Canyon River Grill
The chef cooked our steaks to perfection, we will be back again!
It was nice to good to a dinner that the food was as great as we we’re told it was. The service was wonderful as well!
It’s worth the drive.
We loved the food, the tables were a bit to close together, would have really liked the indoor fireplaces as well as outdoor fireplaces lit for a more romantic vibe, a bit of a let down
Very good four course Valentines Day dinner. The food was terrific. Great people to serve. Just a little costly. We will go back.
Everything was good except the folding chairs, my wife nearly fell not realizing it was folding chair and my complaint was they are not very comfortable for a 1.5 hour sitting.
We were practically the only people in the place but our waiter was great as was the food. Definitely would go back.
What an exceptional location and comfortable dining environment. The blend of a rustic country setting, hometown hospitality, and exceptional food made for a night to remember. Tony was such a gracious host and made sure we had everything we needed. We also paired dinner with local wine and beer and a stay at the adjacent Canyon River Lodge. Everything was perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better escape from the dreary January Seattle weather. Can't wait to come back!
Wonderful Oasis in the middle of the gorgeous Yakima River Canyon between Ellensberg and Yakima. Excellent Chef, super services, very comfortable and delicious. We had dinner there two nights in a row!
A friend and I came for an early and relaxed lunch. Our table was ready upon arrival and the staff did an excellent job. I had the Street Tacos and a glass of wine this visit, both were awesome. I can't think of another place I would rather have gone to. The atmosphere is beautiful, relaxing and very clean. My hats off to your staff! I will be back again and happy to refer my friends to your wonderful restaurant.
Tony, our waiter was a GEM! We had a group of 8 and he was outstanding with everyone’s requests. And his smile and laugh just made our experience so welcoming and fun! Thanks Tony!! Can’t wait to come back!
Our first time in and we really enjoyed ourselves! Thanks!
We had wanted a special place for our family to eat for a Christmas gathering. Always wanted to try the restaurant, but just never had the chance. We were so pleased with the entire experience and will certainly be back!
Food was great, wish the place had a little more space for bigger guys. Overall a good place.
Casual café setting with attentive and quick service. However the food was lackluster at best. While the fried calamari appetizer was fine, neither my husband or I finished our entrees. My Italian Chopped Salad was a big bowl of iceberg lettuce, diced meat and a few cherry tomatoes, soaked in too much dressing. Was expecting romaine lettuce and ingredients chopped much smaller. Husbands Pulled Pork Tacos were gloppy BBQ sauce soaked pork with the consistency of oatmeal. Not bad tasting but very messy to eat. Also, we were the only diners present and they chose to sit us directly behind the rather loud bar patrons, backsides 4 feet from out table. Next time think I will stay in my room at the adjoining lodge and cook myself.
Beautiful setting. Menu is expensive for what you get and limited choices. My husband had the chop chop salad and there was nothing to it but iceburg lettuce. Bring back the southern fried chicken! Our friends had burgers, they were good. Service is wonderful. Lemon cake is heavenly.
Julie was our server & she was a delight. Good food, good drinks (I love their cherry infused bourbon & coke) quiet corner table, beautiful view, great conversation with server. Took a walk down by the river after dinner, such a peaceful setting. We’ll be back.
We were disappointed in the menu selection and the quality of the food. For the price, I would expect better.
The Canyon River Grill has a beautiful view of the Yakima River, dining on the shaded deck is wonderful spring, summer and fall. Every meal we've had here has been delicious, and the service is thoughtful and friendly. The scallops were made perfectly, served over a creamy risotto and grilled zucchini. Even the drive through the Yakima Canyon to get to the restaurant is beautiful!
The food was amazing! The steak was the best I’d ever had-cooked perfectly with amazing flavor! The employees were very friendly and helpful.
beautiful setting overlooking the Yakima river. very friendly staff, good food
Food was delicious, unfortunately not exactly what I requested. (I had asked that there be no cheese on the burger). The waiter was charming. Enjoyed sharing with guests from Arizona.
Everything was good except my salmon was over done on the dry side
Wonderful looking menu but a poor execution on the food. A medium rare steak was cooked well beyond what could reasonably be even medium. For a restaurant that will cost about $50 a head you need to do better.
Great little Oasis! Loved it & will be back.
Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Mgt was friendly & stopped by and chatted. Great food too!! Awesome job all!
EXCELLENT Customer Service!!!
Our meals were DELICIOUS !!!
We love coming here. It's a new menu, but it's just as delicious as it's always been! Thank you for the wonderful service and food!!
If you don't mind paying more for the sizzle than the steak, this is the place to go. It is by far the best restaurant in the Yakima Canyon. Of course, it's the ONLY restaurant in the Yakima Canyon. They know it, too. Prices are sky high for what and who they are, but they are trying to make an exclusive resort out of it. The Porterhouse steak and halibut special were well prepared and delicious, if not a bit ordinary, along with the presentation. Service was cheerful and supportive, but not polished. Outdoor seating was a sunny, scenic delight until the sun went down and the wind picked up, when we had to move inside to the rather limited bar to get warm. Oddly, specialty and well drinks were moderately priced, but my martini up in a skimpy, stemless "martini glass", with call brand, was $16.50, which was totally out of line for a fishing resort. It's a beautiful venue for an anniversary dinner, when you don't care what you are paying anyway. Go once to enjoy it, then head to Ellensburg or Yakima for more bang for your buck.
Our experience was wonderful. The staff was very efficient and helpful. The chef did an excellent job on presentation and preparation of our meals.
Great experience overall. Server was fantastic. Food was great.
We have family in Yakima and Ellensburg, so we thought Canyon River Grill would be a great father's day location, and it was. The service was excellent and the food delicious. The deck is great, right along the river. There was close and ample parking for people who have difficult time getting around. We will for sure be back again.
Food was cooked perfectly the way we wanted it exceeding our expectations. We sat out side and it was lovely to listen to the river as we ate. And my wife said they had the best bloody marrys that she has ever had.
We came to celebrate my son's college graduation. Sitting outside was absolutely beautiful. The view was lovely. The server was prompt and friendly, made great suggestions and the food arrived timely. The lemon mascarpone cake at the end was to die for. We are planning to go back when in the area for sure.
Service was exceptional. I have the pan seared halibut and it was fabulous. My husband had the porterhouse and it was really good flavor was wonderful and it was nice and tender.
Outstanding food, beverages and overall great times! The Filet mignon was the best the wife and I have ever had!
Food was OK. Went for a father’s day experience. I felt like the buffet was set up amidst the shop. But it was fun. ‘Nuff said
The location is nice but there is a parking lot right next to the outdoor dinning and people running there noisy trucks takes away from the experience. Food was overpriced for the quality and the service was fair at best.
Buffet was cold including the gravy and prime rib. Disappointed, expected more for the cost of the brunch.
Food was delicious, atmosphere was relaxed, beautiful setting, friendly staff
Great food and drinks, attentive service and beautiful views
Outstanding rating based on a beautiful day and seating on the deck. Food and service is excellent, thus worth a visit back to critique the inside section. Regardless, worth the visit and drive to the Canyon location, especially when the floaters and anglers are on the river.
