Sometimes the magic of sharing a table with friends over fabulous food and wonderful wine can be elevated by a place. Sitting at the foot of the largest granite face on the East Coast in the Sapphire Valley, Canyon Kitchen has that impact. Canyon Kitchen uses local produce and organic selections from our own community gardens and the surrounding area for the foundation of his creative Southern cuisine. Our multi-course menu is offered Ala Carte and will change regularly, sometime daily, and is enhanced by a list of wines produced using only sustainable, organic, or bio-dynamic practices.. 20% service charge is added automatically. A $50 corkage fee will be charged for bottles up to 750ml. An additional $50 will be charged per additional 750ml.
For parties of 8 or more, Canyon Kitchen has a 48 hour cancellation policy. The credit card on file will be charged $20 per person, if we have not been notified of cancellations.

I had high expectations for this beautiful restaurant and setting in the mountains. Service was extremely poor and inattentive, food mediocre. We won’t be going back.
The place is beautiful! We arrived 5 minutes prior to our reservation only to be asked to wait 20 minutes to be seated. The food was great but the meal was long due to delays in service. Our server apologized for forgetting to place our order after another 30 minute wait. Everyone was pleasant and the food good so .. We will definitely go back.
Fantastic atmosphere and cuisine!! Can’t wait to go back.
Beautiful atmosphere, but unfortunately the food pulled the experience down. It was poor quality, poorly prepared and not worth the price. We have been here before and enjoyed it, but this time we were really disappointed.
Just amazing ...will be back.... loved the trout, deviled eggs, and pork cutlets...
We have been frequent patrons to Canyon Kitchen over the years. The food and presentation was quite good, despite the return to a "traditional" menu (when there were two or three selections per course to choose from we felt like the menu was special for that week) but there seemed to be something lacking in the general atmosphere that evening. And there seemed to be some seating/reservation issues that distracted the host from keeping an eye on the dining room in general. The setting is still amazing but the expected flair and extra attention to detail seemed to be missing the night we were there. Our service was poor and we were quite disappointed that the bill for a table of four included the mandatory 20% because we didn't feel like the attention we received that evening warranted a 20% gratuity. Dear server - please do not begin clearing the table until all diners are finished with their course. If you are not going to refill our water glasses please leave us a pitcher of water at the table. Please check our drink/wine situation before the entree comes out. Host, please do not take away chairs from our table (for use at another table) while we are dining. Our server took our order and then brought us the bill....no other visits in between. It is early in the season and certainly there are kinks to work out so we hopeful for a good experience during our June reservation.
A perfect evening...gorgeous setting, wonderful friendly service, delicious food...perfect for celebrating two special birthdays!
Food was really good and the scenery was worth going for. Could tell they all needed to polish up on proper service especially wine service.
Beautiful setting, outstanding service, and delicious food! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend this venue.
Superb experience! The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable! The filet I had was phenomenal as well as the flounder and the Caesar salad! Props to the new chef! Can’t wait to return!!
Absolutely delicious! Great service and wonderful atmosphere! When we first got there our table was ready but they told us we could go to the bar, get a drink and enjoy the wonderful gardens and atmosphere. We sat outside, since it was a gorgeous day, for about 15-20 min. Then they brought 2 different types of bread with 2 different types of butter and a delicious jam. I had the Flounder Ponchetrain and John had a shrimp dish, we got the fingerling potatoes and then a beet/yogurt dessert. Everything was fabulous! We're definitely going back!
We were dining with a group of 8 friends and I was surprised by a proposal! The staff and my friends helped my now fiancé make the special arrangements which resulted in one fo the most memorable nights of my life! We loved the wine selections, table by the fire on a cold April eve, and of the course the creative, beautifully presented food choices.
Excellent dining experience . Highly recommend
I have traveled fairly extensively and this was one of the best meals I have ever had. The food is fairly priced and the entire experience was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed a caesar salad, quail pops (so good!), the filet, the flounder, and a deconstructed key lime pie dessert. The combination of flavors for every piece of our meal was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend!
