Cantina Laredo - Nashville - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
This was terribly overpriced bland food. I cannot say enough about how gross every single thing we ordered was.
The hostess was rude and irritated that we wanted a booth. Server was ok but forgot several things. (Glass of wine, literally all of my husbands side items) she did help us steer clear of some things she thought weren't the best (mole sauce), which I appreciated. Too bad everything on the menu seems to suck.
Cantina Laredo is one of my favorites. My friends and I always have group dinners here together for birthdays and other occasions. They are so accommodating for large groups. We made a reservation for a party of 12 for a Saturday night, and they had no problem upping it to 14 people when I called on the day of. When we got there, our table was ready and the staff was patient and attentive. Food and drinks are great here, a little pricey, but that is to be expected for the area. Always a fun time at Cantina Laredo.
We dined on a Sunday night and there was little customer traffic. We had the mixed Fajitas and although they were not sizzling hot, they were quite tasty. The "made-at-your-table guac was excellent and the margarita were excellent. Overall the service was good and the food and drinks were on par and consistent with what we are used to for Cantina.
This place definitely makes its money off of cheap ingredients and overall bland mexican food. I'm not sure why they call it gourmet mexican, because I'm sure my neighbors 4 year old can make better huevos rancheros than this place. The food is super salty and the portions are small. Anyone that has been to Chuy's, do yourself a favor and don't go here. You will be extremely dissappointed. However, besides them overcharging for everything, their tequila options were pretty good. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. If it wasn't for their staff, I would rate this place as low as possible. For now, I'll just rate it as the kids menu of Mexican restaurants.
Cantina Laredo is a nice, classy Mexican restaurant located in the Gulch area, about 0.7 miles from Downtown Nashville. Service was excellent and the food was very good. You have to try their Queso with Taco Meat appetizer as it was one of the highlights of our meal. For dessert, we had the Mango Tres Leches and it was very delicious.
For my entree, I had the Taco Barbacoa and I enjoyed it. The meat was tender and flavorful. The only thing I did not care for was their tortilla. It was somewhat doughy and hard for a tortilla, almost like a wet cardboard. The texture was like a chewy taco. I still finished my meal but I will probably not try their tacos again unless they change their tortillas.
Nevertheless, I still recommend others to try this restaurant. There were many other entrees that I want to try next time, and the service by Samantha was excellent.
The deal that Open Table advertised for New Years Eve had apparently been cancelled by Cantina Laredo but was still being advertised on Open Table. Needless to say, the three course meal and special drinks was not available. I was told the meal deal should have been removed.....quite deceptive.....
The only positive thing was that our server was wonderful! That's all. Food was absolutely disappointing and gross, which when I had visited there 3 or 4 years ago it was amazing(maybe I was too hungover to really care) I don't know but we won't be back or will we visit any of the other ones.
We were so excited to find this place. We had eaten at CL in Austin and had not forgotten that meal. So, as it goes, the memory was better than the actual experience in Nashville. The homemade quacamole was great and we split the Camaron Poblano Asada ....felt ripped off the steak didn't wrap around the pablano like it had been in Austin. Tasted great though.
We haven't been to Cantina Laredo in several months. It has always been one of our favorites. I have to say that sadly I was not impressed. The food was not very good. We ordered the guacamole that was made table side. I wish the server would have worn gloves instead of using a wet wipe to clean his hands in front of us. I just found it unappetizing.......don't get me wrong, I definitely want his hands to be clean, but it felt like we were watching a surgeon clean his hands before surgery. The atmosphere was very subdued and most of the servers congregating as a group in the back like teenagers was disappointing.
We had our family dinner there after Christmas before everyone went back to their home states. It was a wonderful night out. The place is very bright and cheery looking. The food was more "New" Mexican but it was very, very good. Everyone enjoyed it very much....
The service was incredibly poor from walking in and the hostess and manager not knowing that we had a reservation to the server just disappearing for 20 minutes at a time. I haven't been here in about 2 years and I was shocked. The food used to be better, but the service used to be a 100 times better.
We had our office party there and it was fantastic!! The service was great and the happy hour options spectacular! I definitely recommend Cantina Laredo to everyone looking for a great experience at a reasonable price! Thanks Cantina Laredo for a wonderful time!
First, let me start with the service… Kyle, our server, was great, so this review does not reflect on him. In the five years that I've been going to Cantina Laredo, this by far was the worst meal that I've ever had there, and it was the exact same thing I've ordered at least twice before. My date's meal was also terrible. Like my entre, it had no flavor, limited ingredients, and was just poorly made. The top shelf margaritas that we ordered were also terrible. They were too sweet, and there was no hint of tequila in them. This location has really gone downhill in the last year, and I won't be returning anytime soon.
We have dined at Cantina Laredo many times and had incredible service and food. However, last evening was the exception our waitress Maria was not attentive and in a hurry the entire evening. Our order was incorrect and she blamed us when she got it wrong. I think she may need additional training and thee food was not good.
