Cantoro Italian Trattoria - Troy
Excellent dinner, beautiful setting outside (and available when requested). Can't wait to go back.
Our service and our meal was excellent at Cantoro's. It's a very comfortable and warm restaurant. We have been here several times and this is one of our "go to" dining destinations. We ordered a bottle of wine, and when our waitress brought it and served us, she suggested next time we try another wine that she thought we might like. She asked us if we would like to sample the wine she recommended for next time, and for the first time ever, we were served a sample in a restaurant. Very note worthy.
The food is great, I had the Saltimbocca and my wife the Ravioli. Both items were fantastic and portions were very large. We had the desert of the day, lady fingers soaked in amaretto, mascarpone filling and a very light top layer with crumbled cookies. Delicious. A must try.
Excellent food, service, varied menu with a few unique items. Roomy so tables not crowded.
We ate outside on a wonderful summer night. Cantoro's never disappoints in my opinion. The pasta is wonderful and you can't beat a bottle of Belle Glos Las Alturis Pinot for $52.
Overall, great food and we had great service. However, when they first sat us, they sat us outside on the patio literally right next to another table and we were the only two tables. It was so awkward and not intimate at all. There was no music just so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Once we moved inside, everything else was perfect.
Joel our waiter was top notch professional. Made our evening even better
Waiter was awful
As always Valintina was an amazing server. She is so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. We ask for her w each reservations. Her smile can melt your heart! Great job “honey”!
First time having been to Cantoro’s in Plymouth many times. Tonight was for our Son’s Birthday! The food was very good the service was good and we’ll be sure to return with Friends.
Excellent meal great service.
Sat outside - beautiful patio
Superb food and service, bruscetta, pasta, fish and wine . Love this place. We are from Chicago and can't wait to come back and visit relatives again so we can come back to Cantoro's.
Early dinner. Service was excellent. Calamari served quickly and hot. Linguini pasta with sausage was very nice. Borelo wine special offering was good
Service from Christopher was excellent. Food was delicious as usual.
Delicious. Will be back again. Food was fantastic.
Fabulous as usual. Everything is good, great service, nice surroundings!
Cantoro is always a top choice. The food and service are both excellent. I am especially a fan of their minestrone.
Just ok. First of all we requested a round table and we were not given one. Second it was freezing ac was on high and we asked them to turn it lower and it never happened. Food was just ok. The other location is better.
Delicious and wonderful service. Great value for money. We will be back.
we were a table of 6 no one had bee there before every one was very well pleased and said they would return
Delicious calamari and lovely cheese tray starter. Waiter was clearly not certain about what cheese was what which was odd for a high-end restaurant. Also, two of three entrees were good, but I had a bad clam in my linguine which was essentially flavorless anyway. Nice decor, timely service, great cocktails and wine choices. Good server but for the lack of knowledge about the chessboard. Extremely loud environment.
I had originally chosen to make reservations at one of our favorite fine dining restaurants in Royal Oak to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. Then I remembered how much we enjoyed our previous dinners with your restaurant. I cancelled with our neighborhood restaurant, made our Anniversary reservations with your restaurant even made a special request. When we entered no one even acknowledged our Anniversary, despite that it was clearly entered both times on our reservation. No one acknowledged through the entire evening. Now mind you, if this had been a Friday or Saturday night I might let it slide. It was a Wednesday night and the restaurant was hardly busy. If you are not going to even acknowledge the special occasion please don’t ask for that information, it’s a little disappointing. The food snd service was as always delightful. I was just a little disappointed that your staff could not have even said “Happy Anniversary”. The little things mean a great deal!
Interesting place. The service and atmosphere were great. But for the money, the food was not a good value. Much better food (at lower prices) can be enjoyed at several other local and nice Italian restaurants. But the wine was fairly priced, and our choice of Pino Nior was very good!
Our server was really bad. It wasn't even that busy. We had to ask HER what the specials were. She said the portions were big, they were not. Italian food is my favorite and I have to say portions were about half of what they are at Maggianos. Pasta dishes were just "eh" in taste. Our serving of oil for the bread was about 2 tsp. for 4 people and that was gone in about 2 min. We had to keep asking for everything- she took no initiative. I asked for fresh ground pepper and I'm expecting the long classy pepper grinder and was handed a salt and pepper grinder in plastic container like you'd find from the dollar store. I won't be back.
We had a wonderful meal. Food was delicious. My only complaint was that I felt the cost of the cocktails was on the high side. Probably over-priced by a few dollars compared to similar restaurants in the area. Nonetheless, we had a great experience and will return. Again, food was fabulous and service was outstanding!
Everything was wonderful - it is rather load and difficult to hear companions
Fabulous food and fabulous waiter!
We requested patio once we realized how loud the room was but it was not possible
The whole experience felt like a cave with echoes. We would only return if patio was available. Indoors was unpleasant although the food was good
Service was good and location was very nice, but (since I am Italian) I was expecting a better pizza from an “Italian restaurant” - it wasn’t bad but it was not even close to Italian standard.
Terry is awesome, I e had him twice now and had great experiences both times. All the food was great and the dessert was amazing.
Awesome waiter (Stephen). Food was excellent as always.
I was not fond of chicken scaloppini dish. Chicken was tough and lemony. Sauce was not what I remembered either. I loved the same entree last time I had it. My husband said the bolognese sauce was not up to par either. He loved it the previous time too. It took a long time to get our drinks but the waitress was very pleasant.
Food and service were outstanding. Everyone in our group raves about their meals. Wine list had a few hard to find bottles with great prices. We can’t wait to go back.
One neat features - can’t decide which pasta you want? They’ll do a half order of each for you.
Absolutely fantastic, from food to service! One of our favorite places! Highly recommend!!
Our waiter(Terry) was extremely helpful, informative, and friendly. We had a great meal!!
Building for Cantoro's-Troy is set well back from Big Beaver Rd, and customers can easily walk into wrong building in front (as I did) close to Big Beaver Rd, which is not the restaurant, but was hosting at that same time private dining functions. This Troy outpost does not have the same bustling, energy of the Plymouth flagship restaurant & market. Troy almost seems like it was designed to appeal to the geriatric AARP demographic. Could almost hear a pin drop on Tuesday night. Good food and service nevertheless.
I cannot stress enough how awesome Cantoro is. It’s my go to for any event. Perfect for dates and celebrations. The food is always incredible.
Food was fantastic, will definitely be back. Service got a rocky start but then got better as the night went on. Overall, prices aren't terrible
