Cantoro Trattoria - Plymouth
This is a great restaurant with the true ability to put amazing food on the table. Seldom have I been to a restaurant that is so skilled that all components on the plates are in harmony and delicious. The staff is friendly, efficient and professional. This is my go-to place for special occasions.
Excellent food! Love the Market also. Great experience!
Excellent food and service. Manager made a point to check on our dinner quality
One of my favorite restaurants. Casual, good food and wine.
We were celebrating my friend’s birthday. We started off with salads the arugula and the mista. Salads were fresh and delicious.
We both had pasta dishes. I had the linguine with salmon and she had pasta bolonagse . We lived our pastas and brought home leftovers for at least one more meal. It’s a good idea to share a dish since it’s so much. Or better yet order different things so you can share your dishes.
Dessert was on them since we were celebrating her birthday. Tiramisu, delicious. One on the best I’ve had.
Good food, service was OK. Reasons we're not enamored ...
First, Price. $29 for Risotto dish is way over-priced. It's rice for pete's sake! (Good though it was) In retrospect, I shouldn't have ordered it in the first place. The other dishes our party ordered were good too but, consensus was, a bit too expensive.
Second, the reservation policy. Groups of 6 or more are automatically assessed a 20% gratuity. 20%!... what if you don't like the food or the service or want to tip 20%? Tips for service should not be determined by the cost of the food but by the discretion of the patron. It's ludicrous to automatically assess a 20% gratuity just based on party size / cost of the food.
This is why we probably won't be back.
Again, food was very good but methinks the owners are overreaching in their pricing.
Very nice food and portions were huge. Had just as much enjoyment shopping in the market before the meal
It is one of my favorite restaurants. I like the food and the wine. The bread is amazing. The dessert is so good too. Very clean and nice staff.
Finally made it to Cantoros! Well worth the wait. Food excellent, service impeccable. I have been there for lunch and dinner now and I can't wait to go back and will definitely recommend to others.
Recently returned from a trip to Italy.
Cantaro’s is as close as you get to authentic Italian food.
Calamari Pepernota is the best. Bar none
Haven’t had a pasta that I didn’t love.
Danny was a wonderful server.
Looking forward to our next visit
Cantoro’s is always great. Thanks again for another outstanding meal.
Great good and fabulous service. Just love eating here. Can't wait to come back.
The food was more than fantastic - I will be back. Loved how I could leave the restaurant and go purchase all that amazing homemade food from the market.
Have eaten there many times and while food was very good to excellent, service rates from OK to poor, on the last visit.
Food was great as always. This place never disappoints.
The food is really good with generous portions. Love the pizza!
Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu
The food was superior. We sat in an area without much light and it was chilly. Further toward the back it seemed more comfortable. Prices were moderate to high for our tastes ($100+ per couple with one drink each and a dessert to share)
Overall very good. First table we were given was next to the window-drafty and overlooked construction. The staff accommodated our request to move. Everything else was fine.
Our small group of 4 came in for a nice lunch and we had very very slow service. Made us late getting back to work. This was the first time for a couple of the them - they will remember the slow service more than the food =(
We always love Cantoro! The only down side to dinner is not having enough time to shop in the market!
We’d heard how good the food is and made the hour trip. Well worth it and will definitely be back - and telling our friends. Service and food were first rate.
The wait staff was incredibly informative and helpful without being obtrusive. One of our party needs a gluten free diet and we were well advised on selections. Food was delicious. Very happy to introduce out of town guests to this wonderful restaurant.
Lovely! Pizza (vegetarian) was perfect. Great advice.
Don’t sit at the 2 person table in the corner. No privacy as it’s too close to other tables
My hubby and I and my Aunt and Uncle celebrated our wedding anniversary's together with a wonderful lunch by the fireplace on Sweetest Day. Our server was wonderful, attentive but not obtrusive. The food was amazing. The veal ravioli are top notch and the Diablo pizza was super spicy! Don't forget to order a foccacia for the table--simple but delicious! Keep up the great job Cantoro Staff and best wishes to you all.
Dinners were excellent and the wine pairing options are outstanding.
This has become our favorite Italian Restaurant and never fails to impress.
Absolutely great place for a meal. After visiting Rome I was delighted to find a dish that was almost identical to the one I had on Via Veneto! The food, the service, and the setting is superb.
We always love this place; if we can get a reservation as it is always busy. Great food and service.
Loyal customer however they need to change up the menu. It’s time. Different entrees are needed .
Great food and service. Ample portions. However, quite loud. Tables are close and all hard surfaces make it difficult to have a conversation.
Always a fantastic meal. It is our favorite place!
Saturday 4:30 reservation (only time available) and a Michigan football game in AA same evening.
We were treated to three tables with screaming toddlers and two tables of drunk UM fans. Food and service were good, but the overall experience here is waning.
Hostess and podium people need a refresher course in manners and their role in a restaurant.
Great service from Inayra - very friendly and attentive!
Enjoyed the bread but wish they offered herbs for the olive oil - we add cheese and pepper but it could still be better. Pasta was delicious. Received a complimentary birthday dessert, which we appreciated!
Restaurant is VERY loud. They need to pay more attention to the bathrooms - trash in the womens’s was overflowing and on the floor.
$47 for 2 alacarte entrees, inc tax & >20% tip.
We just love Cantoros. We have never had a bad meal or service at the restaurant. We cannot wait for the beautiful new all seasons patio to open.
Terrific service and meals! I have never had a bad meal there. Love their food and creations are so yummy! Pleantiful portions!
Food was delicious, service was excellent and their wine selection is extensive. We always enjoy dining (and shopping) at Cantoros!
While my husband enjoyed his entree, here’s what was wrong:
He asked for a cocktail “tall” . Was brought a short glass and were told it would have to come is a soda or beer glass, which was fine with him but waitress reluctant to make it right. Ordered appetizer and entrees at the same time. She brought out app AND my entree . When I pointed out the error she apologized but left me to eat it and watch my husband eat his entree later. What the heck? Will never go back there! So unprofessional! And since we had reservations did not expect to sit in the “Cafe” section. Which could be overlooked if the meal wasn’t such a disaster! And your bread and oil is really lackluster-Bravo’s is SO much better quality!
I've traveled extensively, on four continents, in numerous countries including Italy (several times). I love Italian food, and this place has the best I've tasted in North America. Though I haven't tried them all in all cities, of those I have, I'd recommend Cantoro's as any's equal or better. The service is good (and friendly) too, with food brought in a timely and prompt way, always hot (not microwaved) with salads fresh and the fish, just right. Cantoro's also has an excellent wine selection with varieties to be enjoyed with meals, then purchased in the nearby market. The wine manager will frequently visit a table with a tip and a suggestion.
