was quite busy and I hate to be that customer, but the more I thought about it, the more disappointed I became with my dining experience that day. Our server was phenomenal, so I didn’t want the food experience to overshadow the dining experience, however my experience that day was a huge letdown.
My wife loved her gluten free Reuben sandwich and she appreciated the gluten free options. We will be going back.
The noise level was defining! You could not carry on a conversation with anyone at your table without yelling!
The servers were very attentive to our three young grandchildren's needs. Service was fast as we wanted it with the grandchildren and grandparents in and out in 1 hour. Great job.
Waited almost 25 minutes for a table in spite of having a reservation, and was told that we had to wait for “people to clear out” before we could be seated. Numerous large parties with reservations after ours were seated first.
Also mentioned online when making reservation that it was a birthday...but no mention made by anyone.
In spite of these things, server was great, food was awesome and definitely will return.
Great atmosphere, good parking and I love
the gluten free menu!
The atmosphere is pretty cool and the menu has a lot of variety, but it has very high end pricing for what is mostly tavern food. It’s quality food, but just feels a bit overpriced. Service is great and this location is excellent.
Meatloaf was cold. Iced tea had a very strange taste
Perfect for a quiet lunch...business or pleasure.
This visit was not up to the restaurants usual service level. My 2 person reservation was confused with a 4 person walk in and then 2 walk ins were seated before us. At the table server was slow to the table. He took drink order and appetizer order and we received appetizer 10 minutes before our iced teas. We never received rolls. We were celebrating a birthday that wasn't noted. Food was wonderful and I think that this experience is not the usual experience.
Food was great. Was there for a dinner meeting. Only complaint if any was that music was really loud. Otherwise a very good experience.
To noisy, poor food, seemed like a kids McDonalds.
We expected much better service... waitress had too many tables. The only thing that came quickly was the check. Ribeye steak was NOT a 30.00 steak. Expected better from a CM restaurant.
Service was excellent and the food was very good! I deducted 1 Star because we were delayed in being seated. We were told they were cleaning our table but when we were shown to our table about three quarters of the tables were empty! I couldn’t understand why we were forced to wait.
This particular visit to Cap City was not comparable to previous experiences. We probably eat there 6 times a year. We arrived with a reservation, were seated on time, but it was 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. When a server finally stopped we were compelled to place drink and dinner orders at the same time since we were unsure when he would stop by again. Our server seemed more interested in being humorous than attentive. The food was good, the service was off. It was busy but not crazy. We will try it again but maybe not soon.
Our birthday dinner for our 11-year-old started off well. It was an extremely busy night at the restaurant but we received our appetizers quickly. From there, things slowed down. It was clear that our server, who was very nice and trying his best, was overwhelmed. By the time we finished our entrées, he was nowhere to be found. We mad the mistake of having our daughter’s birthday cake stored in the kitchen. After 20 minutes had gone by, i had to flag someone down to get it.... We ended up being at the restaurant for more than two hours. Food is always good, but it wasn’t the experience we were hoping for.
The service was not that great. I barely saw the waitress. She could have done a better job at waiting on the table.
The food was great. Nice portion sizes. Nice ambiance.
The only issue we had was the waitress was friendly enough, but wasn't attentive enough. Someone else refilled my coffee and we had to call someone else over to check on our desserts, and finally bring them.
I looked forward for some time to having your liver and onions. The potatoes, vegetables and sauce were excellent. The issue resolves around the liver. It was difficult to find it! The amount served was extremely small and in tiny little pieces. I would suggest a reappraisal of the presentation of the liver, onions and sauce. First time I have ever been disappointed with my food. Regardless, I shall return.
Everything about the experience was good. Bill, our waiter, was outstanding and made our dining experience particularly enjoyable. A friend took me there for my birthday and the food was great, the service was really great, and I left knowing I want to go back soon. Nice job, Cap City!
The food was tasty and plentiful, and our server was attentive, but not annoyingly so. We had plenty of time to sit and talk and didn't feel rushed, although I would have preferred if our entrees didn't come out right on top of our appetizers - we'd barely started on the apps when the entrees arrived.
We were seated immediately at our reservation time. The food was excellent as always. The only negative is that we had to ask for water refills twice and our server seemed a little put out by our request. Other than that we love Cap City diner.
Fantastic family meal, great beverage service, love the bourbon and water! Food was perfect as always.
Service was great as well as the food my wife had problems with her knee and asked for a bag with ice in it they were very helpful and understanding will go back again
Met a college friend for brunch. My friend had the quiche and I had eggs and hash. Both dishes were presented exquisitely with flavor to match. And our server, Jarod, was exceptional. Best server in town! I will return to this eatery many times again.
Service and food top notch. Seating location not great as we were in direct path of cold air when front door was opened and people waiting to be seated were kind of close to table at times.
Server, Jonathan was great. Food was great. Overall experience was near-great. Definitely will return.
We had a drink at the bar first and that was good. However our waitress for dinner was terrible. Had us handing her our dirty dishes and reached across the table all the time. I went to the restroom after dinner so around 830 and it was filthy as none of the toilets were flushing
Food was overpriced for quality. Noisy also for “fine dining” as advertised.
Cap City in Dublin is one of our favorites. Love the environment and the food.
Robin and Diana Lorms
Phenomenal, as per usual. We had Abraham serve us. He was the best you could hope for, just like the other two times he has waited on us. Will come back as often as is feasible. Couldnt be happier with the experience!
Great food and service! Lower the music some please. Thank you!
Wednesday-Liver and Onion special and a couple of Martinis. What can be better? Cap City does not disappoint.
The ambiance was fine, I enjoyed the music they played, the food was delicious and the service was exceptional. We had a reservation for a group event, the online process for the reservation was smooth and everything was as requested when we arrived. I can't say enough about the service, our waiter was perfect. I would definitely recommend the restaurant to friends and co-workers. I marked the price question a little lower but only because I never saw the bill, our director paid but I'm sure it was reasonable based on the pricing on the menu. thanks again for this experience.
First visit there but won’t be last. Reasonably priced and server Jacob was outstanding. Try the Buffalo Blue Potato Chips. Good variety on menu.
Very noisy atmosphere. Our waitress had a hard time hearing us! Food was average, service was good.
Amazing! Our waiter was fabulous, food was delicious and delivered incredibly fast.
