Cantoro Trattoria - Plymouth
I had a reservation and they sat me in the back by the kitchen and bathroom under a dripping AC unit. Asked to be moved. They put me two tables away right by the kitchen door. Our waitress was very nice. Overpriced food.
Best restaurant, best food, best selection of wine in Michigan! Great bourbon too!!! I highly recommend Cantoro.
GREAT FOOD AS ALWAYS. WHO KNEW A CHICKEN PANINI COULD TASTE SO GOOD?
Brianna is phenomenal!!!! And the food "world class!!" 😉
Our server was great and played along with our sense of humor. We rarely get out :) Her recommendations were spot on and we never felt rushed through dinner. We will be back again.
The hostess staff needs to be trained on customer etiquette. Despite making an advance reservation, we were seated at the worst table in the house next to the stairway to the basement level! We asked to be moved upstairs and were told only walk-ins are seated there. Food was comparable to other Italian restaurants. Servers were polite/attentive. As for a recommendation, I give it a maybe--not sure I will go back.
It was quiet because we were sitting where there was a lower ceiling near the restroom. Very pleasant though. Wonderful food and great service from Brianna. All in all, a lovely evening.
Beyond the market that will dazzle your eyes is a restaurant that will dazzle your pallete. Cantoro's Italian fare at the location in Plymouth Twp. on Haggerty Rd. is the best in the area. The sevice is generally very good if not excellent and the setting, while undergoing construction outdoors, is exciting but you can still have a conversation with your friends at your table. They open an upper level for dinner on weekends and they are re-working their outdoor seating. The original outdoor seating was magical and changing it to accomodate more people for all seaons is understandable from a business perspective but lamentable for those who were lucky enough to experience it. Portions are very generous to the point where ordering dishes to share will leave no one hungry. The only setback are that the main floor dining area can be too small on busy days when the upstairs is not open, and reservations can be poorly managed.
I think the olive oil for dipping could be improved. It is too deep to get much balsamic vinegar, maybe less oil and parmesan. The bread isn't particularly good. It is crusty and chewy which is a must.
The best Italian food in the area, truly gourmet!
Great meal and great service ---- it was everything my friends said it would be
The waitress Anarya was awesome!!!
The food is great with large portions.
The downside is the noise level & not much ambience.
perfect food at a perfect place! The risotto was the usual perfection and the salmon was elegant
Need to complete the addition, so the summer evenings can be enjoyed! Ev so, the food, wine and service are "Top Notch" as always! My "go to" place for Italian dining in metro Detroit!
Love everything about this place, except it does get very noisy. It’s always busy, so that’s a factor with the noise level as well. Food is always excellent and we’ve never had bad service.
Every time we go back it is such a treat. Of course we have to hit the grocery for their special items.
Excellent luncheon menu; plenty to choose from. Service was prompt and efficient and the food was outstanding. Looking forward to another opportunity to visit and try the dinner menu.
Great Italian food. Wonderful service. Everytime I am there.
I would baptize my children in their pasta sauce
Great food. A little warm next to the kitchen but overall excellent
We always return, we come in from Ann Arbor for lunch and then grocery and wine shopping.
My husband and I along with another couple celebrate our wedding anniversaries every single year and decided to try Cantoro Trattoria in Plymouth.
We all agreed that the restaurant has a lot of character and served amazing food!
The four of us ordered six appetizers to share and also order individual meals (mostly to go) and everything ordered was delicious. The table favorite were the Risotto Balls and the Focaccia.
Definitely a place I will be trying again soon.
Always a wonderful experience. Love the food, ambiance and the staff is always professional and attentive.
Delicious food and served hot!!!!
Always love coming here! Huge portions! Got the squid ink pasta and it was delicious
Absolutely wonderful dining experience. I’ve eaten a number of places in Italy and Cantoro makes me feel like I’m there. We had the best of food and warm, friendly yet professional servers.
Food was good. Waiter was cordial. Very loud. We got stuck at a lousy table in the corner near construction staring at half finished drywall and an exit door. Don't know if I would go back or recommend.
Excellent meal and service! Best Italian restaurant in the area!
Very noisy....like a cafe. Food wasn’t hot. Service was mediocre. Will not go back.
One of the guests in my party had a meal where her pasta was not done. The manager was kind enough to offer another meal. She refused as she was full from the yummy appetizers so he took the meal off her bill. We couldn’t ask for better service!
Food was wonderful and service was very good.
Service was just ok. We asked for our meal to wrapped to go and turns out only one of meals was sent home. Very disappointed as we had essentially a full meal that wasn't sent with us. It was a fairly loud restaurant to begin with, but the two tables next to us were obnoxious talking back and forth. The "gentleman" next to us was particularly loud, trying to impress the waitress and his wife with several questions and menu suggestions and basically ruined the evening. We will not be going back as the food wasn't at a level to justify the negative experience.
Excellent food. Excellent Service. looking at the menu things looked on the pricey side, but, what we got definitely was worth the cost.
Delicious, as always! Typically I enjoy the Branzino, but I opted for salmon special and it was so good. I only wish they offered gluten free bread with the olive oil/balsamic. We’ll be back, regularly 😁
Delicious dinner and exceptional wine..always a great night out
Pork chop was dry at 32 $ it was disappointing. Did not care for the chicken piccata The chicken was more poached than sautéed
Delicious food, excellent service. We will be back!
I had lunch here with an out-of-town friend and we had a lot of catching up to do. They did not try to hurry us out although the place was busy. Food was excellent as always. We love Cantoro’s!
It will be a must go to restaurant once the expansion is finished.
