Cantina Laredo Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant just opened within 2 months of our visit so I attribute some shortcomings to that....
Food was "ok". Not great. Chips thin and crispy but greased-soaked.
No iced tea? Maker didn't work so too bad. $2.00 side of Guac was 1 1/2 tablespoons. Coffee was $4.00. Too bad it was just lukewarm. We asked for a warmup and waitress took our cups back to the kitchen......what's up with that. Returned full but just a little warmer....not hot. Ice cream came mostly melted and soupy. Service was so-so......waitress was attentive but scattered and unfocused. May try another time and see if improved.
Service was very slow, especially for not being busy. The staff seemed unorganized and was confused about what they should be doing. The food was good. Highly recommend the hot salsa (served warm). I will definitely give this restaurant another chance, for the hot salsa if nothing else.
I have been to Cantina laredo's all over the country. This one had a smaller menu and as someone who needs to do have gluten free, there were less options. The meal I had was okay but not as good as another restaurants around the country. The service was slow. The waiter blamed the slow drinks on the bar being backed up but in reality, he just never went back to the bar to check on his orders. I like the Cantina Laredo restaurant but this one would not be my first choice to go back to.
Horrible service. I had to get up and get my own water refill. I asked for the manager and she was too busy talking on her cell phone to come visit my table. $100 for that kind of service is ridiculous. when I confronted the manager on her way out she acted like she didn’t have a clue what I was talking about.
This Cantina Laredo is not like any other location I've been to. Upon arriving, you realize the location is questionable, the ambiance is lacking and the set-up of the restaurant is plain bizarre. The food and drinks are not up to par with the other Cantina's I've visited. The experience was lacking to say the least.
Our new favorite Mexican restaurant! The restaurant was beautiful- not your typical cheesy decorated Mexican restaurant. Service was incredible and food was very good. Highly recommend the apple dessert- mouth watery sensation and the presentation by the server was well worth it in itself. We will definitely come here again.
We made a reservation for 9 people at 6:30 just two hours before. They sat us at a table even though we showed up 40 minutes early and were prepared to wait (theater ended early). I think they sat 3 other big parties in our section at the exact same time yet they were attentive and timely. The service was wonderful - they regularly came by to check on us even though they were slammed. The food was delicious, the cocktails were fantastic, and the table was tucked away so the kids in our party kind of had their own area. Love this place, love their service and food and can't wait to go back.
We had a 6:00 reservation and were there at 5:45 but they sat us because on a busy Saturday night downtown the place was virtually empty. We should have stayed away too. The drinks took forever to come out. The chips and food took forever as well. When the food finally arrived at 7:20 everything was cold except one dish (We were there with 6 total people). And two dishes were incorrect. The waitress kept telling us how flustered she was and that she was new. We laughed with her at the beginning of the meal but it became too many excuses. We never got the right meals after telling the server. We nibbled a bit and then my husband went to go find someone to find our check. They comped about $20 off the bill but on further inspection they charged us for 3 enchiladas instead of just 2. Bad experience all around. We got the kids Chik-fil-a on the way home.
Let me first say the service was incredible. prices on food reasonable . The tortilla soup was great, as was the apple pie dessert. However, there were annoying fruit flies in dinning room and womens bathroom. The wine was overpriced in comparison to food. The Ranchero sauce too acidic with minimal flavor I scrapped it off. We have eaten at seemingly all the eateries that had been located here and fear this one won't last either there is great Mexican food in Denver just not here.
We started with the strawberry mint margarita and it was delicious. We had the guacamole for an appetizer (wonderful), the fish tacos were delicious (the fish was spectacular), and then the chicken enchiladas. Overall, we loved the experience, not to mention to chips and salsa. Will definitely be returning.
We were very disappointed in Cantina Laredo. There was nothing spectacular about the food. Our table ordered enchiladas, which were very basic. My son ordered enchiladas and it was literally a small rolled up tortilla with cheese in it. It was beyond basic, we expected more. The table-side guacamole that other reviewers raved about was extremely bland and lacked any flavor. My husband did love the fresh salsa but that is not enough for us to ever want to return.
Went here to catch dinner before a show. Had reservation but when we arrived we were told that they were understaffed and just sat a bunch of tables. Everything took extra long; water, chips, anything. We ordered drinks and ended up going to the bar to check on them. They were sitting there but even though the waiter was right there it still took another 5 minutes to get the drinks to the table. The food was okay, but no follow-up from the servers and just obviously understaffed. Not sure we will go back.
I loved Cantina Laredo at Southglenn; disappointed when it closed. Happy to find this new location so close to DCPA. I had a terrific salad, good wine. Had Tres Leches cake but it wasn't as good as at Southglenn but still good. When I meet friends in Boulder, I usually suggest Cantina Laredo there.
Great food and service, table side guacamole, plenty of food options... shared the combo fajitas. Chips made daily served with a warm hot salsa and a cold mild salsa. Great Margaritas, not too sweet, just right! Low lighting for a nice intimate dining atmosphere. Booths and tables, kid friendly too.
Good good - extremely dark I truly needed to turn on flashlight on phone app to see the menu. Bar tables small if you order more than one plate it hard to put all on table. They seem to be shorthanded when we were there but the waitress was hustling. Would definitely go again but hopefully they will add more lighting.
It was pretty good but timing was a little quick for a date. Our appetizer and entrees came out before drinks and we were done in less than an hour total. Drinks were nothing special for the price and the food was just ok. Nice interior and atmosphere and great location for a theater night.
Food was pretty good, but if there was any tequila in the margarita I sure couldn’t taste or feel it. We froze to death even with sweaters on. Waiter said cold air was bleeding over from the other side of the building which was being renovated. Surely they could have turned up the heat or SOMETHING!
We will give it one more chance.
