Excellent food, excellent ambiance, excellent service! A great place for a date night or happy hour with friends!
We ordered sangria, guacamole, shrimp, fish and carnitas tacos, everything was delicious as always. Thank you .
Food is always very good and our server Peter was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Very good queso, margaritas and tacos
We always enjoy the baja fish or mahi-mahi, flavorful and filling.
Sitting outside, back of the restaurant is our favorite place, intimate but not crowded. During these ‘COVID times’ it’s important for us to find places we can eat and feel safe.
We haven’t eaten out in a year, La Calaca was our first choice, and we were pleased.
i had eaten there a few weeks outside and loved the food - chicken tortilla soup and nachos. The soup was DELICIOUS as was the nachos. I ordered the same thing yesterday and both were not good. The soup was HORRIBLE. wait was totally unlike before salty soup small chunks of chicken instead of the wonderful stewed chicken broth with a wonderful flavor I guess they thought if they cut up an avocado and grated some cheese that it would be good. The margarita had a lot of very sweet lemonade and if there was any tequila in it i couldn't taste it. the Nacho was ok but not like the one I got a few weeks ago. By the way I do no know how anybody could stand the noise level unless they were either very young or with the party making the noice.
Great staff! Everyone is friendly and polite and the food was so good.
Nice place, great margarita's....Awesome service!!! Thanks Peter :)
Very loud in the dining room, but otherwise everything was lovely
This place was awesome. My husband and I ate here for brunch/lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We had the fish tacos and cauliflower tacos. I LOVED my fish tacos and husband said his cauliflower tacos were very good. I had my fish grilled but these also come fried in a plantain crust. Cant wait to try that version. We also had the tropical flavored margarita. Omg we could have drank these all day. Service was fantastic. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
Food was delicious! Margaritas even more delicious- Service was great and prices are reasonable. Overall a dope Mexican jawn to hit up if you are in the Fairmount/Art Museum area.
As always, delicious flavors, from start to end. We were seated outside, which was absolutely great!
The service matched the quality of the food; both were exceptional.
Good food, quick, friendly service!
Delicious as always!
My nachos were amazing
Husband's fish tacos were weak. Fish swam thru but forgot to stop
Visiting Philadelphia for the first time, we chose Cantina Feliz because it was close to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and had decent vegetarian options. The food quality was good. The entry doorway was WAY too narrow and having a hostess outside the door would have been better than having people crowd into the small doorway and non-entry area. There was a BIG piece of HAIR in one of the quesadilla dishes- so one person ended up NOT EATING as they were so grossed out. That definitely ruined the mood and the meal. Cost was pretty high. But it was ok overall.
Slow service but great food! I’d go back for sure :)
The patio was so cute, and the nachos were enormous & delicious! Great drinks too!
cauliflower tacos were 10/10
Enjoyed a very tasty meal - outdoor seating was a bonus!
Always excellent margaritas and outstanding nachos. Mahi fish tacos were terrific. We ate outside in their courtyard, which is classy and comfortable. Highly recommended.
It was great
I loved this spot, I been looking for a good Mexican spot in Philly and for this to be my first I am very satisfied. The service was amazing, they all were soo nice & I had 0 issues. I had the pulled chicken burrito 10/10, the chips & guac definitely 10/10 !
Lovely place! Great service and amazing food!
Mother’s Day Dinner
Great little spot in a residential neighborhood that is less than a 10 minute walk from the museum. The food is authentic and excellent from apps to desert (and we had something for every course! The service was some of the friendliest and most attentive that we have had in a long while. This will be a favorite of ours anytime we are in the area!
The food was excellent - not your typical tex-mex. More homestyle. And our waiter put the "feliz" in Cantina Calaca Feliz!
The food was fantastic (omg the fig and bacon guac!) but the highlight of our evening was the stellar and friendly service from Peter. He checked in on us just enough, made jokes, gave recommendations, and made the whole experience enjoyable. Will definitely be coming back!
We had sangria, chips and salsa, chopped salad and shrimp tacos... the best in the city. Outdoor seating is fabulous. Great waitress and I’m sorry I don’t have her name. Always delicious. Thank you!
Wonderful food, great service. Noise level was minimal and great atmosphere. Will return. Sadly I didn’t take any photos but the plantain Baja tacos were great.
We love this place. Service is great. Ambiance is nice. Great hh specials!
We had chips snd salsa, chopped salad, shrimp tacos and sangria. Absolutely delicious. Thank you !!!
We were seated outside because the hostess claimed there were no reservations made. Is it because I’m transgender? Otherwise it is a good place; me and my boyfriend were there before, so I don’t know what happened. Maybe I should stick to him making the reservation?
Party of four on a Sunday evening.
I had to send back my carnitas tacos three times.
Each times the entree came back colder and colder.
There were actual ice crystals on the the third try entree.
How can that happen?
Waiter Peter was very friendly food was great. The only thing the food took too long to come out
Great food and excellent service. Highly reccomend.
We ordered guacamole and chips which were yummy. Shrimp tacos, steak tacos and mahi-mahi tacos all more than delicious. We also ordered beers and margaritas....delicious dinner with friends.
Great happy hour spot in the Fairmount neighborhood! Love their margs and tacos!!
