We first visited the restaurant in Fort Washington a few years back. We discovered the location on Fairmount earlier this year. The restaurants are comparable distance but the Fairmount location has become our go to.
The food and service have been excellent every time. Food is fresh and flavorful.
The city location is vibrant, I guess, or one could say loud. It holds the noise too much, which is my sole complaint.
Special seared tune tacos were delish. Thank you to our server - Petre - who recommended them.
Cantina Feliz was good! We had last minute reservations and were seated right away. It was a Friday night and understandably swamped. All the food was good. The kitchen was much faster than the bar - the Feliz Margs took a long time to make it to the table, but the food was out in less than fifteen minutes.
Consistently great! Esquites guac 🥰will be back!!
Always fabulous! Will and his crew rock! The food is just great!
Our server was most accomodating. Nachos are the best ever had!
The food was great, service was amazing, and we really enjoyed our experience. My only concern is that the tables were placed soo close together. I get the whole "no strict COVID19" social distancing methods being required most places. But let's not forget how very real this pandemic has been. I would've liked a little more space between the tables, but aside from that, we were pleased.
I had high hopes after reading the reviews. The food was bland; nothing tasted particularly distinctive. The tortillas were stale that came with the guacamole. I won’t dine here again. The service was good.
My one complaint was I ordered 3 Mahi tacos and only got 2. They were very very busy and I was only charged for 2,but……
Servers were all super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu! The interior is beautiful and the space is amazing for indoor or outdoor dining.
Service excellent. A bit messy & unorganized upon walking in. Seemed somewhat cluttered. Back porch Outside was nicer. Staff was excellent. Food was goood. Nachos w short rib / brisket was deee-lish. Sweet plantain were amazing, along with homemade sauces. Black beans lacked flavor along with the Baja fish tacos. Over pretty good. I would eat there again
Our server was AMAZING! The food was great and the drinks excellent!
Great place. Took my mom and sister when they came to visit Philly. Got seated right away and everyone loved their food. Especially the guacamole with corn and cheese on top
Great food and service!
Date night was fun! Good food, a tad pricey on the margarita pitcher
Excellent and amazing!! The carne asada is a must pick!!
My party of 3 waited over 10 minutes to be welcomed by our waitress after being seated. Apparently there was some confusion about who was responsible to serve our table… once that confusion was clarified our waitress provided good service and our orders were taken promptly. Our food and drinks arrived quickly. My low rating comes from the food itself. My blackened mahi tacos with side of black beans and rice were all sorely lacking in flavor and were totally lackluster. The beans tasted as if there was no seasoning applied at all- not even salt or pepper. The restaurant itself is very cute. There were a variety of patrons- families, singles, groups of friends. Had I enjoyed my food more I could confidently recommend this place and look forward to returning, but that is not the case here unfortunately.
Some small issues - one of the cocktails had a lemon slice that still had a sticker on it.
Food and drinks were good. Server was a very nice guy but he was waiting on the whole indoor dining area, after we placed our drink and appetizers it took 40+ minutes to put in our entrees, luckily the food came out pretty quickly at least. Definitely not enough servers on staff.
It was very nice to be able to go back and dine there.
Excellent food, excellent ambiance, excellent service! A great place for a date night or happy hour with friends!
The Esquites guacamole was just outstanding. My friend and I also got the carnitas and chicken tinga tacos. I also had a carnitas burrito and it was super yummy and so filling. I will definitely be returning! It was super busy but the waitress was kind and attentive.
We ordered sangria, guacamole, shrimp, fish and carnitas tacos, everything was delicious as always. Thank you .
Food is always very good and our server Peter was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Very good queso, margaritas and tacos
We always enjoy the baja fish or mahi-mahi, flavorful and filling.
Sitting outside, back of the restaurant is our favorite place, intimate but not crowded. During these ‘COVID times’ it’s important for us to find places we can eat and feel safe.
We haven’t eaten out in a year, La Calaca was our first choice, and we were pleased.
i had eaten there a few weeks outside and loved the food - chicken tortilla soup and nachos. The soup was DELICIOUS as was the nachos. I ordered the same thing yesterday and both were not good. The soup was HORRIBLE. wait was totally unlike before salty soup small chunks of chicken instead of the wonderful stewed chicken broth with a wonderful flavor I guess they thought if they cut up an avocado and grated some cheese that it would be good. The margarita had a lot of very sweet lemonade and if there was any tequila in it i couldn't taste it. the Nacho was ok but not like the one I got a few weeks ago. By the way I do no know how anybody could stand the noise level unless they were either very young or with the party making the noice.
Great staff! Everyone is friendly and polite and the food was so good.
Nice place, great margarita's....Awesome service!!! Thanks Peter :)
Very loud in the dining room, but otherwise everything was lovely
This place was awesome. My husband and I ate here for brunch/lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We had the fish tacos and cauliflower tacos. I LOVED my fish tacos and husband said his cauliflower tacos were very good. I had my fish grilled but these also come fried in a plantain crust. Cant wait to try that version. We also had the tropical flavored margarita. Omg we could have drank these all day. Service was fantastic. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
Food was delicious! Margaritas even more delicious- Service was great and prices are reasonable. Overall a dope Mexican jawn to hit up if you are in the Fairmount/Art Museum area.
As always, delicious flavors, from start to end. We were seated outside, which was absolutely great!
The service matched the quality of the food; both were exceptional.
Good food, quick, friendly service!
Delicious as always!
My nachos were amazing
Husband's fish tacos were weak. Fish swam thru but forgot to stop
Love it here
Visiting Philadelphia for the first time, we chose Cantina Feliz because it was close to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and had decent vegetarian options. The food quality was good. The entry doorway was WAY too narrow and having a hostess outside the door would have been better than having people crowd into the small doorway and non-entry area. There was a BIG piece of HAIR in one of the quesadilla dishes- so one person ended up NOT EATING as they were so grossed out. That definitely ruined the mood and the meal. Cost was pretty high. But it was ok overall.
