Sometimes the magic of sharing a table with friends over fabulous food and wonderful wine can be elevated by a place. Canyon Kitchen has that impact. Canyon Kitchen uses local produce and organic selections from our own community gardens and the surrounding area to source our creative Appalachian cuisine. Our multi-course menu is offered a la carte and will change regularly, sometime daily, and is enhanced by an extensive wine list and fresh, seasonal cocktails. A $40 corkage fee will be charged for bottles up to 750ml.

We recommend that all parties arrive 30-45 minutes before their reservation to take in our beautiful meadow. Reservations of 6 or are subject to a $25 per person credit card hold that will only be charged if you cancel within 24 hours of reservation.

20% service charge is added automatically to each check to be distributed amongst our front line staff. We thank you in advance.

This was our first visit to Canyon Kitchen, and everything about it was exceptional. First (and most important) impression came with our server, Yeu. She was a darling - so very attentive and sweet to us! What a difference that can make to any meal! The restaurant itself is beautifully rustic, with a big warm crackling stone fireplace at the front. Our food was delicious - both of us had the Osso Bucco with a delicious tiki masala sauce and green pea risotto. I had to take half of it home - big generous servings! A nice wine complemented the entire evening. We’ll be back!

This is our 3rd visit to Canyon Kitchen. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting! The views out back are fantastic and picture worthy! I wish the menu was a bit more expansive. The bread service was amazing. Our server was excellent! The atmosphere is perfect.

Always a pleasure to eat at Canyon Kitchen a few times when we are in Sapphire. Chef Ed has new things on the menu and the fried pork wings rocked. Service pleasant and professional as always.

Food was amazing and service was great. Food actually came out rather quickly, but we didn’t feel they were rushing us. We were surprised with the 20% service charge , that is an imposition and it should be disclosed.

We celebrated our anniversary at Canyon Kitchen. It was a great experience from start to finish. The staff acknowledged our celebration and made the entire dinning experience one to remember. The food was excellent! We will be back!

Canyon Kitchen has rebounded nicely since Covid days. Our server was outstanding, allowing us plenty of time to enjoy each course while giving us just the right amount of attentive service. As we are vegetarians, we appreciated having a main course option, the stuffed squash. It was fabulous. We loved the interesting and varied wine choices. Finally, the setting is beautiful. We did not venture outside because of the cold evening, but inside it is warm and romantic, especially with a table near the fireplace.

We were very put off by being charged 23% tip plus for our waiter. We are from a big metropolitan city and no one does this . It was very offensive and very surprising. No notice up front.

A beautiful location and great ambiance always delighting the senses. Our starter, the 3 pieces of quail breast medallions were tender and scrumptious. The blackened mahi mahi was good but a smaller piece of fish was served than expected. The stuffed garden squash entree was delicious- all its Mediterranean flavors married beautifully and the portion was more than ample. For desert we shared the German chocolate cake - an outstanding ending. Needless to say, the service was impeccable.

Collards are great and so was the bread. My Mahi mahi didn’t have a lot of flavor but I guess I shouldn’t have ordered that in the mountains. My husband loves the quail.

Beautiful venue and amazing food and service. Smaller menu than one would expect, but allows the chef to feature great locally sourced options that are "must haves" when enjoying time in the North Carolina mountain region. Very popular restaurant with visitors and locals alike so make reservations! During the summer, seating outside with views of the meadow and mountains are spectacular. Spring/Fall enjoy the indoor dining room with a beautiful stone fireplace keeping the place warm and inviting.

Wonderful place for drinks and to watch the sunset on the mountain! Food is always great although I wish they offered unique creations to add variety to the menu. We eat there often and would love more seafood options or seasonal dishes to add a flair of excitement for locals. Hint hint😉

Once we ordered our food we never saw our waiter again until we flagged him down for our bill. 20 percent service charge was automatically included so I guess service didnt matter to the waiter if he was guaranteed 20 percent. Only one entree out of four was decent. “Caesar” salad was made with iceberg lettuce. Cocktails were great. Overall very disappointing to have such poor food and service in such a beautiful setting.

Even though the restaurant was super busy, the service was amazing. Our table right next to the fireplace made our experience cozy. the food was delicious and we had a wonderful time! We will be back next year as always.

