Another nice experience at Cantinetta! The hostess is the best, friendly, and always checking to see that things are going well! Their chilled English pea soup is the best! Our pasta dishes were also very good! Service was a little slow this evening but the beautiful atmosphere as it got darker outside and the wonderful lighting instead made the wait ok!

Overall, pretty mediocre. My house salad came piled 5” high on this undersized plate such that every time I took a bite, a number of lettuce leaves would fall on the table. Annoying. That, and there was nothing to it other than this pile of lettuce with oil and vinegar-no cheese, no pepper. Very underwhelmed. My shrimp pasta dish was so-so; 4 mealy, small shrimp with a tasty saffroned pasta. Presentation was meh. My sister’s crab risotto was also just okay. The risotto was good, but the crab tasted old. Staff was nice and attentive. Overall, it needs some work…

This is a truly lovely, lively, and delicious restaurant to dine at! That said, summers in Seattle are incredibly hot - even in the evenings, and unfortunately inside seating at Cantinetta Wallingford turned out to be a somewhat toasty and stuffy event. If possible, book outside seating to beat the heat!
