Cantoro Trattoria - Plymouth
We had family from Portland, Oregon in town for our granddaughter’s wedding and their stay was extended, so we took them to one of our favorites! They were very impressed!
Our appetizers and entrees took a really long time to come out of the kitchen. We were being served our entrees an hour after being seated. The couple we were dining with really liked their meals. We would not order what we had EVER again. I’d recommend dining there during the week, before or after the lunch rush. We will avoid the Market and restaurant on the weekends! Our server was outstanding, our meals were pricey$!
Good food all the time.
We usually visit for special occasions and today was a belated birthday lunch for my husband. I indicated “special occasion” on the reservation and it wasn’t acknowledged by the server. This isn’t the first time this has happened here and it’s disappointing that birthdays and anniversaries continue to be ignored! (If restaurants aren’t going to recognize them, Open Table should offer a way for them to opt out of having those choices available when making a reservation.)
I had a question about seasonal specials but the waiter didn’t seem very familiar with the menu.
The tortellini was okay but the ravioli is better and I’ll get that next time. I had a great salad the last two times I was here, but it’s no longer on the menu...
Unfortunately, they no longer use the second floor dining area except for parties. If we had known, we may have gone elsewhere - it was always much quieter there and my husband is hard of hearing. (They ignored our specific requests to sit there about half of the time anyway...) The first floor dining is EXTREMELY NOISY!
$24 for alacarte pasta and tap water, including tax and tip. It was good, but it’s a pricey meal.
Wonderful dinner in a charming atmosphere and delicious food. We also love that it’s attached to the market and we can pick up some of our favorite grocery items beforehand.
Service was amazing! Sat in the room with the windows overlooking the lit trees-which was beautiful! Chef made us chicken parm special-which was so nice! Burrata appetizer is amazing!
Noah our waiter was amazing and food great
Generous portions of delicious pastas - seafood- and appetizers -grilled calamari. Wide selection of Italian wines and the best tiramisu we've had in a long time.
As always, the food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. We sat in the new addition annex which was very pleasant and comfortable.
Food was great!! Great to see the recent expansion. Can’t wait to go back.
They didn’t seem understaffed but the service was unusually slow. Most of the food was very good. My meat was undercooked. The prices were a little high. Compared to the food quality the prices were a little high. The vibe is upscale and appropriate for wealthy 60 somethings.
Food was delicious, service excellent.
Simply the best! I always make it a point to eat there when I’m in town. I’ve never been disappointed with anything! A hidden gem.
This is one of our favorite places to eat. When we’re in the area we always try to stop by for a wonderful meal.
I love this place. Food is excellent. Very fresh due to the fact it is a grocery store as week. I have been here several times. All good!!
Excellent food, adjoins a grocery store which is kind of weird but once in the restaurant you’d never notice. Very noisy and a bit hard to hear. But food was excellent.
Great food and service...expense on par with similar restaurants. Open and large dining area was nice, (not necessarily romantic if that’s what you’re after). Definitely would recommend and return.
Amazing place! Great food and great service. Will be visiting frequently.
I loved it here!! My fiancé and I both ordered pasta dishes and they were delicious! Also the portions were ginormous so I felt like I got more than what we paid for. Definitely will be going back.
I ordered the salmon and it was way overcooked. My friend also ordered it and had the same issue. We did not say anything to the waitress because she was fantastic and did such an awesome job that we didn't want her to feel bad or get in trouble or anything. Other than that, everything was fantastic! Everyone else absolutely loved their food. We also ordered a cake from the bakery to have after dinner (it was a birthday) and it was one of the best cakes I've ever had!
Every thing was fabulous. Our server, Melissa was awesome.
Front desk were talked no amongst them
Have been here before with this group of people and always have received great service. This time was a mess. We had to ASK our server to take a drink order. Then she disappeared until the drinks were brought to the table.
After she placed our order we never saw her again until she brought our bills. There were a few of us that wanted another drink and dessert. Too bad for the restaurant because we were not given the opportunity to order again.
Then after everyone but a couple people had left she brought a bill to the table and said that one of our people left without paying. The person who sat next to her told told the server that she had indeed been paid.
I sent an immediate text to that person and asked if she “forgot” to pay her tab. She confirmed that she had paid the tab and had watched the server put the money in her pocket.
The server then told us that “she just couldn’t turn in a tab without the money”.
An evening that had already been a disappointment turned very awkward and uncomfortable.
Our group will not be back.
excellent service and nice, new addition to the restaurant is finally open. Ravioli tasted packaged. I've had it many times before and this is the first time I have been disappointed. Everything else was great
Fantastic time. As always
Everything was all that and more.
Food was great and prepared as specially requested. Wine options were excellent.Servife was good
We loved our dinner at Cantoro. We were pleasantly greeted upon entering the restaurant and brought to a nice table by the fireplace. The timing between courses was perfect. We did not feel rushed, nor did we have to wait. The food was flavorful and portions were large enough that we had lunch for the next day. Shopping the market after dinner was an added bonus.
Best pasta in the Detroit area! Excellent service!
Great, Lynn is a gem!
Was not impressed at all with the Menu. I went for Lunch on Sunday 10/20/19 and was told you can only order from the Dinner Menu. The only reason I visited the establishment was because I received a gift card. Ordered the Margerita Pizza and was very disappointed. It was not even hot and very little cheese.
The food was delish! The calamari appetizer, the pasta, the filet, the wine, and the gelato!
First off, very loud in that back room, especially with the wedding upstairs. I ordered lamb chops, Medium. They came out Rare. Our waiter did a good job and insisted they be sent back for a “couple minutes”, which became 10 minutes. So my wife’s gnocchi got cold while we waited...
The lamb chops are way overpriced considering how fatty they are. Also, they need more beef pasta that is not veal. We will not be returning.
Great service and big portions
Celebrated a birthday dinner. Dinners were excellent and wine was fantastic. Servcie was very good
The food was very good - as usual. The service was very poor. Server was slow in getting to us then VERY inattentive throughout the meal. We are regulars and all agree that they seem waaaaaay understaffed to handle the much larger crowds resulting from the physical expansion of the restaurant. VERY disappointing
Good food, great atmosphere and the market is fantastic.
Food was excellent, One of our favorite places, It never disappoints.
Everything was great except that we it was very loud, to the point where I wasn’t able to hold a conversation because I could hear every word the other tables were saying.
We’ve dined here several times and Cantoros always delivered. Not this time service was slow food was just okay. The cocktails were not up to their usual standards.
