Cantina Laredo - Chicago
Everything was just ok. The salsas & guacamole were a nice start. Margaritas were good, but not the best I’ve had. My chicken fajitas did not have a nice blend of flavors. The veggies & chicken were not prepared together & thus, the chicken didn’t have the yummy goodness of the peppers & onions on them. I prefer the sizzling platters of fajitas. No sizzling here. Mexican corn was great. Spanish rice not very flavorful. Beans ok.Churros were a nice end of the meal. Others enjoyed their meals, but didn’t rave about them. We’ll probably try another Mexican restaurant next time. Service was slow. Server did not come back to check on our table after we got main course until we were nearly done .
Wow! Cannot praise the experience enough! The poblano asada was one of the best dishes I've encountered. Perfect atmosphere for dinner with friends. Lots of people without feeling crowded. Service was excellent & we each tried a different drink--all of them wonderful! Will be sure to tell everyone and we will be back!
If you want great service, great food and great atmosphere, Cantina Laredo is the place to go! We have been there numerous times for special occasions, dates and dinners out with friends. It never disappoints. I recommend the fresh guacamole or queso for starters. Both are awesome. You can't go wrong with any menu item, but I highly recommend the enchilada's. My wife is a big fan of the fish tacos, they are always good. I've tried quite a few of the menu items and have never been disappointed. Our waitress this last time was Ariel. What a sweetheart and cutie! She genuinely cared about us and how we were enjoying our time there. We also had a visit from the manager who has a great sense of humor. Feeling welcome at a popular restaurant like this just makes the experience that much better!
Food was excellent!
Great food and great service. Everyone enjoyed their meals and were very satisfied. Would highly recommend to anyone.
menu was much better in the past. cutting corners in both food and prep is really obvious. probably the last time we will be back.
Excellent service (by Rob). Very good food.
I had a great experience having lunch here while on business last spring so I was excited to come back. First of all I get the "Just one? Do you want the bar?" Arrrggghhh. I am on the road a lot and want nice service with my meal. The bartender just ignored me. Normally I would have stayed for another glass if wine but I just left. So disappointing.
The food was amazing as always. Our waitress was not very attentive and had to ask for the check 2-3 times. Overall, food outweighs that and we will def be back.
Good service. Food was good but not outstanding. Main entree not very hot. We had fajitas and they should be sizzling.
I had a great late night dinner with my friend! I got the quesadillas and she got steak tacos. We shared traditional guacamole which was very fresh! Both of us had the traditional margaritas as well. To finish our dinner we got the churros and bread pudding which were both amazing! I always have a great experience here.
Street corn was nice
Delicious, flavorful, attentive wait staff. They were very sensitive to food allergies (gluten) and had a wide range of selections.
Went with a group of seven. Service was disappointing. Server was not attentive. Took a very long time to take our order and even longer to come back with drinks etc. seemed rushed and would start to leave the table before the full group had a chance to order.
Very good time. Food was great
The staff were very nice. We were greeted and taken to our seats right away. The waitress came and took our drink orders quickly. The food was excellent. The prices fair. The atmosphere very nice
The only issue was 2 dirty wine glasses in a row. Otherwise everything was great.
Awesome margaritas, great food and excellent service
Great atmosphere, friendly wait staff, awesome margaritas and delicious food at reasonable prices. My only comment is that the portions were a bit small, but at least for my family we were still fine with just one entree each and the complimentary chips & salsa. Overall, I highly recommend.
Our waiter was awesome. He knew exactly what our grandchildren wanted and how to speak to them. The food was delicious. Great family restaurant and group get together.
Flavorful food - avoid mini (even for Mexican-size) tacos - maybe 6 bites in total for >$10...an app, not a meal.
Thought the shrimp ceviche needed more shrimp and less cucumber but flavor was good. Chips and salsa was good. When ordering enchiladas, they do not come with anything else. Would have preferred traditional beans and rice option if offered. Overall decent food but probably not returning.
Host struggled to find my reservation. Waiter was nice but lacking in enthusiasm. Though it is not required she Did not acknowledge our anniversary although it was mentioned to her. Last 2 times I went the waiter put sparklers on the dessert just to be nice and added effect.
We weren't starving, but decided to stop in anyway - ended up sharing an order of fajitas which still ended up being way too much for two of us. Servers were nice despite us not ordering a ton.
Good Mexican food.
We were pretty sure our waiter was under some kind of substance due to his behaviors. We were there for two hours and he never asked us to take our order for dinner. We eventually decided to leave after a round of drinks and appetizers. We used to love this place but the menu has been completely changed as well. Such a shame that this restaurant has gone downhill
It was a positive experience. Service and food was good
Spectacular service and good!
Our waiter recommended the best dessert - mango cake was on point!
I've been going here for years but they have recently changed their menu, and seem to have gone smaller on the dish size and cheaper on the chips.
The overall restaurant environment is nice. I went on a Monday evening and not too busy although service was a bit slow. Food taste was okay. I had the combination fajitas. They filled the platter with lots of onions and very little meat. I asked for lettuce wraps instead of tortillas and they claimed they did not have any. It is difficult to believe that the restaurant did not have an uncut head of lettuce.
Great service and food And great stake fajitas
Our service was very slow and our bill had to be fixed a few times. I signed up for the rewards program to receive a free appetizer and it took them a few times to get it fixed. I would have ordered a second drink but our server never came back to check on us. We like the food and the price is really great; just wish the service was a little better otherwise it would be our go to spot all the time.
Very good experience. Fun place to go for a family event.
Restaurant was half empty and server was rushing us along. Meals arrived before appetizers. Server dropped the check before we were done with our meals. An unpleasant experience while I was entertaining customers.
We all loved our meal, all dishes were winners! Especially loved the guacamole and the Ahi tuna tacos!! Fabulous margarita too!!
So many better options for tex mex. no wonder it’s empty on Sat night and the upstairs lounge is closed.

Food and service was excellent
This place always makes me happy the Cameron poblano asada is a must best thing on the menu aside from the ahi tacos and the guacamole. The fajitas tres is also delicious! If you haven’t ever been you need to go they do not disappoint!