My only negative feedback is the constant auto gratuity. Worked in plenty of restaurants and especially at a higher end place seems a bit of an over step. Either pay the employees fair wages where tips aren’t required or do not push to customer. It makes consumers less likely to tip more. Service was great

This was a birthday celebration dinner and it was delightful. Our server was a lovely lady from Bali who was friendly, professional and so accommodating. We began with cocktails outside enjoying the beauty of fall colors and perfect weather. We were seated near the roaring fireplace which was so romantic. I ordered the small plate tuna, my husband had the halibut and we shared collard greens. All dishes were delicious and presented beautifully. Canyon Kitchen is our favorite restaurant in the Blue Ridge area.

Canyon Kitchen provides a dining experience and is the first place we think of when we have good friends coming for a visit or have an event to celebrate. This recent visit did not disappoint. The food was creative and delicious and the service was wonderful. Our guests enjoyed it very much. We’re looking forward to our next visit.

This is our fourth time to Canyon Kitchen. The ambiance is great. Last night we were disappointed in food selections and quality. We had read menus online & prepared for filet but only steak was a NY strip and not as tender. Other selections were not available. Dessert was very good. Drinks from bar outstanding.

With the surroundings of this restaurant and all the hype, we built our expectations so high. We were moderately disappointed with how our experience turned out. The food we ordered was very bland, we had multiple services circling to our table, which made the “nice” aspect of the dinner not so nice because we never connected with one server. We were also contacted about moving our reservation later without much detail, but we were later told it was to offer us a better table. Of course we accepted. Upon arriving, and being sat, we were most definitely not put at a nicer table. We were sat out on the patio, which was cold, dark, and lacked a view of any kind because it was so late it was dark outside. The man at the host stand was also extremely cold and unwelcoming. We were made to feel as if we were an inconvenience or annoying. We won’t be returning, which is unfortunate because this was our favorite place to go when visiting the area. Our experience tainted our like of Canyon Kitchen, which is sad. Hopefully they learn from this review.

Without a doubt, Canyon Kitchen serves the best food we’ve ever eaten. We consider ourselves well-traveled and gastronomically experienced, so I think it’s fair to say that means something! Although every plate has ingredients we recognize, the flavors elevate those ingredients in ways that we haven’t experienced before. When a chef is capable of transporting beef short ribs and pork tenderloin to a state of bliss, that’s how one knows she is talented. The pork wings with boiled peanuts is a dish that we would come back for again and again.

Always love Canyon Kitchen. Outside bar area so nice. Dining experience was just ok. Our server was very nice but forgot wine my husband ordered. Our pork wing and tuna apps were really good but tuna very small portion. My daughter and I split the fried catfish and each of our pieces were not done on the inside. Circumference of pieces were fine but not in middle. We told server but she didn’t offer anything for us. Thought at least would’ve discounted our fish! My husband’s pork dish was average. Cornbread and biscuits with blackberry jam was delicious.

The entree which was halibut, was very bland, and had no real flavor. The other items which we were served or well done, and presented nicely, but quality of the halibut detracted with the whole evening we have always enjoyed eating at the establishment and hope that this evening was just a one off.

I always love to bring people here when visiting, unfortunately this time did not live up to their standards. Very unorganized and had to wait forever for food. We ordered a side and it was never put in. We then couldn't get them because the kitchen was "closed". Pretty disapointed

This is a beautiful restaurant, with the right amount of mountain elegance. The food, however, was fine. The atmosphere was beautiful and our server, Ballanger, was awesome. I would definitely recommend it for a special night out because it is such a special place.

It was our first time to eat there. Staff was friendly (thank you to our server Lesley)and while we were waiting (5 minutes) for our table every staff member who passed us greeted us and checked on us. We had a wonderful meal and great wine. We’d previously been to CK for cocktails and saw the not so good reviews posted for the night we were there for drinks. That was not our experience. Yes, it was busy and the rain was a torrential downpour. Staff did their best IMO. I would say that if you didn’t have a great experience, please try again. As many of you know, there is a shortage of workers for the area. Staff are driving an hour or more to work. A little patience and understanding goes a long way.
