Cantina Laredo - Jacksonville
Great food, service and atmosphere
My husband and I go to Cantina Laredo at least once per month. The food is awesome. The last 2 times we dined there the service was very slow. We waited at least 10 min for our server to take our drink order. Both times we had to ask for chips and salsa. It was not crazy busy. I hope the service improves as my husband and I enjoy Cantina Laredo for date night.
Food was good, especially the Chili con queso.
Birthday celebration for son’s 19th birthday.
The cascabel ribeye is amazing! We always get it!
The mojito was a disappointment this time because it’s usually outstanding. So we got mango margaritas instead which were very good. The apple dessert is wonderful! Good food!
The Chipotle chicken was excellent! Love it here.
We were very excited to bring some out of town guests here. To start, something was dripping on the four of us from the ceiling. We requested to be moved so it didn’t drip in our food when it came. They moved us to the next table over. Our waitress wasn’t even told why we moved and just assumed we were being finicky. They proceeded to place the next guests at the table we left. That shows me a great lack of care in solving the issue or wanting the best for the guests.
The food arrived, pretty sub-par, especially for the hefty price. I expected it to be much better than a place like Tijuana Flats or La Nopalera since the prices were much more and its boasted as being a higher end Mexican.
I got the Barbacoa. It was literally pot roast. I’ve had Barbacoa many places, and even made it myself. I’m not sure how just plain pot roast on a tortilla classifies as Barbacoa. Don’t get me wrong, I love Pot Roast. But not when I want those delicious Barbacoa flavors.
My husbands cheese enchiladas were stuffed with raw onion, giving a really weird, unappetizing crunch to the enchiladas. He loves onion, but it definitely made them weird, and we are thinking they meant for them to be cooked a LOT more.
The salsa was “fire roasted”, which normally sounds delicious. But it tasted like burnt tomatoes.
HOPEFULLY these were isolated incidents and that it’s not that bad usually. But I’m not sure we will be back to find out.
I brought two coworkers here for lunch for a birthday celebration. Neither one had ever been here before. Our server, Jeremy, was courteous, and excelled in customer service. The presentation of the top shelf guacamole and apple pie dessert with butter brandy sauce was very impressive and delicious! Our lunch was delicious with leftovers to take home. Thank you, Cantina Laredo, for making me look good !
I would recommend but with caution. We dined for my mothers birthday, early evening on a Sunday. The restaurant was not full however the service we received would suggest otherwise. We were greeted by three different servers letting us know someone would be right with us before our drink order was even placed. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. We will likely not return as there are other options in the area with excellent service and food.
Always great food and service!
I took my mom here for the first time for her birthday and it was absolutely delicious. We had chips and salsa with queso dip and steak quesadillas. Service was great as well. Bathrooms do need some fixing up and someone needs to check the bathrooms every hour or so as there was no toilet paper available.
Gentlemen in table next to us had been drinking and was very loud. Making strange noises !!!
We had some houseguests visiting from Australia and brought them to Cantina Laredo. Not only do we love it here, now they do, too!
The food was excellent as usual. The service was wonderful. We will definitely be returning.
Our server was extremely courteous and accommodating. She was very attentive
Seated at table next to party of 20. Too noisy. Chips brought out. No salsa. Had to ask waitress for salsa. Had even took 5 minutes to receive it. Normally salsa is brought out with chips. Had to ask twice for wine. Waitress seemed to have a no care attitude. Food was very good as usual but service was average and for hostess to seat a party of two next to a party of 20 was ridiculous Normally service is outstanding
Ashley goes above and beyond everytime
Liane was great - she's been our server before and always has a great attitude and very attentive to her tables. I really appreciate that as a former server myself, and patron of the restaurant. I always feel the prices are a little high for Mexican food. My favorite dish has increased in price from $16 to over $18...it's not a quality issue, it's just a perceived value. $10 for a couple tacos, beans and rice is just high to me. Either way, it's always a treat to go there and I always enjoy the food. I will go back, just not as much as I would if the pricing was a little lower, like it was a few years back.
Awesome as always
While the restaurant was nice inside..the service that evening was not great. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant but the service was slow. We had made a reservation on Open Table...but truly there were only 2 tables occupied at 7:30...odd since I was told all was booked from 6:30-7:30??
Waiter stated they were low on staff that evening...
great place all around for families, friends, even your enemies will love it
Always a treat to dine on the patio. Guacamole and Margaritas were perfect. Entrees exceptional.
Best Mexican cuisine in Jax.
Great food! Husband extremely pleased with his Father’s Day Dinner! Definitely will go back!
Father’s Day lunch, pleasant experience
What are quality food in a very good selection. Good prices we can make a less expensive meal or a higher priced with some of the seafood, overall great value.
Always excellent food and drink. Laura was our server and she was very helpful and attentive without being overly doting.
Delicious food and great service!
The food did not look or taste appealing.I initially ordered beef enchilada but I could not eat it because it looked like a pureed tray.Service was not the greatest either.
It was very good. The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. Would definitely go again!
Mexican to the next level! They do an amazing jo! Highly recommended.
We celebrated my son’s graduation here but come for dinner on other occasions. Love the food here and service is always attentive. Good wine pours and a lot of variety on the food menu.
We took our son to Cantina Laredo for his birthday, at his request. Kiomi provided expert service from the start. We ordered the Patron margaritas which were on special on Mondays and the guacamole prepared table-side to start. Two of us had the carne aside tacos and my husband had the carnitas. Food and drink were delicious. Prices are a bit higher than standard Tex Mex places but the high quality and generous portions make the value worth it. We all agreed that it was one of the best Mexican meals we have had in a long while!
Our party of four arrived several hours early for our reservation . The staff was friendly and happily accommodated us. Our server was very pleasant, and we started our meal with table side guacamole, which was delicious! She gave us ample time to make our entree selections and checked bs k with us to make sure we had everything we needed. A fun afternoon with delicious food!
I arrived early and had to wait due to the holiday, which was no problem. Instead of checking me early, when I was seated after about an hour I learned that rather than checking me in, they had cancelled my reservation. I had already spoken to a manager about empty tables, in excess of 15 in the restaurant that they were holding for reservations that may or may not show up. People could have been seated and completed their meal in at least half of the tables they were holding for reservations, which would have helped with the backup of walk-ins. The reservation police CERTAINLY needs to be looked at by corporate, unless this manager simply does not know how to run a retaurant efficiently. Perhaps it is a training issue. I had to speak with another manager regarding the cancellation of my reservation in order for him to do whatever what was required to confirm it for my Open Table confirmation and points. He also was extremely rude and made it seem to be a huge imposition. I eat hear frequently and food is always good, but I certainly will never go again on a holiday.
Made a reservation; arrived 10mins early & was promptly seated. Server was great, food was fantastic. Will definitely visit again.
It was delicious! I always have a great meal here!
The food was bland. My husband had to salt the rice which should never happen at a Mexican restaurant.
The food is always great and the service was fast without overlapping courses.
We had a great experience but certainly wish the entrees had arrived AFTER the appetizers.
Everything tasted good but we have been blown away at Cantjna before. This visit was just ok.
