Overall great experience.
Birthday reservation. Birthday not asked about or acknowledged.
Very strange experience. We went on a Thursday at 7. We were the only seated table (bar was full). Service was slow but I can't be mad at the guy! He was the only person working in the whole restaurant. Multiple of our cards were declined despite being sure they were working fine. Food was good but ambiance and service killed our experience.
Carnitas were outstanding and cucumber margarita was on point as well!
Very good atmosphere and not too busy for a Friday night
This was just a terrible Mexican food experience. If I could have cooked at home I would have. From the store bought tortilla chips and salsa to the store bought taco shells and rice and beans, everything came out of a can or bag. Even the carnitas my husband had were dry and overcooked. And we we told we couldn't get a reservation that afternoon until 7:45 but found it wide open on opentable. When we got there half the tables were empty. Only good thing was our waitress who was very nice. Do not waste your money!
Service was very slow
We stopped in on a Saturday evening (6PM) and were told that if we did not have a reservation or could sit at the bar that we could not be sat, not at all, there was not even a wait list. This is a downtown location, people from out of town and people that just happen to be downtown and wanted to pop in an eat, were not going to be able to. I stood there and make a reservation for 6:30. And my party of (4) stood there for that half hour. Only one other reservation was sat during that half hour. MANY, MANY, MANY people were turned away. There must be a reason of this but it is beyond me.......... But after being sat, we had great service by Nicki and the food was good. I would try this restaurant again, and because know I know, I will make a reservation.
Horrible service and they weren't even that busyakakakakakakakakakaka.
We had dinner before a Colorado Symphony show. It is close and a 5 minute walk. Food was good but was warm. The food must have been prepared but not brought to our table promptly. Other than that it is a decent Mexican Restuarant. It was a little expensive for the quality. That said, they need to improve the food or lower the prices.
The worst experience I’ve had dining in a very long time. It took 15 minutes to be recognized when we arrived. Try tried to seat us in a party room as a party of 2 while other quieter tables were available. Many tables were left unbussed for our entire stay. Chips and salsa took 20 minutes to arrive. Wait staff extremely inattentive. We were hostages and could not leave because we could not get anyone to bring us the check. No water refills. Food over cooked and cold. Horrific in every regard and do not recommend.
We waited 30 minutes for our appetizer, 45 minutes for food, and never got out drinks within the hour we were there. Our poor waitress really tried, but overall it was just not a good experience.
Very tasty food, great service. We eat here frequently before going to the Buell.
The food was good -- better than previously. But the service was dismal. It took nearly an hour for our order to arrive!!! They are shorthanded for sure -- our waiter confirmed that.
the food and the Margaritas are always very good. However, the margaritas start with a glass full of ice which reduces the drink to a couple of ounces, reduce the ice in leau of one more once of drink. and the wait staff is always personable and interactive, however this time the waitress dropped plates on the table rather than placing them which is unsettling, she also stacked plates on top of each other on the table, ive never seen that done since it is unprofessional. still will return to the Cantina, just shore up the wait staff on the basics.
Decided to go to Cantina Laredo for our anniversary. After making reservations our table was not ready and we had to wait an additional 10 minutes when there were open tables in several areas of the restaurant. After being seated we waited another 10 minutes to be served water and a bowl of smashed up chips. Then we were greeted by our server and they apologized for the delay as they were very busy. We placed our drink order to only end up deciding to walk out after waiting another 25 minutes with no service. Not a good experience.
It is clear that owners/managers are less worried about long term viability. Way way understaffed. Took 10 minutes to be seated (no line). Took another 20 minutes to take order. And food wait even more unreasonable. When we arrived, every table had NOT been cleaned up. That is a terrible look for the restaurant. The issue is 100% understaffed and no accountability. It appears the current staff just doesn't care because likely management/owners don't care or this Restaurant would like and feel much different. Food was ultimately the best of all of this but I wouldn't say better than any other Mexican Food Restaurant. I will not go back here nor recommend this restaurant until they have a total overhaul and start caring.
First time there versus the location down south. Surprised at low scale environment, unappealing. Overall food was good but service horrible. Nothing at all to speak of, not worth coming back.
10 minutes before we received water. 34 mins before we received drinks. Enchilada sauce tasted like hormel chili. Not recommended.
Service was great; however food was not
We came at a pretty slow time. The staff and food were really quick. Service was great. Not a single problem. Only gave 4 stars as the restaurant has a “hotel restaurant” vibe. Tables and decor a tiny bit dated.
Wasn't impressed with the food. However service was great
It took over 10 minutes to come over and help us even though it was not very busy. No apology or explanation was given. It took an additional 5 for them to bring us water. Service began profoundly bad and only improved slightly as the night went on. Food was mediocre. We didn't have drinks, so I can't speak to that. I will not be returning.
