This was my bday dinner and the service was totally amateur. Had to ask for place settings, napkins, water, extra sauces multiple times, consistency on the drinks ordered, etc. They hassled us about getting a side of grilled vegetables, off of menu.
So basically, mediocre Cali mexican food, with bad service in a El Torito kind of environment. The bar looks nice and probably where you go for good service and attention at this restaurant. otherwise, just go to CPK, at least you will get what you are expecting.
So far we have had wonderful service and meals at each of our visits.
Everyone we came in contact with was inexperienced. As evidenced by open table sending us a no-show email for our reservation. Obviously the hostess, who was also not very welcoming, failed to confirm our arrival despite confirming our reservation name when we arrived. On a positive note, the food is very good. The service and ambiance need improvement.
Not the best food or service. Have been there twice and it will be the last.
We were party of 4
3 people had shrimp dinner and all three got sick
Exceptional experience! Will definitely go back. Our server Stephanie was great!
Keeping in mind that is a new restaurant , Men's Restrooms was not clean ( Soap dispenser was missing on one of the sinks!! ) floor was dirty ,specially inside the stainless steel channel in the ground. food quality not was as good as you expect from a restaurant like Frida.
Our service was so dreadful that it impacted the food and overall experience.
Great ambiance, good crowd, good tequila options! Went on a date here and we had a blast. Staff is attentive and friendly.
We will definitely be back!
It was me and my kids. Food was good and we enjoyed ourselves.
Wonderful!! Great location but still easily accessible. Food was great, service was good and the drinks... wow!!! Def make it a stop while in L.A.
Very beautiful restaurant (I’ve been to this location when this was Fleming’s, and LA Food Show), I really love what Frida has done with the space. Overall, I think the food and drinks are a tad overpriced, but the drinks are great. The tacos were a little on the greasy side, the nachos were good. The staff is EXCELLENT
I live nearby and work in the area. Nice to finally have a Mexican restaurant with indoor outdoor feel and a vibrant atmosphere. I recommend the chicken fajitas...not skimpy...add the $3 spicy relish if you love spicy hot food!
Great location , and a very attractive decor. Big bar area to at least temporarily make up for the loss of Wolfgangs. Food is good but still not at a level it needs to be considering the location and competition. We had the chicken nachos and frankly they were deplorable. Chips of chicken , loose velveta type cheese . Could not tell whether it was real cheese . Disappointing !
Enchiladas were good both with the red and green sauce and table prepared guacamole was very good. Pork dish was good but just lacked the punch and flavor that most good mexican cantinas pride themselves.
Bartenders Juan and Jose are outstanding: knowledgeable and personable.
New Speak Easy upstairs should be a hit
So happy to have a larger Fridas' in Beverly Hills! Same DELICIOUS food. I had chicken/cheese enchiladas suiza (amazing tomatillo sauce), GF daughter had two different shrimp tacos, darling husband is crazy about the carnitas. My favorite drink in town is Frida's Paloma (ask for a Tajin rim!). We'll definitely be back. Gonna hit the bar area for M-Th happy hour, 3-7 PM. Ambience is open and airy, cool music, great vibe. Staff was upbeat. Alllllll gooooood.
Overall, a great experience. Thank you all.
Food and environment are great. Fun happy hour options. Service...needs work.
They sat us 45 minutes later than our reservation. The food for our table came very late and at different times. Food too salty! Music too loud to have conversation.
Nice lively atmosphere. Busy Saturday night dinner. Seated right on time for 7pm res. Abel the GM is good ambassador and made our request for a table up front happen. Sopes were a great app, skirt steak delicious as were the veggie tacos. Overall...Id go again very soon.
The service was below average. The server wouldn’t take our order and we were soo hungry. We kept trying to get someone’s attention for a straw, refill on ice tea
So let me start by telling you how amazing the drinks were. The bar tenders were great and great customer service. As for the Host when I tried to check in. The two girls in the front had told me we had made reservations for the wrong restaurant. I was unclear. Luckily I printed out my confirmation and showed them. They looked at each other and gave my guest and I a dirty look. Besides that the food and drinks were yummy.
Both shrimp platers were cold, and mine was very undercooked! I’ve eaten at their other Fridas, 2 blocks south...the same dish costs less, and has always been prepared correctly. The music was so loud that we could not even have a conversation... we asked three times to turn it down a little, to no avail. It’s a shame, because it’s a very pretty place, and we live close, but we cannot recommend it.
I love this place but it is way too loud. The acoustics need to improve.
The service was unorganized, inefficient, very slow and the server seemed flustered and confused half the time. It felt like they were understaffed and the staff that was there, wasn’t coping with the work load. We had to wait 25 minutes before our waiter took our order. He forgot to get our drink order with the food order because he kept rushing off somewhere else. So we had to wait for our drinks while our appetizers were already on the table. When the main dishes came, the kitchen forgot my husband’s main course and I ordered the tortilla soup which was cold so I couldn’t enjoy it. By the time the waiter realized the kitchen forgot my husband’s main course, we had almost finished dinner so we cancelled it. They brought it out anyway and we sent it back. The restaurant did remove the charge for that item and offered us a free dessert, which was considerate. However, when the waiter brought the check, he vanished and we waited another 20-25 minutes, at which point I got up and took the check to the hostess myself. We arrived at 6:45pm and paid and left after 9pm. That’s a ridiculous amount of time for a casual dinner. I am very disappointed and will be going back.
Charge for chips?
Great Restaraunt!!! Beautiful decor and great food!!!!
Quinn is a great server!!!!
Atmosphere, food and service were terrific. The music was just a little too loud for my taste.
Beautiful setting near patio. Everything was tasty. I thought the guacamole was a little too creamy but everything else was spot on. Our companions were very happy too. The service was excellent.
As a regular patron at the original Frida’s south of Wilshire for the last 10 years, my family and I were excited to try the newly opened Frida’s. What a disappointment! They didn’t serve virgin drinks for my daughter, ran out of carbonated water for my husband and forgot to bring the chips. Salsa came 20minutes before chips and then we were charged for the salsa! My husband then ordered tonic water without ice and of course, they brought it on ice! In addition, my husband’s and my food came out 10 minutes after our daughter’s and our shrimp was over cooked and so rubbery I could barely cut it. We’ll never go back. It’s shameful. We’ll only dine at the original Frida’s.
Went on their soft opening night. I don’t think they had enough staff. It took 20 min to get our drinks both times, 20 min to get more chips. The food was good though, I tried both shrimp Davis with a side of rice and beans and it was delicious. Hoping better service next time.
Need to work out kitchen kinks. Our order can put piecemeal. We need to ask for drinks continuously
Very nice space and convenient location. The food was better than I expected. I would definitely go back and recommend to my friends.
Great new spot for some Mexican cuisine. Service was excellent !
It’s a nice room but very loud. The food doesn’t live up to the setting.
