Sometimes the magic of sharing a table with friends over fabulous food and wonderful wine can be elevated by a place. Sitting at the foot of the largest granite face on the East Coast in the Sapphire Valley, Canyon Kitchen has that impact. Canyon Kitchen uses local produce and organic selections from our own community gardens and the surrounding area for the foundation of his creative Southern cuisine. The fixed price, multi-course menu changes regularly, sometimes daily, and is enhanced by a list of wines produced using only sustainable, organic, or bio-dynamic practices.. 20% service charge is added automatically. A $30 corkage fee will be charged for bottles up to 750ml. An additional $30 will be charged per additional 750ml.
For parties of 8 or more, Canyon Kitchen has a 24 hour cancelation policy. The credit card on file will be charged $20 per person, if we have not been notified of cancellations.
This was our first visit to Canyon Kitchen but definitely won't be our last! I cannot believe that we haven't been here before! We love fine dining and dine out often while in the Highlands. The view is so beautiful and ambience is absolutely perfect for a romantic dinner for two or dining with friends/family! We arrived an hour early to relax and watch the sunset! I am so glad we did! It is a must do! The food was excellent from start to finish with both my husband and I having different dishes! Service was warm, friendly and perfect! Our table was on the back porch overlooking the mountains and moon high in the sky! We can't wait to return to this beautiful place!
Beautiful to have a drink outside with the gorgeous scenery. We have diner here many times before and it’s always “hit or miss” with the good. This last dining experience was average.
Entrees were not so good. Short ribs were very fatty. Dessert was pretty good. Steak tartare started was ok except it needed some kind of sauce on it. Sorta drab. Beet salad was good.
Probably will try it again next year. The ambiance is by far, the high point. Wish food could be more consistently good.
We had our wedding reception here 7 years ago and were celebrating our anniversary. Great meal and service as always in such a beautiful location.
Need to have at least a couple of seafood options on the menu (rather than only 1).
Amazing. First time, will definitely return. Unique and delicious.
I was called away on a serious family emergency...Kellie and Abby packed up my food with no problem and were very kind. I was there last night...Saturday...for drinks and appetizers and was treated impeccably by the bar manager who even made sure my drink was satisfactory this evening. Thank you to all! You’re amazing!!
We enjoyed the evening although it was chilly inside. Very pretty, friendly & food unusual. Expensive.
Canyon Kitchen is the best restaurant in Western North Carolina. The menu is imaginative; the food is flawless. Great wine list. And the ambiance is second to none.
Can't beat the ambiance....menu and plates were yummy. Thanks to Maddie for great service!
Too expensive for food quality. The chicken dish had flavor but very dry, ? Of overlooked. Was out of steak option.
Always such an extra special treat!
We love the restaurant but this last time was disappointing. The beef served was tasteless and chewy- below ordinary. We were celebrating so that made it even more sad! Anyway, it won’t keep us away. We were also surprised that the menus was about the same as it had been just two weeks before.
This is my 4th visit to Canyon Kitchen and I’ve never been disappointed. Always a treat!
The setting is perfect! Beautiful views in a farm-style setting. The restaurant was gorgeous and homey. We enjoyed our night!
We will be back!!!! Enjoyed the experience. Beautiful scenery to enjoy. Waitstaff was very accommodating and friendly.
Have been trying over long period to get reservation. Definitely lived up to expectations! Gorgeous setting and excellent food and service! Hope to go again soon!
Spectacular view, original, delicious gourmet food. Loved the chicken livers, ramen, trout and blueberry dessert!! Pork bellies were to die for too. Service is best in town, an evening to remember!!
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner and truly enjoyed the ambiance. It is a special place for special occasions. Our waiter Cameron was exceptional- very helpful. We will definitely return for another special occasion.
absolutely wonderful setting, excellent service and a unique but delicious menu with interesting choices. We enjoyed the four course setup with options within each. It is a little pricey but worth it, especially for a special occasion.
Wonderful and picturesque place to dine. Loved every part and would definitely return and recommend
Savannah was the most wonderful wait staffer!!!
Beautiful setting and a great dining experience. Service and ambience is excellent. Food is seasonal, fresh, and prepared uniquely. The main course portion could be a slight bit larger for big appetites or a seasonal bread added. Overall, a top mountain dining experience !
We always love a visit to canyon kitchen. Even in the driving rain with no view of the gorgeous rock face- it's still fantastic.
Always look forward to a visit to Canyon Kitchen. The setting is spectacular and I love the tasting menu approach. Food was delicious, location perfect and service outstanding.
Our new favorite restaurant in Cashiers. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner here and had a fantastic experience. Plan to arrive before your reservation to enjoy a drink on the lawn. Our server Jordan was delightful with just the right amount of attention without too many interruptions. We brought a special bottle of wine to celebrate and Jordan recruited the sommelier to help remove a fragile cork. Every course was delicious and just the right portion. We certainly did not leave hungry, but we were not stuffed since the emphasis was on quality over quantity. They even brought us a separate little dessert of two small brownies on a decorated plate with a candle. We were invited to finish our wine on the nice sofa in front of the fire, which was a perfect ending to our dinner experience. We will be back the next time we are in Cashiers!
Fabulous meal with unsurpassed views in a beautiful setting. You cannot go wrong!
This place is magical. Both the food and service are outstanding. The restaurant is open air on at least two sides with incredible views of Lonesome Valley. With respect to the food, we found all eight of our selections(two each of four courses) were all flawlessly prepared. The cost while not inexpensive is worth every penny.
We are visiting the sapphire community for a month you were recommended by everyone we know! And some we don’t know that we have met in town! Excellent choice!
Our server was slow. We had a party of 5 so I think she knew she would get gratuity included. They didn’t bring out kids food and dessert until after ours was served. The location is beautiful but the service and food isn’t as amazing as the venue.
Fresh seasonal ingredients, wonderful blend of foods and herbs.
The food is always a disappointment.
There is always one ingredient too many that just doesn't "go" with everything else.
I actually spit something out.
a beautiful setting and tremendous experience. both food and service were outstanding.
The scenery, food & service was spectacular! Best dinner we have had!
The food has gone downhill from the last time we visited.
Every time we visit the Cashiers area, we always make a reservation at Canyon Kitchen just as soon as we book our lodging! This is a dining experience! The combination of food and the exquisite setting is both unique and outstanding. This visit lived up to our exceptions. Thank you for this wonderful experience!
Excellent food; great waitstaff. A bit disappointed that our confirmed outdoor seating reservations were not honored. Still, a great experience.
Interesting surroundings. Open air dining. Rather than seat you when you arrive, they shuttle you to the bar and give you time to order drinks before they seat you, even when you say you don't want a drink. The service was very good. The waitress and the runner were both pleasant and efficient.