We have dined at Canyon Kitchen numerous times, and this time we were disappointed in the service. It was my husband’s birthday and I included that on my reservation details, yet the service staff never mentioned anything to us. My husband inquired about two of the more expensive wines, and the waitress said she didn’t know anything about the wines and didn’t offer to get anyone who did. The food was good though not like in previous visits. The cocktail menu was limited perhaps due to COVID. It seemed like the quality of the wait staff has declined and not on level with the prices charged.
As always, beautiful setting, nice food, good service and enjoyable evening. Already made a future reservation for an anniversary celebration.
Great view of the beautiful gardens and box canyon. Our waiter, Cameron and the hostess, I think her name was Hannah were both nice and helpful as was the bartender. The food was amazing! We will definitely return for another great dinner! Reservations are a must even though it wasn’t near full.
Great food & atmosphere. Cameron was a great waiter & everyone that assisted were awesome. Looking forward to going back soon.
Fantastic Ambience and very pleasant staff
Lovely setting, perhaps due to pandemic didn’t feel crowded or noisy at all. Chef and other staff stopped by to inquire about our meal- always a nice touch. Elise our server was wonderful- we really enjoyed her!
Chef Ed’s food was fantastic! We loved everything we had. The atmosphere and view is always amazing! Look forward to returning in June.
Outstanding service, food and beautiful setting.
Outstanding food and ambiance
Such a beautiful place with excellent food!
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food and service. Best meal we've had in a very long time. Cannot wait to come back.
The food was fantastic. Beautiful setting. Extra accommodating and experienced hosts, servers, staff.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere!! Always an incredible experience here.
Very much a tourists trap. Felt very much taken advantage of and cheated. Would never recommend this restaurant to anyone
Great food! And drinks. Scallops were perfect and the cookies and ice cream are a must!
Great dining experience...you should make plans to go before they close for the winter!
Outstanding staff, service, ambiance and great food👏
My husband and I had brunch at Canyon Kitchen. Though the menu was small, we had heard good things and knew that whatever we ordered would be delicious. The restaurant did not disappoint ... especially the Fall Toast. What an unusual combination of flavors that worked so well! And the food is only half of the experience. The views from our patio table were breathtaking! We cannot wait to go back.
One of my favorite restaurants anywhere!
The setting for the restaurant is breathtaking! The problem everyone in our party had was with the food. Many of the selections we had were overcooked or dry. The portions are all small - from the micro-biscuits to the deserts. Even the quantity of condiments served was sparse (pumpkin butter, butter, etc.). Oddly some of the food items were already cut-up for you, i.e. the ribeye steak, as if they needed part of it for another person or dish. Small portions at steep prices!!! There are too many other good restaurants to chose from in the area.
It was our anniversary and our dinner was top notch. Our server, Hallie, was the best!!
OMG, the setting is beautiful, the food amazing and the service outstanding! Since we were early for our lunch seating, the hostess offered to let us explore the grounds or be seated. She checked our temperatures and we chose to sit outside on a gorgeous day and enjoy a drink. We were seated at our designated time. Tables are spaced apart and servers all wore masks. The quality of the food was super fresh. The servers all looked after each other, filling water glasses and clearing dishes if needed. The apple crumb a la mode for dessert was the exclamation point on a great meal. Highly recommend the experience!
Reservations are recommended.
Amazing food and view and service!
Wow!!! Seriously, this was a perfect meal...location...service...day!!!
Made a decision to travel to the Canyon Kitchen after reading a review in Garden and Gun magazine. We were not disappointed!!! The view of Sapphire Valley was breath taking. The restaurant building was magnificent. The staff were excellent, personable, and professional. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. Just wish they still had trout on the menu. We enjoyed dinner on a Friday night and then returned for lunch the next day. We will certainly be returning to the Canyon Ranch in the future and will recommend to all of our friends.
