Cantina La No 20 - Playa del Carmen

We were celebrating a birthday and they did nothing special. Other than that the food was excellent and we had a great time.

Bring your Spanish or google translate... menus in English aren’t provided and online menu not what’s offered. Music is the atmosphere, conversations will be at a minimum. Food is good

The service and food here were superlative! I saw a bad review, talking about the noise, so expectations were set properly, and it was a non-issue.

The cuisine caters to foodies that eat weird stuff (they have grasshoppers) as well as food that non-insect eaters will love!

Pro-tip - order the steak done less than you want. They serve it on a sizzling cast iron platter, and it cooks more at the table.

The drinks were great too!

I love the restaurant & go there a lot! But after last night, I will not return as the Waiter was trying to cheat me in a sneaky way on the Tip & I caught him. I talked to the Manager & he didn’t care at all - so I told them I will not return again!

Great place and location. We'll kept and seemingly a fine dining experience until all the solicitors start. We were genuinely happy and then one after another solicitors came to our table constantly interrupting our dinner. This only stopped after we had enough when someone came with our photos in a cheap plastic frame pushing a sale. We told the server that we can not take that anymore. Good food but a fine dining experience ruined by low level sales tactics. I will not recommend or at the place ever again.

Food delicious and music excellent.
The problem is they seat people less than 1 meter from your table. They are not respecting the health guidance of healthy distance of minimum 5 feet.
I would ask you first if you agree to seat people next to you.
As they did not ask we better left.

El servicio muy sofocante. Sopa de tortilla mala, arrachera mala. Ruidoso y con mariachi. Como balance final: No lo recomiendo

El lugar estaba totalmente solo, nos asignaron una mesa con buena vista a la quinta avenida pero a los 3 minutos nos dijeron que iba un socio del establecimiento que quería la misma mesa que teníamos nosotros además que tardaron 30 minutos en llevar un martini.

This restaurant has beautiful decor, amazing food and very kind and attentive staff. Their cocktails are fabulous as well. The only issue with this place is that the noise level is out of control making it difficult to have a discussion with anyone at your table. They play great music, however, loud music along with up to three mariachi bands at one time causes complete chaos and intense noise levels. It is difficult to enjoy all the positive things this restaurant has to offer. My suggestion would be to lower the music when they allow the mariachis in and only one at a time.

Staff needs more training. Food wasn’t great.

I literally had to fight with the waiter to get a glass of wine to go with my $55USD ribeye steak. They refused to open a bottle of wine for me, saying that they were « all out » because of NYE. Finally, another server found a half empty bottle of plonk left over from the night before and poured me a glass to go with the last few bites of my steak. A very disappointing experience and we will not be back

I expected a similar experience as the Cantina in Mexico city. Service was far below my expectations.

Sorprendido por el pésimo servicio y organización para su evento del 15 de septiembre. Después de varios años siendo cliente desde la Ciudad de México, mejor decidí abandonar el lugar debido a la falta de capacidad para atender a un cliente.

The food was delicious! Additionally, the ambiance was fun and electric. However, service was seriously lacking. Our waiter was very amiable and helpful, but only on the rare occasion when he would come to our table. It honestly felt like we did not have a waiter. We had to call on any waiting staff to get anything, whether it was a food order or more cups. Furthermore, we received the incorrect order of tacos we had ordered. We were severely disappointed. Especially considering the lovely experience we had at the Mexico City location.

A great place but this time we were the whole time “waiting” for someone to put the NBA finals game on the screen, which they said they would be playing and at the end for 3 hours they never did. Just kept on saying “they were trying” but never did.. they should just be plain and clear with its customers, either you say yes and you do it or just apologize and let the customer decide if he stays even though he will not be able to view the event he was looking for...

I like this place very much. The garden decor gives it a very nice ambiance.

Había muchísimo ruido por todos lados, también el calor era bastante.

Afortunadamente he ido en otras ocasiones y entiendo que el ambiente era resultado de la aglomeración de gente pendiente de la pelea.

Worth while! Excellent all around! Food and Drinks... the only negative are the mariachis that constantly come up to the table offering you a song!

I have booked dinner at Cantina La No 20 3 days in advance to celebrate my Boyfriend's Birthday. Even though I have mentioned that in the reservation form AND send an email with the request to prepare something special, there was no reply to my email and no intention from the stuff at that day . Highly disappointed that the restaurant didn't pay attention to our special occasion.

Ambiente agradable y ruidoso, bien para salir con amigos. La comida y el servicio de bar siempre han sido muy buenos. El único punto a considerar es que quitaron la música en vivo y nos gustaba ir los sábados por eso, y siempre ponen la misma música, claro los turistas no saben esto. Sin embargo sigue siendo un buen lugar.

Excelente lugar en cuanto ambiente, comida, música muy agradable, y sobre todo la atención
