Cantina Laredo - Columbus Ratings and Reviews
We had a great meal beginning with warm chips w/ hot and mild salsa. Cocktails were great and feature drinks were creative and not your everyday variety. Everything we ordered for dinner was delicious and prepared just as expected. Waitress could have been a bit more attentive, but overall a great experience.
Normally the food is great and service is good. This time, however, our server wasn't so great. We had to ask him multiple times for items. Our food took forever to get. Once we got it, we had to send one of the meals back because it was so burnt. The manager agreed that it was over cooked. Hopefully it will be better next time.
They only had one bar tender on a Saturday night. She forgot some of our order I requested my meal to have no cilantro. I sent it back and it came back cold with the cilantro scrapped off the top. There were a lot of other people at the bar annoyed with the slow service and lack of attention.
The mole enchiladas were fabulous! The mole sauce had the perfect combination of Mexican dried pepper spices and dark chocolate. The chicken inside the enchiladas was roasted and moist. The sides of Mexican rice and creamy black beans were delicious. I enjoyed a wonderful house margarita. The tortilla chips and two salsas were exceptionally yummy ( beware: one is very spicy ). My husband greatly enjoyed their Carne Asada. A grilled ( perfectly medium rare) skirt steak that was marinated w onions and served on a bed of delicious chimichurri sauce. We shared an excellent creamy Mexican flan with caramel sauce for dessert. Our waiter, Mohammed, was very personable, professional and prompt. He gave us great suggestions for menu items to order and we were so happy with our choices! We would highly recommend ALL!
food was great. This was not my first visit. The service was not up to par. Our server seemed to be in a bad mood or too busy. He didnt offer any suggestions. He didnt ask if we wanted an appetizer. He rarely stopped by after the food was delivered. Will try again but will have a different server.
The flavor profile of the food never seems to amaze me, I love the great flavors in everything I have had there so far and look forward to the next time I am there. The service was a little spotty with drink refills and the waitress seemed like she was preoccupied with something other than taking care of us but the food is great
The food was very good. The service was average. The restaurant should have someone besides their servers perform the following: Water fill ups, bar delivery and tableside guac preparation. At least give me the impression that the person hand making my guac is an expert at it. The wait staff was overworked and these changes would have helped that.
Normally, I’ve had a good experience at Cantina Laredo. On this occasion, the waitress spilled half of my meal in my lap and never said anything. At the end of the meal, it took almost an hour to get our bills, which were wrong and had to be fixed twice. When the manager came to the table, we informed him about the meal being spilled and his response was “well are you ok?” No apology, no offer to compensate even for the food that was spilled, let alone the fact that is was spilled on me. A friends card was charged for two separate bills and he would not give her written proof that the second bill had been taken off of her card.
I recently dined at Cantina Laredo in a mid-sized group on the weekend.
The restaurant has very friendly staff and management who greeted us and checked in on us during our meal.
Great looking interior with lots of eye-catching bits of art and other pieces around the room.
The dining areas are sectioned well so you feel you have some privacy from other diners.
We ordered a variety of dishes from salmon to carne asada. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The portions were very generous as well.
We were celebrating a birthday and the young lady who took our order brought him a piece of cake with a lit candle/sparkler that was a fun treat.
Great time had by all and we will dine here again.
The restaurant was practically empty and service was incredibly slow. Had to ask several times for drink refills. We were a party of six and everyone's food came out at different times. There were also two mistakes that had to be sent back. Would not go back.
The waiter couldn't describe the fish dishes, and didn't go check on it. Just shrugged off his lack of knowledge. The server dropped one of our meals near another table and it crashed onto the floor and splattered their purses and legs . We saw it all but no one acknowledged it initially. They just delivered the rest of our meals then the waiter came over nonchalantly to say "yeah they dropped your meal over there". My meal was 15 min behind everyone else at my table since they had to remake mahi tacos.
Disappointed all around and they only comped the $15 fish tacos on a $200 ticket. No class or professionalism demonstrated throughout the night. Huge downgrade in service from the last few years. Won't be back probably.
My wife had been previously for a Christmas party and couldn't stop raving about the steak fajitas. She wanted to go back for her birthday, and I was happy to accommodate her ;) The fajitas were indeed amazing, and the service, atmosphere, and friendliness of the staff were all great as well. Will definitely be back.
Service wasnt all there tonight. Usually good food and service. Think the guy was new. Almost mixed the advocado sticker into the guacamole, then he didnt bring us chips for 10+ mins, had to ask a bus-boy, forgot sour cream twice. My drink was always empty, come on, this is where you make your money.
Friends from out of town often drive down to go here, but there are two good Mexican restaurants near us. This week we had company and decided to drive out to try. Chips were thin and fresh and dips were most unusual (one sweet and one hot (temp.) and spicy.) but looked the same, All of us loved combo plates which were very tasty. One split 1-2 was on the tacos (two of us do not like hard tacos and one loved them). Waiter (Bryce) was extremely personable (we are older and do not expect that kind of communication) and fun. We will go back and ask for him. You can enter from the back door (no steps) right near the parking and not have to meander through the court yards around it.
Overall our experience was OK
We've been to this restaurant many times and our other experiences have been better
It just felt like they were not as cohesive as they normally are
There had been a very large party there before us and things were pretty messed up when we got there and it just seemed like they didn't have time to do adequate cleaning up the area around the tables
We indicated on open table that we would like a certain server and were surprised when our request was not honored. When ordering our server Morgan asked us to point to the items because she did not know the menu. We saw our food go by and then sit outside on the patio for 5 minutes because the food runner did not know table numbers. The food was excellent my boyfriend had the carne asada and i had the carne asada with shrimp. Not even halfway through our meal the server said you guys ready for the check? We had planned on ordering dessert and she never cleared the table and left dirty plates all over when finally another server came and asked if we'd like boxes. Service left much to be desired but the food was exceptional.
We are regulars at this location and usually this is a five star experience. This time was awful. The server was new but it took forever to get our order taken and even longer for our food to come. Order was not eight when we finally got our food. New server was very apologetic however this is not what we have come to expect from an otherwise great place.
Are used to go here all the time, and as usual the food was wonderful. However even though there were very few people in the restaurant service was incredibly slow, and we had a few things we ordered that didn't ever make it out. I'd still go back, but it's probably on probation and my rotation.
