Wonderful atmosphere! Great happy hour specials! Will definitely be back
The waiter was attentive. I asked for chips to go home, he kindly gave me a fresh bag to go...no charge. Food was excellent!
The fresh guac made tableside is everything!
Very nice place! Good food and drinks! Temperature could have been warmer.
Very popular restaurant, recommended by my colleague. Food was awesome!
Never been disappointed at Cantina Laredo. Food is excellent and service is spot on. One of my favorite restaurants to dine with a big group of friends.
I’ve been to Cantina Laredo several times and have always enjoyed it. I don’t know if they were having an off night, but it wasn’t quite the same when I went with my family on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday.
Our waiter was good, but the service was a bit slow. He did apologize for the wait, which is nice. It’s also a good thing that they bring nachos & salsa to the table right away. My two boys would have been miserable otherwise.
The food was fine, but not quite as I remember. I don’t know if I ordered something new or what. I had one of the combination dinners, and I was left full but underwhelmed by the fish overall.
Since I’ve had better experiences at Cantina Laredo, I’ll definitely give them the benefit of the doubt. It was good, but not as good as I remember.
Love coming here! Every time I’m in the city I try to come! Great good and great drinks!
Very nice surrounding, comfortable venue.
We came to Café Laredo to celebrate my daughters birthday. There were 6 adults. The table that we were seated at was very nice. It was a cold evening in Chicago and we were seated by the fire place. The margaritas we had were delicious and the table-side guacamole was great. When I go to a Mexican restaurant I almost always get the taco dinner. The traditional taco dinner at Café Laredo was horrible. I had better tacos at Taco Bell for much, much less than what I paid for here. I was very, very disappointed. Very little flavorless meat covered up with lettuce and tomato. Bad choice. However, my daughter got the Cancun which looked pretty tasty. I usually rate a Mexican restaurant by their tacos and Café Laredo failed. I may return, but I would not get the traditional taco dinner EVER again.
Everything was fabulous. My only discomfort was feeling very rushed by the wait staff.
Consistently great food and service.
Ambience and drinks are great. Food was very mediocre and of poor quality. I would not go back unless chef changed.
We sat upstairs, which was lovely and very quiet. The guacamole was fantastic. Our specialty taco entrees were a little bland. The server was nice, but a few things we asked for never came like a straw for our drinks, and my husband asked for his side to be just rice, no beans, but he got beans anyway.
The food is microwaved and the plates come out scalding.
I ordered a specialty of the restaurant which was a stuffed pepper wrapped in churasco. Even though the plate was as hot as the sun, the pepper was ice cold, and the rice and beans were luke warm. The Churasco was actually decent but on the small side and you can get the same quality at a thousand other latin restaurants around the city. The margaritas were ok, tasted like Chilis margaritas. We then paid more for Patron margaritas and they were better but not great.
Excellent dining! Always a great time at Cantina Laredo!
Was surprised at the service. We had supposedly two waiters working together but one greeted us and took our drink order and never saw him again. And the guy who finished us was not that good. My friend ordered a second drink, he brought the new one and took the other but my friend hadn't finished it. Didn't ask just took it. I laughed but my friend wasn't to pleased about it.
It was ok - the tacos had zero filling in them, so we asked the waiter and he was basically like “yeah, I don’t know. It’s just like how they are”. It felt like he really could have cared less. The hostesses were nice and so were the food runners. Our waiter was clearly ready to call it a night.
The food was just average for the price. I've had much better tacos at other restaurants in Chicago for a cheaper price.
The restaurant is lovely and the food was great! Our server was very attentive. We will definitely be back!
The place is nice and the food is excellent! The noise is quite annoying sometimes so I’d rather recommend this place for a casual dinner with friends and family and have parties!
It was just okay. We have dined here several times but they have now changed the menu so not as many selections as before. My husband was not happy with his choice but ate it because he knows that I love Mexican. You can tell the difference in the food not as great as it used to be. Don’t think we will be returning to dine. Would possibly stop in for a quick drink before dinner someplace else as their bar is great.
I have been here multiple times and always come back for the same item on the menu. Never a disappointment. The food is mouthwatering. I would recommend this place for a nice night out. The only thing I found over priced was the guac mix, but I guess it's because you get to watch it being made. Nonetheless, great place, friendly staff. Oh yeah, also maybe it's just me, but they need to turn up the lighting in there! Otherwise, the restuarant is very inviting and lively.
Nice place and decent service but the food was just to plain for me. I had the chicken fajitas and their was a whole lot of onions and like 3 peppers. The chicken was moist and juicy but flavor less. Rice was good. My visit was ok but I’ve had better Latin food for cheaper.
First walking into Cantina Laredo me and my date waited at the main entrance for 5 minutes before our hostess became available to seat us. Upon being seated we never received service from a waiter/waitress until 15 minutes where I personality called over a waiter to assist us. The lack of service put a poor taste in my mouth and was the worst part of the dining experience.
Our server Jesus was excellent however and really made an effort to make things right. He recognized our frustration and took our drink order without officially being our sever (he eventually signed himself up which was appreciated). The peach paloma cocktail was enjoyable, table side guacamole was fresh, and the mahi mahi tacos were fine. My favorite part of the night was the mango tres leches. It's important for me to share that had it not been for Jesus, I was ready to walk out of the restaurant.
The dining experience was not overpriced and the food was enjoyable, however due to the initial lack of service I am skeptical on returning.
Delicious food for restaurant week. Would highly recommend the Carne Asada to anyone, it was perfectly cook.
Very nice atmosphere and great food!!
It’s in a really way to walk to location and bar seating is awesome!!
GreT pkace all around!!!
Guacamole was not as good as expected.
I had lunch at Cantina Laredo during Restaurant week. The lunch menu choices were fantastic, and the Tres Leches cake with mango was outstanding. I also loved my margarita, which went great with the thin and crispy chips and chioptle salsa. Great experience with stellar service, too.
The first time I went to Cantina Laredo, I enjoyed the food quite a bit. This time around, the food was lacking big time. Despite being the second table filled in the restaurant, we were stuck in a corner by the windows where it was absolutely freezing. Both my girlfriend and I needed to put our jackets back on to keep from shivering. The soup came out barely got warm and our steaks came out cooked completely wrong. Despite telling our server we were limited on time, she took forever to do anything and everything. Sadly, I won’t be going back again.
We had a good time and food was great.
Wonderful food! At the table made guacamole! Delish :)
Unfortunately the waitress was not attentive at all but the food was all great
The waitress was average & so was the food.
Girls dinner! Service was great! Food was tasty. I recommend their cocktails 👍
Our server was amazing. Constantly checked in to make sure all was good and to our liking.
Went there for restaurant week. Worth it 👍
Came for restaurant Week and got the Carne Asada, it was super tasty. I loved it.
We were underwhelmed. Servings were very small, when for restaurant week and uninspired.
We went here for Restaurant Week and found the food to be very disappointing. We are glad we did the prix fix menu, and did not spend too much money here. We would not come back nor would we recommend this to anyone. We did not like their Carne Asada. Its fatty and not too tasty. We did not like the churro chocolate sauce either - seemed processed. The berries was good, but how can anyone ruin fresh berries. The only thing I really liked was the Ahi Tuna tacos as the first course. There are too many restaurants in that area. I believe they will need to step up their game on the food or they will find that they will not last too long.
Great 2nd time will continue to go back.
Love Cantina!! The margaritas are so good and the food is delicious! Some of my favorite items on the menu are guacamole, shrimp flatbread, pollo tingas and the chicken fajitas.
Overall it was a nice evening