The restaurant was not busy yet the service was terrible! We could have easily had 2 or 3 more drinks yet it took a full 30 minutes to get the first margarita. The waitress was nice but had sense of urgency whatsoever. I will definitely not be back.
Very good service and delicious food!
We have been here twice. Both times the food was exceptional and so was the service. If you are ever going to a play at the Denver Center for Performing Arts, I highly recommend this place. It is about a block away and is awesome.
We fell in love with Cantina Laredo when they had their location at the Streets of SouthGlenn. Sadly, the downtown location was not what we had hoped.
The Good: The staff was very friendly and very professional.
The Bad: Our table was so sticky from something, that when the waitress tried to pick up the plate, it was stuck to the table.
Our wine glasses were either still dirty or their dish washer is so bad, that we really didn't want to drink out of them. They also stuck to the table.
We loved their Mexican Apple Pie, however, it used to come on a sizzling hot fajita plate, but on Saturday it was luke warm at best. Still tasty, but just not the same.
With a little effort and attention to detail, they could be great, but it was definitely not worth what we paid.
We had a great experience at Cantina Laredo prior to a night at DCPA. I was pretty stressed out being 30 minutes late for our reservation (horrible traffic getting into DCPA parking!). But the host was very understanding and showed us right to our table. After informing our server of our showtime she bent over backwards making sure we were in and out in time for the show while still delivering warm and friendly service. Dinner was great -loved the guacamole and the Carne Asada. The check was promptly delivered and picked up. We made it to the theatre with time to spare! Hopefully next time we’ll have more time to linger.
Service was atrociously slow. The food was cold when it arrived. Under no circumstance can I or would I recommend this place.
This was the worst experience of service I’ve ever had. I can not believe how rude and disrespectful the waitress was. I was very disappointed because the location in Chicago is amazing so I had high expectations. The food was good, but it did not outweigh the awful service.
Interesting and tasty! Wonderful flavor combinations make this unique Mexican restaurant a must.
This was a great place for post-theater dining. We had reservations that were promptly honored and our party of 8 experienced great service as well as a great selection of flavorful and well prepared food. We’ll definitely be back.
Our waitress was very sweet, but she didn't keep our waters full, and some of our drinks weren't brought out until right before she brought our check. The food took a long time, despite the restaurant being extremely quiet...we were almost the only people in the restaurant at all, and service and the food were both extremely slow. That being said, the food was very good, and was fairly priced!
DONT COME HERE! One of the most horribly dining experiences I've had. We sat were asked if waiter had taken our order 3 times. We said no 3 times and finally we were able to get our order. I came here on a date. I think they share the kitchen with Tony Romas next door since they are connected. The chips were soft not crispy, the waiter joked they didn't have straws for the drinks. When we were served the food, I didn't have a plate or silverware yet. And, that was 40 minutes since we arrived! It was not a busy day. They were not short staffed. It was just don't care. When tried to order 3 different drinks from the menu and they were missing one ingredient ie. tequila, fruit or the special flavor cocktail advertised. I'll never be back don't send me a coupon. This place ruined my date. It was embarrassing. We should have left it was so pathetic. Sorry I only really write reviews if they're good like 4-5 stars. Cantina Laredo was so bad some one in management should know. Just sell this place and move on.
We were seated immediately, however, it took 15 minutes before someone even came to our table to bring us water.
20 minutes later, we're still waiting for someone to come take our order . I stopped ine waitress and asked who was responsible for ourvtable, and I was told she will be with you shortly!
Another 10 minutes oass the waitress finally shows up and does not apologize for the wait, by this time we are just ready to go!
Ordered beef enchiladas and I got cheese enchiladas with a beef sauce on top!! Will not be returning!!
Good food but terrible service. We actually had to refill our waters ourselves when our server was nowhere to be found. All of our add-ons never arrived ( guacamole, tortillas, etc.) but we were billed for them. I’d recommend that you look elsewhere if you’re in a hurry or want to impress clients.
It was relatively slow that evening, yet everything seemed to come out very slow. It would take over 20 minutes to get a drink we ordered and to have them come out wrong. Food was pretty good, just not the best service.
This is the second time we have been since it opened. The food is pretty consistent but the service is very hit or miss. We wouldn't want to go again without some buffer time before a theater show.
The service was slow. The food was okay. The drinks were slow to come to the table. An average visit.
We absolutely love this place! Both salsas that are served prior to your meal arr the best salsas we've ever had! Chicken enchiladas are a must! You won't be disappointed! Margaritas are always so tasty and worth the money because you can tell there's a bit of alcohol in them. (Not a rip off) This is our go to for special occasions and we highly recommend it!!!
