Perfect neighborhood place before a show at The Met. So warm and friendly; food is fantastic and good value.
Always a great spot for Mexican food
We had an incredible dining experience at Cantina Feliz. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our server was amazing! And let’s not forget the food. We ordered the Mahi and Baja taco and guacamole with chips and they were all really good. The tropical and original margarita were also very good. Overall, we had a great time and highly recommend.
Great food and service.
Solid Mexican in a neighborhood with very few. Also good for a group.
Fantastic service, Pete was a tremendous waiter and helped my two boys find items on the menu they would enjoy. Overall a great night in Fairmount.
The food was delicious and filling. The vibe was great - could go for a fancier meal or more casual, eithr way would fit.
Would be good to be clear that only the brunch menu was available before we looked at the QR code menus.
Eating outdoors was cozy under the heaters and much quieter than inside. Great food with creative vegetarians options and really tasty margaritas!
Found this place looking for a quick Mexican bite. Service was great, food was excellent. Would definitely return!! 5 stars
I've been to Cantina Feliz in Fort Washington many many times. In fact, I used to work there! My wife and I were visiting the Art Museum and I remembered Calaca Feliz was right around the corner. Everything was great! the food was even better than I remembered and the server was not only attentive but super friendly! We will be back!
The food was very good and was reasonably priced. The decor was colorful and fun. I didn’t care for the noise level as it was hard to have a conversation and hear responses.
Visited for a friends birthday tonight. I was surprised by the layout of the place; a lot bigger than I expected. Noise level was a bit high but that’s because each table was filled.
We ordered 2 separate pitchers of margaritas, the guacamole sampler, and each an entree. The drinks were tasty. Each pitcher provided about 4 full glasses of drinks with prices averaging between $35-$55 per pitcher depending on which you picked and if you added in any extras. I would say 4 glasses is a less amount than you’d typically get at other restaurants (I’ve been to places where pitchers will equate to 6 or 7 glasses) but their pitchers do get you buzzed. Definitely need another pitcher if you’d like to keep that buzz on a night out with friends (if sharing).
The guacamole sampler was a good value. You get 3 of the 4 options they offer for guac. BUT they are smaller portions (of course) so it isn’t serve in the molcajete, if you’re expecting that.
I got the Baja tacos and I will have to say, it is one the best fish tacos I’ve had around. They also provided the option of the fish being grilled or fried, depending on which type of fish is ordered. Two tacos were served for my dish but they were not skimpy!
My friends ordered a burrito, the fundido, and the short rib enchiladas - all were very appealing to the eyes and the taste buds.
I was too full for dessert but the offerings seemed tasty (butterscotch budino and churro ice cream).
The servers were all very kind. They were quite busy running around to different areas in the restaurant (there’s an outdoor area out front and one inside, not to mention the main dining room). They didn’t take our food requests right away but I definitely did not feel rushed by the restaurant. We were able to just enjoy our drinks and eat at our leisure when we did order. The reservation was reserved for 1.5 hours but they made sure to make us feel like we could stay as long as we were enjoying ourselves.
I’d come back here!
I love this place!
We had brunch in their covered outdoor seating out front because of rain. Everything was great - food, service etc.
Good food and margarita was awesome as well, they also had nice accommodations for families, with a high chair for my son and even a changing table in the bathroom. Great for families with small kids
This is our 3rd time here and the food is always good. The place was full and very noisy on a Friday night despite a driving rain storm. Our server was friendly but apparently she was the only one in the whole place! Unfortunately this is all too common. We had the tuna guacamole to share which was awesome! Then we each had tacos: fish x2, mushroom and chicken. All very good with fresh crisp ingredients. Kitchen was a bit slow, but again par for the course. Overall this is a reliable, poplar neighborhood place with very good food at a reasonable price. Worth the wait but noise was deafening at times.
While we absolutely love this place and cite it as one of the best spots in Philly for authentic Mexican, the service sometimes is a miss. We booked a dinner reservation for 8:45pm and arrived on time. Once seated and greeted by the server, I put in appetizers and a drinks for us to start with until we decided on additional bites. Once we were ready to add onto our order (shortly after 9pm), our server informed us that the kitchen closed at 9:00 and was no longer taking food orders. At no point were we informed of this and there was no mention of this on the site prior to booking. When we asked the server why she never mentioned this, she responded that she assumed the hostess would have informed us and that “time got away from her so she didn’t realize the time”. I cannot imagine why reservations would be accepted 15 minutes before the kitchen closes (especially if someone were to arrive within the 15 minute grace period, God-forbid) considering that people rarely make reservations just to grab drinks. To add insult to injury, after $80+ on apps and a pitcher, we were never even offered or served the house chips and salsa. It really sucked to make dinner reservations and not have had the opportunity to actually have “dinner”. Bummer.
Enjoyed their patio. Food was great. Bar was slow.
First time doing the outdoor dining and it was perfect. Food is always amazing and the staff was lovely!
Awesome. Back patio was warm and beautiful. Excellent food as always. Great margaritas!
La Calaca is consistently great between food and drinks and service.
Was seated outside on the back patio, with lots of space and privacy between tables and, with beautiful plants and lighting. The food & drink was excellent, and the tequila list was out-of-this-world. My server knew everything there was to know about the different tequila brands, and was also able to answer all my questions about the food menu. Next time I'll hang out at the bar and sample a few more kinds of agave juice, just for fun.
Good it’s always great. You won’t be disappointed by their service.
Great margaritas! Nachos de la Casa are amazing and highly recommended!
The Brunch Bowl was totally delicious! Great enclosed patio for safe, outdoor dining, without traffic noise and dirt. Good service, too. Looking forward to returning to try other dishes!
I had the shrimp tacos they were awesome. They had plenty of shrimp in every bite. The tortilla soup was awesome as well. I enjoyed my meal and will be returning soon .
Sat in the outdoor area in the back of the restaurant - ambiance was great. Server was attentive and food very much hit the spot.
Would be nice to have a side of rice and beans with the tacos.
Nice outdoor area.
Our waitress was great. The food as delicious. The outdoor seating is also a nice set up out back.0
Margaritas were great, so was the guacamole.
15/10 recommend! Great food, chill vibes, can't wait to return
The brisket nachos are simply the best there are. Absolutely love them and are regulars for nachos (+brisket), spicy margs, and the fried fish tacos. All three are amazing.
Super cute place, service was fantastic. Food simple and delicious! We will be back
Peter, waiter, made the experience worthwhile. Very attentive even tho the restaurant was full.
Great dinner on the back patio. Food and margaritas were delicious as usual!
Food was below average especially for the price. Not planning on going back
Very nice server. Food was excellent. Thank you!
Great vibe, great drinks, great food and great service!
